Where do you like doing your daily crafting writs and why?

    Daggerfall.

It's always been my favourite city in the game since I first landed there in 2014! I have kitted out the house opposite the Bank with all crafting tables, so I tend to bank, list items for sale, do crafting writs, then Wayshrine out to wherever I'm going that day.

Other than Daggerfall, Vice City and Alinor run close joint second. That's about proximity of bank, wayshrine, and crafting tables.

I normally do Vulkel Guard out of habit more than anything else. I have a 'set routine' and can generally complete them on 7 characters in about 25 minutes. I sometimes 'load up' on Jewellry and Glyphs and of course have the passive for extra portions on the Provisioning and Alchemist writs - becasue I've noticed they go in a standard rotation.

Haven't really bothered working out the Blacksmith / Clothier / Woodwork rotations as they are 'outside' so don't require loading screens.

If I get a chance at the weekend I may try doing the writs at Leyawiin.

i generally avoid doing daily writs like the plague lol

when i have done them (because the devs feel that hiding leads in daily writs is a fun time), i usually do them in the elden root in grahtwood because thats where im normally doing bag management, but i also will do them in other zones too (high isle i felt was a pretty efficient location to do them)

Totally get it! I don't do them much nowadays or really anything that feels like work/unfun to me. I prefer picking flowers, doing up the house, RPing and admiring the scenery. Never force anything. But since they only take a few minutes, I do them on 2 characters (the others aren't worth it unless I level them up which I can't be bothered to do). I would recommend doing them sometimes at least on your maxxed out characters (Blacksmithing, Clothing and Jewelcrafting at least) for the chance of the gold mats which seem to drop quite often. Of course, I also have like 13k and such raw unrefined material like ruby ash wood just sitting about. I couldn't imagine having to go out farming materials every time for them ugh. I have about 300+ Dreugh Wax and other mats that I will never use but they're very valuable to people that do want them. If you want a little extra gold it's worth doing sometimes. :)

i did them much more frequently back in the day when they were released (to get the 250 daily writ achievement)

however i dont do the writs because to me it feels not just a massive waste of time, but also resources

i dont feel like i get gold mats any more likely from daily writs as from refining or decon, and in fact i generally get garbage from the writs

take a smithing one for example, you have to spend ~45 ruby ingots to make the items, and on avg i get no tempers and no surveys, and a container filled with lower tier absolutely useless mats (so ill spend 45 ruby ingots to get like 10 lvl 40 mats and 10 lvl 30 mats that i would never ever use because all of my toons are cp lvl)

i would rather just go out and harvest my own mats and refine, play tribute, or decon stuff i got from farming because all of those sources of mats are 100% totally free and im not spending my own resources to get them (i would rather sell the mats than use them on daily writs)

so for me doing daily writs just feels painful, mostly because it feels like a giant waste of mats (i especially will refuse to do alchemy writs as those mats sell for the most lol), and i tend to only do them at all now when there are leads that are put in them

Everything needed to do both daily crafting writs and master writs is in close proximity, including a wayshrine so I can bounce to the master writ crafting stations I don't yet have.

Agree, except for the NPC I pass in the hallway into the crafting room who apparently lives a miserable existence and wants to tell everyone about it.

    All over

    Any of my characters still doing mount training stay in Rawl’kha. Everyone else is wherever feels right for that character, and that’s where I do writs. I have at least one toon in each;

    Solitude
    Sentinel
    Vivec
    Rimmen
    Hollow City
    Marbruk
    Velyn Harbor
    Shornhelm
    Riften
    Mournhold
    Alinor

Cities I refuse to park a toon for writs:

Solitude in Western Skyrim, can't believe that's not an option. If you have a good SSD and virtually no load times then this area is just as fast as the best of them, and the quartermaster is just a jump away with a mount.

Yeah Blackwood, everything is pretty close together. That and when I returned to the game, Blackwood was the first event I participated in and since then it's been quasi home to a number of my toons. Wait Leyawiin was a choice? Must be going blind, the Pope said that would happen.

Gonfalon bay. All the stations in one building and the turn ins right outside + horse is just up the stairs. Only downside is the enter/exit load screens, but isn't that big of a deal timewise.

My old spot used to be rawkala, but gladly moved to high isle so I never have to hear about fin-whatever his name is, the wood elf ever again.

Vivec if you want to also feed your horses. Doing them at 80 seconds per character on average is possible when on PC (loading screens included). If you don't need to feed horses go to Leyawiin. There you can reach 50 seconds and less per character.

    Vivec City
Vivec City is a great spot for veteran characters focused on writs and bank access.

For new characters I prefer Stormhold in Shadowfen. The craft stations and writ boards are close together, and the distance to drop off is the same as Rawl'ka if you know to cut through the river. You also have a brewer and chef next to the cooking fire and stables next to the wayshrine. There's a bank, outlaw refuge (also compact), bag merchant, player house, guild traders, outfit station all close by, and the bonus of 4 heavy sacks.

    Rimmen
I have characters stationed in Rimmen, Alinor, Vivec City, Rawl’kha, and Davon’s Watch — all locations are fairly convenient and I like having different “home bases” for different characters. But if I have to choose one, it’s Rimmen, because I started the game with Elsweyr, and the bard in the crafting area is my favorite.

I only do writs on one character, and I love Velyn Harbor because

    1. My character is a Bosmer (Elden Root has a more appropriate vibe, but it's so busy)
    2. It's decently convenient
    3. Most importantly, it is oh so quiet and peaceful, ahhhh.

Stormhold in Shadowfen, because it's my home. Only downside is that for provisioning you have to go through loading screen a door. Otherwise everything is neatly together, and I've stayed there since the beginning so I'm not constantly lost like in everywhere else.

    Evermore. Wait, hear me out!

Nah, its literally the worst one, and I'm probably the only person on Tamriel to do Evermore.

But I'm only doing writs on my main recently, so super efficiency isn't super important.

I always wanted to see Evermore since I played Arena, and I really want the place to mean something. For now, its Writs lol.

Similarly I feel like I’m the only person who does writs in Shornhelm.

But I don’t think Evermore is the worst. That’s a tossup between Wayrest and Orsinium.

Usually Mournhold because I've got decent hang of the area, and it doesn't have vivec issue of population tanking my fps - also guild dailies are in same area.

Currently tho, I'm doing them in Necrom due to event dailies being in same area. I may actually stick to Necrom after the event, I think I am getting full rotation faster than in mournhold, and it doesn't have vivec issues atm....

    Leyawiin
I like Leyawiin and Vivec. I use Leyawiin more because my characters are mostly fully horse trained and everything else including outfit station is really near for crafting and trade in Leyawiin. Admittedly in Vivec the thieves guild is nearer but I use that a little less and the layout in Leyawiin makes it quicker to blast through writs.

    Alinor
Because Alinor is just as convenient as Vivec, but with the added bonus of not looking like a bombed mess of a construction zone.

Jokes aside Alinor is my favorite, but I do writs in Alinor, Vivec, Leyawinn, Gonfalon Bay, Rimmen, Solitude, and Necrom equally with 13 characters spread out in each city. It keeps me from going insane having to see the same city 13 times.
