UI Font Rendering
The game now uses a new UI font rendering system. This allows for future improvements to the game and provides small enhancements in some specific situations, such as nameplates and chat bubbles.
Addon creators can find a new tool, slugfont.exe, in the game directory that allows them to update their use of custom fonts to be compatible with the new system. Addons that make use of custom fonts will instead use default fonts until they receive an update, and fonts included with the game will continue to work without requiring an update. Instructions are provided in slugfont_readme.txt.

For me the issue is that it's extremely sharp and thin. 1920x1080p monitor.

I have been looking all over on several sites. Haven't found any yet.

I can foresee this being a problem for me in Cyrodiil or PvE pugs when I'm trying to glance at chat but don't necessarily have the time to stop and select the chat window.
I'm playing in windowed fullscreen btw, which doesn't let me choose the resolution but Windows is set at 1920x1080.

This is also exactly how it's like for me as well. I don't like it one bit. Surely there will be a way to revert back to the first picture?
Survey maps have changed font too

Edit: just want to clarify the font isn't bigger in the top pic, I just had the chat window stretched out wider.
The new font is unpleasant and blurry, and changing the UI scaling doesn't seem to help a lot. I'm playing on 1080p.
Like others described before, it really feels like a font hinting issue. I think we'd all appreciate it if you could give it another look and improve the sharpness and clarity.
just to add a note: my friends and guildmates in Discord say it is OK for 1440p, but blurry for 1080p.
but, hey, my monitor is 2560x1080 in Full-Screen and i can not produce them fancy 1440p..
so, maybe, Developers could try the new feature on the resolutions players do use the most?
i am sure, game client collects and transfers information about players monitors to Zenimax.
