OK but what if after the very long celebration of more than a year for the 10th year anniversary, they decide to shut the game down and end it all on a very high note??

Possibly starting over with something newer with anticheat built in but another newer verision of eso? what then?

I wondered about that too, because the live stream starts at 8am on a work day for me. Then I realised I could watch it using the Twitch app on my phone, in fact even if I'm not actively watching it I can still get the Twitch drops from it.

I believe there will be more drop campaigns running for a week after the Global Reveal, like it has been for many previous livestreams.

Yes, usually if you can catch a stream in one of the other areas (various in EU IIRC - UK, Germany?) you can get the drops there. Those times might work better for some.

Another solution would be mineral salts. For red, you'd need strontium chloride, for pink lithium, and for blue I have no clue, to be honest. Green looks better anyway and copper isn't that hard to find, either.

Y'know.... reading the title again....

"Uncover the future of Tamriel" - for some reason this morning that struck me as ominous. I remember some statements from the WoW devs similar before they ruined the world (AKA the Cataclysm)....

Interesting point. It is possible they have spent the last couple of years changing the whole game like Blizzard did. Somehow, I doubt it, but it is possible. The 10 year point would seem to be a milestone if they wanted to do that.

In fact, I did the poo poo thing a few days ago, but it was only half hearted. Just poo.

ZOS introduced a character archetype and a whole plot where they could do that. It isn't so much about whether the story could go there. It definitely could. It is more about whether that is where ZOS took the story. Probably not. Well, maybe a little, but, eh, you know, probably not. But, maybe a little.

Cataclysm did not ruin wow, it made the base game better. Goblins and Worgen were a nice addition. I'd love to see new races added to ESO, that kind of stuff freshens up the game and makes a ton of money through race change tokens.

Tol Barad was some of the best PVP I had in wow. I really enjoyed that time. If ESO did the same, I'd see nothing but rainbows and sunshine.

I just spent HOW much on the gladesong arboretum!?!?!?!?! I hope they don't do this.

Honestly when the time comes I hope they release the game as a single player so I have access to everything I've payed for over the years. 10 years is a long time. Personally I hope this game goes further then 20 years. I hope this game stays active for the rest of my life. Maybe that's crazy but I'm so attached to the world of elder scrolls and to my characters. If the servers ever ended it would feel like a huge loss.

Personally, I'm hoping that 2024 will be the year of PvP.

ESO was originally sold in 2014 as this game that would have massive PvP battles and an EPIC war in Cyrodiil! I remember seeing trailers with 100 players and siege weapons and amazing PvP combat! But that war has become such a minor footnote in ESO in 2024. You can hardly even tell there's a war at all. As a 10th anniversary update, I'd love to see a return to the Three Banners War as a main story point, along with a total redesign of Cyrodiil.

Plus, with all of the Cyrodiil testing and hardware investments, the proximity to Cyrodiil & The Gold Coast. I would love to see a PvP Cyrodiil zone that incorporates the Brotherhood and the Alliance War.

We'll agree to disagree on that. It was the beginning of the end for me. And by that time, I wasn't pvp'ing any more at all, so never got into that after Cata dropped.

I stuck it out through MoP, then looked at the amount of unhappy stuff I was sitting on top of, and just quit. My sister and nephew are still playing and still enjoy it. Daughter and SIL went back for Classic but have dropped it again. I thnk they go back when something new lands and play through it then quit again.

Actually, the only thing I miss about WoW is my hunters....

I agree with that. I've been playing wow since 2005 (in 2005, I was in kindergarten; lol)and I really loved that game. The quests, the exploration, dungeons, and that I can play as a night elf druid who turns into a panther.

My favorite wow expansions were base game( original/vanilla), the burning crusade, cataclysm, warlords, legion, and battle for Azeroth.

Wow was good up until shadow lands.
The one expansion that ruined wow for me. That whole expansion did not make any sense, characters were badly written, too many systems that no one wanted (except for the content creators), and it was full of endless bugs. The only good thing about shadow lands was the new character customizations.

I'm glad eso isn't following the path that wow is following. Compared to wow I think eso is a much better game right now. I really enjoy the quest, dungeons, creating characters, and exploring in Elderscrolls.

There is no War anymore, only the Ball Group.

Can we get confirmation that we can earn rewards if we aren't able to make the stream when it goes live? I think last year we could watch a replay or something, but I was able to make it live so I don't remember for sure.

I can only confirm that friends of mine got the rewards for watching EU streams since they were working at the time of the NA stream.

It's the hourglass of Akatosh. It's broken. Time is broken. Everyone will talk backwards and people will rise from graves to enter the world as old people. And Hermaeus Mora will lose more and more of his knowledge every day. Not sure what the player character is supposed to do, though. I'd probably just sit and watch.
