    Leyawiin
Until last Autumn I did writs on all my toons in Leyawiin.

With all the madness last year I deleted all toons except one for each class. And they all do their writs in their respective home city or nearby, when there isn't any. So my answers are:
    • Gonfalon Bay (because no can do on Stros m'kai)
    • Alinor
    • Riften
    • Solitude
    • Leyawiin
    • Vivec City
    • Necrom

I have noticed a significant drop in boredom while doing writs. I can recommend it to anyone who enjoys their sanity.

If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

i generally avoid doing daily writs like the plague lol

when i have done them (because the devs feel that hiding leads in daily writs is a fun time), i usually do them in the elden root in grahtwood because thats where im normally doing bag management, but i also will do them in other zones too (high isle i felt was a pretty efficient location to do them)

Totally get it! I don't do them much nowadays or really anything that feels like work/unfun to me. I prefer picking flowers, doing up the house, RPing and admiring the scenery. Never force anything. But since they only take a few minutes, I do them on 2 characters (the others aren't worth it unless I level them up which I can't be bothered to do). I would recommend doing them sometimes at least on your maxxed out characters (Blacksmithing, Clothing and Jewelcrafting at least) for the chance of the gold mats which seem to drop quite often. Of course, I also have like 13k and such raw unrefined material like ruby ash wood just sitting about. I couldn't imagine having to go out farming materials every time for them ugh. I have about 300+ Dreugh Wax and other mats that I will never use but they're very valuable to people that do want them. If you want a little extra gold it's worth doing sometimes. :)

My house, because the Lazy Writ Crafter addon will pull premade consumables from one of my chests, but I ned to visit my house for that to work. So I pick up my writs in Vulkhel Guard (for the feels), port to my house to craft, then port to Belkarth to hand them in.

If I do daily writs, I do them at Mournhold, Deshaan.

I've been doing them there since 2016 and will probably continue to do so onwards.

The master-writ vendors are close by.

Equipment crafting tables and provisioning in large building, enchanting and jewelry in tent, bank in between with no loading screen, and alchemy downstairs. Everything close together.

Downside is horrible zone text chat which is mandatory on console if you want guild text chat, and frequent dueling.

I find Rimmen is a great home base due to the inn room being outside and close to the wayshrine.

The crafting area is nice and spaced out so I can move around easily, especially with fast toons.

Downside is the location of the writ drop off being the other side of the main square, and the bank being behind a door.

I could only put 10 options for the poll so I went with places that I've been often enough to notice there's a large amount of high CP players (mainly Alinor, Vivec City and Leyawiin). The other places are places I've also been or personally use. Eastmarch because Skyrim lol. I sometimes use there because I can port to the house I own there. Honestly, I assumed 99% of people used Vivec City but it's nice to hear where/why other people go elsewhere, whether for efficiency, racial, RP or aesthetic reasons. I thought most people in Mournhold were there just for guild traders but I rarely go there. :)

Rawl’Kha. I started off as AD at launch so old habits die hard. It’s not the most convenient location (Alinor) but it holds a certain sentimental charm. Plus, it’s close to my Sleek Creek home.

I do mine in Rimmen. Habit mostly. I used to have each alt in a different town, but during an Elsweyr event I brought them all to Rimmen to do dailies, and they just stayed. Rimmen is fine. There are no doors, and it is a straight shot to the turn in.

Vulkhel is the town where all my toons are parked, because it's for me the most comfortable.

Reason is simple: there is everything together there. It's all within a rather small zone, on same level and with straight access: crafting stations, bank, guilds, hideout, traders, not to forget the wayshrine and last but not least, even a house allowing for cost free travel from anywhere, straight aside the wayshrine. <3

Vivec because all crafting stations are very close to each other and the writ turn in is close, which makes dailies fast. Also the bank is close and has no loading screen or door to access.

ZOS needs to make more convenient all in one areas like this.

Everything crafting is near the wayshrine (except provisioning, but I premake everything and there's always a stack or two in the bank), and Rolis is nearby. Plus guild stores and the wayshrine.

    Rimmen
My reasons for Rimmen are a mixture of convenience, aesthetics and my craftsman being Khajiiti. I’d rather go to Senchal Although recently, I’ve doing Tales of Tribute dailies, which send players to different zone hubs, so I also craft in several base game cities, and Leyawiin, these days.

Sometimes I wish I could them in small zone cities, but on the other hand, I enjoy the socioeconomic distinction between different cities.

I'm of two minds about that: these convenient writ locations also turn into twilight zoos, with large flapping wings in every direction. That's why I no longer use Vivec City for any of my characters' writs. I did try to ignore them, but after a while I just couldn't anymore.

For most of the game, I've tended to do writs at the most recently-added location. However, Gonfalon Bay and Necrom are kind of a mess in terms of layout, so I've been sticking with Leyawiin for a while now.

I do the writs wherever my characters happen to be; I now have 20 characters which I quest with, because that is how I roll. However when I "park" a character for more than 2 weeks, it's usually in Vivec, Rimmen, Velyn Harbor or Rawl'Kha.

Rimmen - because everything that I need is right next to the wayshrine/the inn room AND I can listen to the best bard in the whole game (Daahin, by the provisioning station) while doing my crafting. Plus, I just love the whole atmosphere of Elsweyr.

For daily writs and convenience factor Leyawiin or Vivec are probably the most convenient I find, but I still do them in Mournhold due to the master writ vendor being right there and next to a wayshrine. I wish they would add a provisioning station much closer to the other ones in Mournhold but that's a fairly minor inconvenience since my crafter has plenty of food/drinks for the dailies stocked up in advance.

I don't do writs there but two of my characters have Evermore as their main city, because they live in Mournoth Keep so it's the nearest one. It's where they return to whenever they need a break from questing.

    @Danikat

That's cool. What do you like about Evermore? Why did you choose Mournoth Keep?
    Shadowfen.

A lot of people seems to hate that place. The result is that the location is more or less empty & not overcrowded. Call me crazy but I actually like it. House & wayshrine is relatively close to the city & crafting quest boards & crafting stations. So doing crafting there (or inside house) is quite fast.

I normally do Vulkel Guard out of habit more than anything else. I have a 'set routine' and can generally complete them on 7 characters in about 25 minutes. I sometimes 'load up' on Jewellry and Glyphs and of course have the passive for extra portions on the Provisioning and Alchemist writs - becasue I've noticed they go in a standard rotation.

Haven't really bothered working out the Blacksmith / Clothier / Woodwork rotations as they are 'outside' so don't require loading screens.

If I get a chance at the weekend I may try doing the writs at Leyawiin.
