Weren't we getting a free character slot?

I had 10/10 characters. Didn’t get my new slot until I logged in and it triggered all the messages and mail about the new release.

I had to actually log into one of my 18 characters to unlock free slot. After creating 19th character and taking my first Arcanist to test drive, I wish to buy the last 20th slot. But when I try to buy it, it shows me strange thing:



As if I've never bought any character slot before And when I click on it, it allows me to select 11 more character slots to buy, showing how much crowns it would cost me. I would gladly buy them all, if it was official But as it is, I'm afraid to buy the slot now, to not bug out any of my existing characters. Can somebody please confirm if it's safe to buy 20th character slot like this? I need to start leveling my second Arcanist as soon as possible.

edit: sadly, or luckily, it fixed itself somehow even without relog It started to show proper slot count, so I could buy last one.

yeah, i ended up buying a spot for my archanist cause i didnt think we were getting one .... then after i spent the crowns on it and relogged i got the free slot.... figures

Why are we only getting two character slots though? When we got both Warden and Necromancer classes we were able to expand the the total number of character slots with an extra three character slots for each new class, but this time we only get two extra character slots?

Apologies if this has been discussed and explained previously, but I tried forum searchs for both "character slot" and "character slots" but got zero results!

Is it +2 to the max number of characters on an account and +1 actual character slot?

Mine went from 12 slots to 13 after relog.

Is that right?

Necrom comes with 1 free character slot only.

The maximum number of characters you can have now sits at 20.

We get a maximum of TWO extra character slots: one free from Necrom and one purchased from the Crown Store.

I had 18/18 Character Slots prior to logging in today, after logging in one of my characters I now have 18/19 Character Slots and when I view the Character Slot Upgrades in the Crown Store it shows that I own 11/12 so I can purchase one more.

Hey all, we're looking into this. It sounds like relogging is doing the trick for some. If this is not working for you, could you please let us know the following?

• Did you just purchase Necrom today, or before today?
• What version of Necrom did you purchase? (Standard, Deluxe, Upgrade, etc.)
• Is Necrom greyed-out in the Crown Store for you? (Showing that you definitely have the entitlement on your account.)

I bought Necrom Deluxe on pre-purchase and re-logging worked for me.

Warden also came with 2 slot tough
Slot 13 and 14 with the warden
Slot 15 with levelup reward 6 month or so later
16-18 with necro

Well to be fair Warden was added back in 2017 with the Morrowind chapter so I guess I simply didn't remember that we only got two character slots initially with a third added later. But I do recall that we got three character slots when Elsweyr launched in 2019 and we got Necromancer because I created all three of my Necromancers on the same day, I think it was a day, maybe two after the Elsweyr update as I recall. *shrug*

Bah, passage of time combined with 60+ years of life just means the memory doesn't work as well as it used to unfortunately!

Despite searching both these forums and the internet I can't find any info on whether there will be another character slot added at a later date. Ah well, that's what I get for losing interest in ESO and not paying much attention to what's been happening for the last few months.

This kinda sucks, played earlier didn't get a free slot. So I had to spend 1,500 crowns just so I could play a new character after I purchased the deluxe edition when it was announced. Now only after logging in and out 4-5 times did the free slot show up.

Got jipped out of 1,500 crowns.

No, you get one for purchasing necrom and a second is available in the crown store to buy. There wasn't a free one for pre-purchasing

Before realizing this was just a glitch I almost made the crown purchase in game for the extra character slot. I only hesitated when it said I only had 1 slot left. I assume others did as well.

Is there an update to the issue concerning those of us that still do not have the slot and/or lost an additional slot at this time? I am assuming not, as there has been no further information, but I thought I would ask.

It worked for me, I’m guessing the game only register the additional slot after logging in.

Played game 5h June and noted no extra character slot.
Have completed daily endeavours on all accounts with plus today, 6th June and note the following
Account 1 - I now have my extra character slot
Account 2 - Pre-purchase standard edition (greyed out on crown store "chapters" tab - no extra character slot
Account 3 - Pre-purchase standard edition (greyed out on crown store "chapters" tab - no extra character slot

Multiple alts logging in and out, changing account back and forth, no update to character slot.

It's not really clear whether you mean we would get 2 free character slots or just 2 total character slots?

1 free character slot + 1 new character slot available from the Crown Store = 2 additional character slots added with Necrom. This allows a maximum of 20 characters.

I've been searching for info on character slots for a few days and I've found nothing where anyone from ZOS say that we would be getting 2 free character slots (if that's what you actually meant).

I'm hoping that ZOS actually do have some sort of plan to add a third additional slot (for a max of 21 characters) with a future community level-up event or something. Guess we just have to wait and see what they will do, if anything.

They increased slots from 18 to 20, the first one is free, the second has to be purchased.

Don't remember them saying that chapter purchase was required for a "free" slot. That's not what free means. Everyone should have gotten one regardless.
