Why no Mournhold (Deshaan) in the list?

    Short track. Allows master writs.
Only cons: Jewelry and Enchanting in the building.

I would chose Vivec city, but... you can't fall down in Mournhold, if you lost your focus :)

I could only put 10 options and those are places I've seen lots of people but of course there's so many places you can do the writs. Just had a thought, like why people choose, for example, Leyawiin or Alinor over Vivec City, etc. :)

    Leyawiin
Leyawiin - Everything is very close together, quest boards, crafting stations, boxes to deposit crafted items, guild traders. Only the bank requires a loading screen, but it's so fast that it's not a problem for me at all.

Vivec City. Bankers have no doors, stables are close by for the alts, outlaw refuge is on the way to the drop off area. Also, the Impresario is there as well for the times when an event is running.

I like Rawl'kha in Reaper's March. Like many others I've got my routine and it's just easy to do. Go to the Blacksmith/Woodwork/Tailor board, run up to the other board, summon banker to get Provisions and Alchemy stuff to turn in, and then from there I go to Enchant, Jewelry, Blacksmith, Tailor, Woodwork and then turn in. Done in like, two minutes

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

Oh I was going to put Solitude until I got distracted by only being able to put 10 options lol! Yeah, I sometimes use there but the loading screens are a bit annoying. :)

    Solitude.

Major city in Western Skyrim, THE base for all my characters. Crafting area right above the bank with writs board+delivery point near, stablemaster, merchants, guild traders, guilds and wayshrine all nearby. I haven't come across a more convenient town base yet.

I just don't get why this is not #1 on everyone's list.

I do the daily writs in a different location for each of my crafters. Up until some weeks ago, I had only 1 ESO character, but then I created 7 alt chars to help out with the crafting (and redo some quests I enjoyed first time around). These characters and their daily writ locations are:
    - bosmer (Elden Root)
    - orsimer (Orsinium)
    - altmer (Alinor)
    - dunmer (Davon's Watch)
    - imperial (Vulkhel Guard)
    - khajiit (Rimmen)
    - breton (Gonfalon Bay)
    - nord (Solitude)

Even though some of these locations have a less than ideal layout, I can still do the 8 * 7 daily writs in 30 minutes (in fact, today I managed it in 29.5 minutes :) ), and that includes a horse stables visit for the 7 alts.

I like doing the writs in the different locations, because I then have plenty of variation in the scenery and background music, so it makes the daily writs a bit more fun.

Alinor as I like the layout and it’s in the most beautiful zone. Even when it rains in Summerset, the colouring of the zone is still bright and always makes me feel happy.

I occasionally use Leyawiin, Rawl’kha or Gonfalon Bay and I’m currently using Necrom for my four baby arcanists at the moment.

Lately it's been in Necrom because I'm also doing the zone dailies. Prior to that it was Gonfalon Bay and Leyawiin. Leyawiin remains my favorite for convenience but I really love the look of Gonfalon Bay

This. Mournhold would be even better, master writs turn in is a big plus, but the provisioning station is inconvenient.

I know this is not quite on topic, but: does anyone else find the positioning of the writ turn-in boxes in Gonfalon Bay a bit odd? I find that when I interact with them, my character will sometimes move up the ramp in front of the boxes a bit, or even slide sideways. Other than that, Gonfalon Bay has an ideal layout for these dailies and the horse training also.

I have most of my 100 crafters in leyawiin, because of it's layout.

If you have a banker and have finished mounts, it's one of the fastest spots, but I also like the look of the area.

The rest of my crafters are in vivec waiting to finish their mount training cause its a short ride to the stables.

    Evermore. Wait, hear me out!

Nah, its literally the worst one, and I'm probably the only person on Tamriel to do Evermore.

But I'm only doing writs on my main recently, so super efficiency isn't super important.

I always wanted to see Evermore since I played Arena, and I really want the place to mean something. For now, its Writs lol.

Alinor, but purely for RP purposes, the fact that it's also convenient is a coincidence.

My crafter is a retired soldier, who moved to Summerset because it's one of the more peaceful places he'd visited (and the altmer aren't so bad once you get used to them). He lived in Vulkhel Guard for years and did writs there before finally getting permission to move to the main island when the borders opened.

I don't do writs there but two of my characters have Evermore as their main city, because they live in Mournoth Keep so it's the nearest one. It's where they return to whenever they need a break from questing.

A lot of people seems to hate that place. The result is that the location is more or less empty & not overcrowded. Call me crazy but I actually like it. House & wayshrine is relatively close to the city & crafting quest boards & crafting stations. So doing crafting there (or inside house) is quite fast.
