Guys, the code is a temporary solution to allow you to spend some time ingame.
It's not meant to replace your account entirely. How would you even get that idea...

Nobody said that you won't be compensated at all, left alone that "EU players have been forgotten."

I'm an EU player. My account is banned just as yours and as frustrating as this whole thing is, the current look of 'General Discussions' is pretty embarassing to say the least. We're reaching "Give us the crown gifting back or I stop playing" levels of insanity at this point.

Quit panicking, for the love of Mara and just spend your time with something else until things get solved out.
You honestly can't judge the treatment before you've received any.

Why would I waste time on a character/account I have no connection to? They are better off just telling us to wait more than offer up a "code" with no sentimental value to anyone I know of.

Calling the people in general discussion insane is harassment and down right gaslighting behavior on your part.

I believe it was so people could at least get back on the PTS for testing the things they wanted to test which led them there in the first place. It's not meant to replace your account on live. There were quite a few people asking if they would be able to access PTS at least while locked out and since the answer was no, this was the interim solution.

I'm quite glad they are doing this. It enables testing on PTS for people who were testing on PTS. Makes sense to me.

Is this forthcominig game code just the base game? (That won't even let you interact with a jewelry station.)

Or will it be something that's more useful, like a code that includes Gold Road?

I imagine it will allow you to play on the PTS with template characters, which is what a lot would have been doing anyway. That's more constructive than starting over with a temporary code on the live servers, no doubt, although I imagine you'd be able to do that if you wanted to. However, nobody knows the details yet.

And they are giving the 200 endeavour compensation only to NA servers lmao. Guess we, locked EU plebs, dont deserve them.
    What a mess...

Gina made clear that the 200 seals for PC-NA are compensation for the 8-hour downtime that all of PC-NA had, which included primetime. EU wasn't shut down at all, so players still had the opportunity to get their 200+ seals for endeavors there.

Additional compensation is going to be announced for those players whose accounts were locked.

Well for those locked accounts like mine that is only if you claimed them in EU early morning. Because the accounts get rolled back to an earlier backup and a lot of working people in the EU probably wouldn’t be able to claim them in the time before the backup. So if you claimed them later in the evening they will just be overwritten by the earlier backup.

Furthermore we can’t even claim them the following 3 to 4 either….

Calling the people in general discussion insane is harassment and down right gaslighting behavior on your part.

The benefit of the code is to allow you to to play on PTS (which is what every locked account is related to) and log into your home server to socialize. That's it. It's not a replacement for your main account. There were numerous posts from affected accounts asking to at least be able to access PTS. This grants that request.

And yeah, the general discussion is getting a bit nuts due to the people who didn't fully read the official updates (or are intentionally misrepresenting what ZOS clearly said).

PC-NA players who lost 9 hours of primetime get 200 seals.
PC-NA & PC-EU players get 2 more days of the event, because of the PC-NA downtime.
^these two things have *nothing* to do with whatever locked accounts will receive.

The locked players are getting some form of compensation package and we don't know what it is yet.
One would hope it will include a collection of lost daily items from Jubilee/Daily Rewards/etc and something well above and beyond that. It should also be based on total time lost (which they can't quantify until accounts are restored).

If the compensation isn't meaningful for the locked accounts, I'll be one of *lots* of unaffected people who will join the chorus of displeasure.

The people with locked accounts are absolutely, justifiably upset. Let's just not confuse the situation with completely inaccurate takes or knocking what they're gonna do before they do it?

The whole problem is terrible communication.

They should have just said on day 1 ‘People with locked accounts will get all the fixed rewards they potentially missed during those days added to their accounts and another compensation that will communicated later’

But they keep repeating ‘we don’t know how and what we are going to do…stay tuned for more info’

They only needed to say 1 sentence and this whole debacle and the community vibe would be totally different now. But they keep purposely being vague everytime and just rile people up even more because it gives the (wrong) impression that they are just going to dump some crowns or a mount in our inventory and be done with it. And that makes all the work people put in the 10th anniversary event totally meaningless.

Except not all of us got riled up. Certainly, we are frustrated with the downtime. However, (a) ZOS still posted something, which is better than nothing at all... and (b) often I feel like there are some people who just want to purposefully cause trouble and/or want to rile others up, and I am not talking about ZOS.

I disagree that it has been terrible communication. As a programmer myself, I can tell you that you do not always have the answers people want right away. That just is not how it works. Perhaps in fantasy land, but this is real life. I think they are doing the best they can right now with what they have to work with. I am okay with that.

Just wanted to address this point because we do feel it is important to clarify the communication process. The way we are communication is based off of many teams working on different items and needing to align on those items. From discussions, writing, testing, etc., it takes time to do all of those items. We recognize this is annoying for those waiting on answers. But it is also the most effective way for us to be able to issue answers without issuing out a false promise.

Using your example, if we had issued something out on day one saying the following, "People with locked accounts will get all the fixed rewards they potentially missed during those days added to their accounts and another compensation that will communicated later". If we then later find out something cannot be done or some rewards could not be issued out due to X reason, then we would have just created more confusion and mislead the player base. There are a lot of moving parts and our job is to get important and accurate information out to you.

To our update from earlier today, the extra event days and endeavors are to assist with the downtime that was had. We are working on finalizing information for those who have their accounts locked and we will get that over to those impacted as soon as we can.

to put it another way Kevin is simply saying they want to be absolutely sure they can fulfil their promises before they can make promises. and that they are working to gather the knowledge to be 100% sure they can make promises.

That's understandable, but it would be nice to hear something like "it will take time to investigate whether x is possible, so can't guarantee it, but it's something we are looking into and hope to be able to provide". This would be very reassuring without guaranteeing anything.

Ideally, that would be great and we wish we could. However, we can't really promise anything until we put out the metaphorical fire and assess damage. Doing that out of order leads to all kinds of problems as well. The first thing we have to do in these situations is put out the fire, and that takes time.

All that being said, we will take the communication feedback to the team to assess where we can make things better for the future.

The accounts have been locked for 48 hours. The PTS has been up for 24 hours. What is this “fire” you speak of? The damage being done now seems to be in delaying getting locked accounts back online and making the commitment that treasure, actually earned and potential, will be restored.

Bravo. This is an example of good communication and the gist of it should have been included in the original messaging.

Clear, reasonable and relatable instead of only 'we are aware and we are working on it. stay tuned for more' stuff we got earlier. Especially if the actual info will be potentially days to a work week later during a crisis.

    Thanks Kevin.

He said it was metaphorical, so I don’t think there is a real fire in the server room or anywhere that they had to put out. 🔥

Did anyone here who had their account recently unlocked use the crown store on the PTS at all? Trying to ascertain what my chances are of avoiding a rollback. All I did was buy some skyshards to get more skill points to use on my PTS build. I'll remain cautiously optimistic. Thank you for any input.

So far that tracks with my logic that anyone who even opened the crown store on the PTS will be rolled back, but let's see if more anecdotes will be forthcoming. Thank you very much, dragonlord!
