I see people mentioning sets together with this item. But someone at the start of the tread wrote that ALL set's bonuses are disabled, not just the 5th one. So, what is the point of wearing sets with it? Why not wear just regular armor with enchants? Am I missing something?

No you’re not missing anything, not even 1 piece set bonuses work with it.

There is one niche where this mythic would shine, and it’s for any player made competitions, problem is that there is no visual indicator when a player is wearing it.

If player made competitions were the reason behind adding this item then, yes, a visual indicator should be added. If that was NOT the reason, I would really want to know what are the situations in which they thought this item would be useful.

This was my thoughts too, it puts every class into the same baseline in regards to gear and shows the differences between the class kits and what needs adjusting.

First, we had the "no bar swap" Mythic

Then, we got the "no weaving" Mythic

Now, we have the "no sets" Mythic
    cxogmj9l8nha.png

My guess for the next Mythic will be "no passives"
(1 item) Disable all Passives. Increase Weapon and Spell Damage by 20%. Increase Max Health, Stamina, and Magicka by 4000. Increase Critical Damage and Healing by 30%.

I was going to Disable all Skills, but that might be too far.

It might have some bonuses to certain builds of course since we have tons of combinations.

But it is good mythic for a new player but they have no way to acquire it while they are still a new player. By the time they acquire it they will be not needing it anyway. This item could be introduced with a quest once per account, once a player reaches certain level with their first character.

If you ever logged normal crag pug trial, you'd see number of people not running full sets. Just a bunch of random armor pieces including setless gear, 2-3 matching set items at best. These players would massively benefit from mythic like this. Also from reading any starter guide, but they probably don't care enough.

This mythic is not bad on a bash build.

Deadlands Demolisher and Veiled Heritance with Impenetrable trait

    With mythic = 5089 bash damage, 3316 wd/sd, 700 pen, 25k armor, 20% damage reduction, 20% healing
    Without mythic = 6226 bash damage, 3682 wd/sd, 2187 pen, 28k armor

This is acceptable in some scenarios for the extra 20% bonuses.

You can go full Divines to make up some of the difference since 20% damage reduction is quite a bit.

Why does it matter what sets you wear? The mythic disables the whole set, not just the five piece effects

    The mythic is not good.

Just did a quick comparison check the damage of my abilities from wearing it and not wearing it. Slotting this mythic doesn't even make up for the loss of the set bonuses of 1 DPS set (not even counting the proc effects of the 5 piece).

All this mythic will be used for is newer players who don't have a proper build put together yet, or someone who wants to give themselves a challenge by essentially going gearless.

Put simply, post nerf Oakensoul is better than this mythic.

Yes I understand all item bonuses are disabled and not just 5pc bonuses. I've already tested it on PTS.

When wearing The Last Ayleid King, you still have very good bash build stats. The reason is because you get a ton of bash damage from sources other than item set bonuses. Bash jewelry, Deadly Bash passive, bash CP, armor, etc. It all adds up to over 5k tooltip bash damage and 3.3k wd/sd when self-buffed.

3k bash damage is always non-armor sourced, meaning Power Slam still has a total 6.3k equivalent wd/sd with The Last Ayleid King. Most players don't have 6.3k wd/sd for their spammable without group buffs. The mythic also gives 20% damage reduction which is more mitigation than Aetherial Ascension and 20% healing which is more healing than Healer's Habit.

Another way to think about it is your damage, mitigation, and healing will be roughly the same when wearing The Last Ayleid King with all item bonuses disabled versus wearing Deadlands Demolisher + Aetherial Ascension + Healer's Habit with item bonuses enabled.

Sure it's not meta damage. For that you still want Deadlands + SF/Acuity + Sea Serpent. But it's not always about damage.

If they increased the modifiers from 20% to 25% then I would drop Deadlands, Aetherial Ascension, and Sithis on my Sorc "balanced brawler" bash build and use The Last Ayleid King instead. The math adds up.

Players who have decent build with nice set combos: This Mythic is trash !

Players with random pieces of green - blue quest reward sets: This Mythic is amazing !

    :joy::D

Now, jokes aside I am struggling to think of what is the idea & reason behind adding this Mythic. Players with decent builds won't use this. New players who don't have decent gear sets yet would use it, but most likely it is way easier to get overland /crafted sets than getting a Mythic item. It is kind like Salvation set which is supposed to aid leveling WW skill line faster, but in the end no one uses it cuz there are far better options.

This is the strongest set in the game, because you must understand all the basics of theorycraft in order to achieve similar indicators in pvp, and builds with such indicators are not publicly available (they are distributed only among friends)
This set was introduced for casual players so that you can immediately break into high-rated battles without spending many months creating a build.
Now this necklace is too powerful because any set of sets of the player writing here will be weaker than this necklace alone
My best build was only able to surpass it in tooltip by 10% (and I have been doing theorycraft for many thousands of hours)

P.S.Regular set of 5 pieces - gives an average of 15% player gain
A full set with a master weapon, two full sets and a monster set gives 46-50% player gain
My best build gives 70% gain
The same ring gives 60% of the base without requiring anything in return

P.P.S. This set will be nerfed to 15% because it's too powerful now

But this is the standard modus operandi. Get people to buy the DLC, then after a few months nerf the strengths.

It's how things have been done for years.

The only way this is not true for the new mythic is if all the leads for it drop in the base game.

If they bumped it from 20% -> 25% then I think this would be a good mythic for many players.
Honestly, you can't bump this to where it becomes viable outside very niche situations. It's the anti-build-crafting mythic. It basically says "forget the stickerbook", "forget the 500+ armor sets from the past 10 years", "everything you previously farmed is worthless". If that worked, the combat devs would be out of a job. Maybe that's the idea.

This mythic will be perfect for dueling tournaments

Have you had a chance to see if there’s an active buff/debuff visible on other players while they have it equipped?

I know it has no animation, but before I do a write-up about it’s need for one, I need to know if something’s visible on their bar.

This can't possibly equalize dueling because it doesn't equalize CP (which functionally caps out around 1400). That would make it a helpful approximation of Battlegrounds builds, which are a lot more accessible in that way.

There might be some niche uses for it--maybe I'll use it on some of my characters that I don't want to gear up.

I'd repeat what I said in the other thread, that maybe it should buff enchantments, Mundus Stones, or traits somehow so that there's still some build choice. But that would rebalance it pretty considerably.

Remove all sets bonus it’s pretty bad. Only 20% damage, heal, mitigation .

No crit chance or crit damage. No empower. No armor. No recovery. No proc, no self healing, no cost reduction, no healing done, and no damage shield

Man what a list to see if 3 pros and over 10 things you won’t get. Really bad trade off.

Good point, they could tack on another 15% to everything and have it disable CP too.

Even if they don’t, as long as you’re fighting players above the CP passives threshold, it should balance out fairly.

But it won't even be that much harder. If this is the answer to vet overland, the buff needs to be changed to a debuff
Add a Scribing skill that works like Arcanist beam.
    ---
Veteran players have been alienated and disengaged from Overland since One Tamriel, due to the lack of difficulty, and pushed into dungeons and trials; the minority of content in the Elder Scrolls Online. We can't take the repetition anymore, fix Overland engagement for Vet players. I don't even care if it's not combat related anymore, just make Overland engaging again.
    ---
Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 10 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. Make a self debuff mythic. Literally anything at this point.

If you're fully supported and have golded out gear I could see this eeking ahead of many stat based builds outside of their spike. But the ceiling would be so much lower, and not having that spike would make it hard to do anything productive.
