There is no way such item can compete with others. Got to be something else:
    - adds 10-20% to all resources recovery
    and/or
    - damage bonus must be 30% at least
    and/or
    - ability to use secondary mythic (enabled)

I'm not sure where it would be useful. Oakensoul seems like it would be better if you wanted to be tankier and do more damage.

One of the new PvP sets gives your attacker penetration and weapon/spell damage bonuses based upon how many Major and Minor buffs you have on you. Oakensoul gives you five Major and eleven Minor buffs at all times.

Oakensoul users are going to get wrecked. Percentage buff users, like this new mythic wearers, will be relatively immune to the new set.

What if they tweaked the bonus from the ring so that at base line it's +20% dmg, +20% resist, +20% healing but for every set bonus that is deactivated due to this ring, the effects on the ring are increased depending on the weight of the item set bonus.

for example, if the increase was 10% per piece disabled (which would be nuts), then disabling a 3/5 medium set bonus would increase the +20% dmg on the ring to +50%

Might be good on a werewolf, but still better options than this

It looks worthless, especially on Werewolf. Why would anyone throw away their set bonuses when building for a playstyle which cannot source buffs and effects that aren't within their single skill line? At least with set bonuses, Werewolf can try to get the same buffs and effects which are readily available in non-Werewolf skill lines, such as healing over time or Minor Resolve.

Might be ok if it only disabled 5pc bonuses in no proc pvp but as it currently is I dont see any scenario this thing could be useful at all a new player will not be able to obtain this early enough to make use of it before they are capable of getting some of the more useful sets in the game so the new player argument kinda flys out the window instantly

Whoever uses this is going to have to load up on major & minor buffs too since they're losing crit, base resources, resource recoveries, etc etc etc that they would otherwise get from set bonuses. They might not get quite as wrecked by wearers of the new set as an Oakensoul user, but they'll certainly get wrecked more readily than anyone who avoids this new mythic entirely - and definitely be more vulnerable in PvP in general.

I honestly can't think of a single scenario where I'd bother wearing this. You sacrifice far too much for far too little.

You'll get far more of these from mundus, CP, weapon, armor, class, world, and guild skills as well as weapon, armor, class, world, guild, and racial passives than you will from three armor sets. Not to mention buffs from up to 11 group members and other nearby allies as well. And the 20% bonuses from the new mythic will stack with all these buffs.

Agree with most of the comments here.

From my point of view, it's current state is just boring, as it removed the entirety of all build variety (with regards to gear).
If it were to alter the effect of say, proc sets (i.e. nerf proc set damage but buff class skills damage) then it would be interesting.
AS it is, as many have said above....who is this for? It's unobtainable for new players but useless for experienced players (DPS get better damage from every other set in the game, tank+heal would never drop their group-utility buff sets for this, PvP players would not drop the sustain/pressure from existing sets etc)

yeah i feel like this item really needs some kind of +recovery or +max resources, or +crit to make up for common 2-4 pc set bonuses

even the 20% dmg bonus itself is pretty low, considering like arcanist and templar get 15% flat dmg bonus to their main attacks from the deadly set, but without the huge penalty of losing all other set bonuses

This mythic is for super lazy and poor players to bring a sub level 50 character into Cyrodiil, with success.

I say lazy because you just transmute one thing and go. Obviously still better to transmute full sets.

you cant use mythics on sub 50s, as they only appear at cp160 level

The pts description does say a new mythic for "Adventurers". Maybe the dev's are being literal and this mythic is specifically designed for the player who just wants to role play as an adventurer, and wants nothing to do with content that relies heavily on item set bonuses.

Nothing wrong with that. Just trying to imagine what play style this mythic would fit into.

No joke, I have a character kind of like that, and I'm maybe contemplating this for her.

I'm actually downloading the PTS to compare this to her current gear sets, which are mostly boring weapon damage boosters like Automaton and Sword-Singer. But even in this very specific situation, I'm dubious about this mythic.

I love this discussion from people that know the game and cannot figure out a use for this mythic. If it is intended for new players how the heck would they know that? ZOS could just comment on it's intended purpose - we know how great they usually are at communicating.

i dont think any mythic is intended for new players, considering the level of effort it takes to get it (antiquity skill lines of rank 8 + all of the content required to farm the leads), not to mention the fact that mythics are only useable at cp160

It cancels ALL benefits (not just the 5th) of any sets according to the posts above.

Should have released Harvester's Hope Ring instead in my opinion but whatever. Without power creep it is/will become increasingly difficult to add new interesting sets/mythics into the game which affect combat.

I honestly can't think of a single scenario where this item would be functional as it currently is. I could get behind it if it just turned off 5p bonuses, but as is the benefits would need to be tuned incredibly high to make up for essentially removing all of your stats except for armor and traits.

it also kind of shoots itself in the foot in that, if it's good enough to play with or prop up a gameplay style, then there is no reason to get gear, but if it's not good enough to do that then there is no reason to acquire it. It needs to allow some kind of item bonuses, even if it's just 1-2p or 1-3p.

i think the only useable use case of this mythic is probably for no proc cyro lol

it would be great for someone who is just starting to get into it, without needing to theory craft anything outside of armor weight + trait + enchantment for all gear aside from the mythic

some of these mythics they should make easier to get such as this one as it has extremely niche use cases

Losing the set bonuses from Hundings Rage is probably not worth this mythic, but I agree the nocp, no proc is the only feasible use case I can think of.

It has to be a mistake, they had to have meant lose the 5 piece bonus.

The idiom "jumping the shark" or "jump the shark" is a pejorative that is used to argue that a creative work or entity has reached a point in which it has exhausted its core intent and is introducing new ideas that are discordant with, or an extreme exaggeration of, its original purpose
