Got all hyped and stacked up all the fishing buffs (sharps, food, champ, group) and I got it in my second cast

I've been fishing in Vvardenfell for the last three hours, sometimes I run to the Nereid boss when she spawns, and I haven't gotten a single style page.
I have Reel Technique and Angler's Instincts from the green Champion tree, Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl active, and Sharp-as-Night active.

Just hours wasted doing a lot of nothing.
I could've spent that time doing my daily crafting writs and had stacks of boxes. /sigh

If this wasn't a limited time thing then it wouldn't be so bad.

Stonefalls for fishing netted both mine and my OH's Trueflame really quickly. Saltwater if that makes a difference.

Dolmens, Geysers and VVardenfell WB's are a net result of zilch so far.

Which zone did you fish it from? I know that the article says "any fishing node", but we all know some weird stuff happens.

It's a really lovely looking weapon. I wish it was 2 hand. I know why it's not, but I don't have any use for a 1 hand sword.

I got mine in Stonefalls. I tried salty areas for a while and got nothing, tried foul and got it first try.

I see most folks saying stonefalls. It's probably just coincidence, but maybe try there.

Friend and I got ours in Galen while we were also going for a lead, from Lake water.

I got mine in Eastmarch, halfway through my first fishing hole.

Vvardenfell bosses and dolmens have not been similarly generous.

Update for my own question: got mine from the 4th hole in Blackwood.

It took me 104 pulls to get it. No idea of how long that is but couldn't have possible been more than 2 hours.

Took me about three hours of non stop fishing. Finally got it in North Elsweyr after fully completing Craglorn and Skyrim fishing achievements along the way. A guildmate came to join me in Craglorn and got it in 5 minutes there.

Got the drop within 3 mins of fishing. So much for “extremely rare”. Meanwhile spent hours farming the Ul-var & Sunna’rah staves & got sweet f….

So it's basically same rng as ever, so not a rarity but a grindity at best (or worst?)

Got mine in Deshaan after around 30 minutes of rather relaxing fishing. Really happy to finally have it after 10 years. Always regretted not knowing it could be fished up in stonefalls back in 2014.

I used sharp and all fishing champion point perks.

My main account on NA: got it in 2 reel-ins
My main account on EU: got it in 6 reel-ins
My second account on NA: 208 232 reel-ins, and still haven't gotten it

About 100 reel-ins into the second account, I double- and triple-checked to make sure that I really hadn't gotten it.

Got it in Eastmarch, ~100 tries with all fishing buffs. I rarely fish and have very few fishing achievements unlocked.

Pulled Trueflame from the lake south of Sulipund Grange in Vvardenfell, running back a forth between fishing spots and Wuyuvus the world boss. Had it within fishing out 10 or so fishing holes, remained at Sulipund Grange fighting the boss for about 2 hours and didn't get either the Sunna’rah Replica or the Barbas Helmet Replica.

I got mine in The Reach, at a river water hole near Markarth. Got the page with the 8th reel-in. I do not use any fishing buffs or CP points to enhance fishing.

i was able to get trueflame last night with about 60-70 tries, with the only fishing buffs being sharp, and cp

i personally dont think fishing buffs do anything for trueflame because its not a rare fish, most fishing buffs only increase the chances to find rare fish, not anything else

i was also able to get the staff of worms last night in about a dozen dolmens, no luck on ulvor staff from the geysers though

Got Trueflame at the end of the first fishing hole. Farmed for Barbas - got Sunna'rah instead after about 6 or 7 world boss kills. No sign of Barbas six hours later. No luck with Staff of Worms at dolmens either.

Other guildmates were reporting that their first one or two pages were decently quick but couldn't get a third after several hours.

We'll see if RNG is more favorable today.
