I believe that almost every PC player uses add-ons as they add quality of life to our experience. So PC players, do you use Add-ons?

I play on both console and PC, and my opinion is that it is not possible to play more than casually on console. Just about everything that is interesting to do in this game is improved by one addon or another.

Yes, I use add-ons that increase the immersive/RP aspects of ESO and the only add-ons I use for convenience are for skyshards/Shalidor's library books.

I don't use add-ons like TTC or similar things.

I only use a few compared to many people I know (because I hate troubleshooting them after updates), but they are vital and I would play significantly less without them.

No, they completely change the ESO experience into a spreadsheet/UI clutter instead of a game.

Also, I do consider some add-ons cheats, as they offer a clear advantage over other players who are not using add-ons. Like the ones that show resource nodes, treasure chests, thieves troves, and other locations. The ones that auto-repair/autocharge weapons and such. And many more. which are a clear advantage over other players without add-ons. I also consider some add-ons forms of botting, like the crafting writ add-ons. And feel ZOS should not allow that, as they are basically removing crafting as a specific part of the game for players to enjoy/specialize in. They would never allow the same automation add-ons for dungeons/trials/PvP/arena's, but somehow they allow it in this one specific part of the game.

In my opinion, which most players disagree with, ZOS should remove ALL add-ons from the game completely. At the very least ZOS should remove all add-ons that grant advantages over other players(no matter how small), and all add-ons from PvP completely.

PS: It's ok to disagree with me! :)
PPS: I'm not against adding some basic add-on functionality to the base game, as that would be a level playing field for everyone still.

If ZOS does nothing else this year, they should enable the minimap on console.

I agree. I tried to play without it it once when it was acting up after an update and I was unable to do anything except housing and other things that didn't require me moving around the world. Without it I had to stop every few seconds and open the big map to see where I was. I just can't play that way.

I don't use them on live as I believe they add unfair advantages, can break immersion, and can lead to shortcuts being taken in development.

I use them on the PTS because it makes it easier to provide more accurate feedback.

      When i play on pc i don't.
i don't need them on PlayStation.

they seem nice, but very complicated.
and the addons that would be helpful like a minimap cover up a part of my screen which i am used to being able to see

No. I want my games vanilla, if possible.
Last time I went on a modding spree was with Morrowind, and the mods ruined the game for me (it didn‘t feel like MW anymore), so I got rid of them.

The last two mods I used were with Oblivion; one fixed the butchered localization (funny situations arose because healing spells were called ‚fireball‘, IIRC), and the other one added beautiful horses with rare coat patterns - it was made by a member of this forum.

I do use addons, but most of mine only show up in menus, or are totally invisible and just add a keybind or something, and several of the ones which do show in the UI actually make it even more minimal. My approach is when something is annoying me I look for an addon to make it less annoying.)

Here's a quick comparison I did. In the first screenshot I have 19 addons active, in the second they're all turned off and I'm using only base-game settings.
      ZdR6uVK.png
      C6dzQph.png

If you want to play 'spot the difference' I'll save you some trouble and tell you there's only 4 which are visible there, and one of those only by looking for what's moved or missing.

I could have gotten another 3 to show, but not easily - wait for someone to speak to show pChat has changed the font, unnecessarily reload my controls in Binder to get the confirmation message in the chat box and find a quest NPC without a marker for PinKiller. I could also have opened the Inventory Insight and CraftStore menus but that would be getting silly since no one would actually have those open in combat. (On the other hand I could have used the chat command to hide Endeavour Tracker since I normally do that when I'm not working on endeavours.)

Outside combat I usually have nothing on screen except the mini map and current quest.

      My full list is:
      • Account Settings - automatically copies settings between characters
      • Arkadius' Trade Tools - recommened prices and sales reports
      • Azurah - moves, hides and modifies the base game UI
      • BankerShutUp - silences bankers and adds a mute button to dialogue boxes
      • Binder - saves multiple sets of keybindings and lets you load them with chat commands
      • CraftStore - A bunch of crafting info, I mainly use it to check which motifs I have
      • Decluttered Scrying Leads - hides the always available leads in the 'All active leads' list
      • Endeavour Tracker - shows current endeavours on screen
      • Inventory Insight - a menu to check other characters inventories, your bank, houses etc.
      • IsJusta Favorite Collectibles - allows character specific favourites & adds favourites to more categories
      • pChat - saves chat & adds more settings to the chat box
      • Pet Dismiss - adds a keybind to dismiss warden and sorcerer pets
      • PinKiller - lets you hide quest markers, I just keep the ones for new quests
      • RandomMount - randomises mounts and pets, also allows the random list to be different to favourites
      • S'rendarr - more customisable buff/debuff tracking
      • Tamriel Trade Centre - recommended prices
      • Votan's Crafting Quick Access - Adds drop-down menus to the crafting menu for choosing item type, material, motif etc. instead of scrolling all the way through the lists (most importantly puts motifs into alphabetical order)
      • Votan's Minimap - reenables the minimap ZOS built, kept in the game but hid from players.
      • World Map Wayshrines Controller - lets you hide unnecessary pins on the world map, I have everything except wayshrines and owned houses hidden, which makes them easier to click on.

I also have Quest Map, which adds map markers for quests but I only turn that on briefly when I think I've finished a zone to check I haven't missed anything.

Yes, I use add-ons (mainly cmx for creating and testing builds as well as minor QoL-addons like PortToFriendsHouse).

Definitely would stop p(l)aying if zos would stop supporting these useful tools.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

i think i currently use something like 30 different addons, though most are small mainly info bonuses that i feel the game does not tell you very much about

some are even simpler as in "keeps the xp bar enabled at all times" because theres no game option to prevent it from fading out

If by the "xp bar" you mean your health bar, the base game does allow you to set it to be visible at all times, stam and mag bar too, it's first thing I do on new characters.

I said yes but I use very few and none that add anything to the UI I see whilst playing. 🙂
