There is no cooldown - today I got one from Vvardenfell boss and 5 minutes later one from geysers.

So far, it took me 15 minutes in fishing, 5h for both Vvardenfell and 3 tries with geysers (I was lucky there, I'm so glad I don''t need to farm these). Now I'm wasting my time in dolmens, but still nothing after 3 hours.

This FOMO grind is [snip] and bad way to bring anniversary rewards.

Others like me are still grinding without a single drop besides getting Trueflame. It's been 18 hours, and nothing. This is honestly a joke now.

Good to hear! I thought about getting it, but I don’t really want one of my characters to hold it since it’s such a unique weapon in lore. (Specifically it’s absence in 2nd era.)

It’s cool they added it though.

My Trueflame popped in Apocrypha, I think on the second fishing node. Interestingly, I've seen more people claim that one isn't too bad than the opposite, which is in stark contrast with the other pages.

I must say it doesn't feel very celebratory to spend hours grinding content that's not exactly the most fun in the game. I get the impression the message is: "if you thought RNGeesus was a meanie in the first 10 years, boy, are you in for a surprise in the next decade!"

Fished for about half an hour, 15 minutes each in Apocrypha and Telvanni Peninsula. Got a golden lead for some spore whatever body markings in Apocrypha at the 3rd fishing spot, and Trueflame on the Peninsula at the 6th or 7th.

Ended up collecting Trueflame six different times. I wasn't intending to do my third and fourth accounts, but I wanted to get the Artaeum recipes for my them and figured that if I also get a style page, it wouldn't be a bad bonus (unfortunately, out of the 7 satchels I pulled, I got only 1 of the 2 recipes).

    1st account, NA: 2 reel-ins (Vvardenfell)
    1st account, EU: 6 reel-ins (Vvardenfell)
    2nd account, NA: 241 reel-ins (Vvardenfell)
    2nd account, EU: 70 reel-ins (Artaeum)
    3rd account, NA: 51 reel-ins (Artaeum)
    4th account, NA: 42 reel-ins (Artaeum)

But... 2 reels for my main account vs. 241 for my second account... well, luck is a fickle thing.

Trueflame took me 4 hours and north of 400 casts. I fished in Apocrypha and Arteaum, with the drop coming in Arteaum.

Ul'vor took me 4.5 hours of running between geysers. I lost count after 30 geysers; it was many hours after than before it dropped.

Working on the Vvardenfall drops next. About two hours in and nothing so far.

I tried geysers, I couldn't get boss kill credit after 20m so I said screw it.

I probably shouldn't post this however might as well with all the Arcanist flashing around. If you are having trouble getting credit for kills, this is what I do and it works 100% of the time:

    - Overlap AOEs on everything (similar to Vat or Malestrom combat)
    - Use Soul Assault on main boss OR a really strong Ult DOT
    - Use Ul Regen abilities and know how to regen Ult quickly from other sources
    - Profit

Sorc, don't have soul assault unlocked, arrow doesn't do enough.

I did, today, five hours of geysers. Three or four boxes, no staff. I just want the darn thing so I can do something else more profitable.

Place drops me 70 fps when combat starts. Blech.

Yesterday, I got Trueflame at the fishing spot that is next to the most isolated dolman in Glenumbra. It's the one in the north and the one that hangs up the Glenumbra dolman farming because it is a long way to get there and then back to the next dolman.

So I was hanging out near that particular dolman to expedite the dolman farming and, while there, I decided to fish the nearby 3 or 4 fishing spots.

I got it on PC NA on my 3rd fishing hole. I wasn't grinding for it, just fishing while doing other things.

I got it on PC EU on my 3rd or 4th fushing hole. I even got 2 Perfect Roe from fileting the fish caught at the 1st fishing hole, which was awesome because I very rarely get any Perfect Roe!

I first went to fish in Apocrypha, but as usual I simply didn't get anything there after about 4 fishing spots. Then I went to Artaeum and got it after just one spot. I did have Sharp with me.

Actually for all the complaints about drop rates for this event, I have found things to be as expected and maybe even a tad better then usual. The anniversary boxes have been dropping well for me.

I got it quickly as well. Had Sharp with me, slotted the fishing nodes from the green tree and used the Arteum fishing food. Got a lot of different prized fish too.

Started in Coldharbour and ended up in VVardenfell. Took just over an hour of actual fishing.

I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

mannaged to get all of the special drops by sunday afternoon

for me it was a mixed experience
    • trueflame - around 70ish total fish reeled in
    • sunna'rah - got it after about 4 hours farming vvardenfell WB
    • barbas helm - got it after about 17 total hours farming vvardenfell WB (this was my worst one)
    • staff of worms - did about 12 dolmens before changing toons, and then got the drop on first dolmen on the other toon
    • ul'vor staff - did about 2 hours of geyser farming on the first day of event with no luck, did 3 geysers on sunday and got drop

I have finally gotten my first non-fishing style page, and I feel like making a report.

    Here's what I've invested:

    ~5 hours intensive dolmen grinding
    ~2 hours Vvardenfell WB farming
    14 geysers

And here's what I have gained during that time, primarily from the dolmens:

Leveled my last remaining lowbie character from 44-50
Leveled Sharp from 17 to halfway through 19
Unlocked Dawnbreaker for my stam arcanist (starting at Fighters Guild level 8) and got both Dawnbreaker and Caltrops morphed and partially leveled
    Lots of purple event boxes
Some leads for stuff I may or may not ever use
Lots of junk gear to decon
One (1) Staff of Worms style page

I'm probably done, aside from maybe geyser dailies since those will at least get me a purple box. I would not say the one page I got was worth 7-8 hours of mindless grinding, but after a certain point I considered all of it a sunk-cost scenario where I just wanted to have something to show for my time and it didn't matter which page I got as long as I got something. Dolmens at least got me exp and purple boxes so it didn't feel like a complete waste, although I will give geysers credit for requiring literally no effort on my part beyond showing up and tossing some caltrops around.

I should probably be thankful that I didn't have any particular personal investment in any of these artifacts, so I won't have to feel sad about not getting the others beyond general disappointment about missing out on special anniversary swag. But FOMO only goes so far when there's literally no end in sight and a significant chance you won't even get the thing you're grinding for. So I'm okay with calling it good here unless I just feel like derping around with the mad throngs for a while.

It is quite ironic to me that the fishing page was the one we were all worried about, and that seems to be the least-stupid one to get for most people (I got mine in my first fishing hole).

I've spent quite a few hours now fishing trying to get the Trueflame style page. Obviously with no luck at all.

Since I usually never fish (and even avoid the fishing quest during the New Life Festival) I need to ask: Do us non-fishing players even stand a chance? Also, do the usual fishing bonuses (special bait, CP allocation etc.) influence the drop rate?

@ZOS_Kevin, any chance you could check with the developers?

Just when I was about to give up the Trueflame style page dropped for me in Artaeum. I did unlock Sharp-as-Night and put points into those two CP fishing skills. It probably helped. But perhaps even more helpful was fishing with others.

Now I only need the dolmen and the geyser style page. Been grinding away for hours on both, but no luck. FWIW ZOS, not sure grinding is the best way to celebrate a 10 year anniversary...
