HA Nerfs: The Poll

I support heavy attack staying unnerfed because it makes one-bar builds viable. If weapon swapping didn't have that janky delay or oakensoul buffed spammables instead I wouldn't care. As it is though I'd like to try and get into vet trials one day and HA builds are the way to do it for me. I just need to farm the rest of the gear some time...

Whether or not a player uses an HA build or not isn't the issue. The issue is that an HA build should not out perform a build with a good rotation. If a player just wants to hold down one button on their mouse most of the time, they shouldn't be doing as much damage as someone with a good rotation.

And yet HA is not outperforming and they are not just holding down one button. Me thinks you have never played a HA build before.

It doesn’t “out perform” a two bar LA build. That’s a misconception. What it DOES “outperform” are low dps parses on two bar builds. My highest 2 bar parse was 65k, with the current meta gear. For myself personally to push higher, I’ve got to make a choice, and that choice is- do I put my self in that much pain that I have to take time off work for a game, or do I accept the fact that 65k is the maximum I’ll have for a parse.
I’ll take the “lazy” option. It’s fun, it does the job, and hits 85k+ other people don’t have to like it, but it certainly as heck has made veteran trials fill up faster because there’s more ACCESS to that content through the damage on parse. You know, that requirement most vet trials have when organised.
It’s a game. It does not pay the bills, nor is it worth the pain.

If an Oaken HA build is outperforming 2-bars builds, the person running it just isn't very good at 2-bar builds and the ring is designed to help them.

I don't know why this has to be repeated so many times, but here it is again:

HA builds are not outperforming 2-bar builds for skilled 2-bar players.

ZOS is nerfing HA builds (slightly!) because they're "approaching" the numbers of 2-bar builds, NOT outperforming.

If anyone's main argument against 1-bar HA builds is that they're too easy, take it up with ZOS. They designed it that way and have openly said so. You're free to refuse to run one or group with anyone that does, but stop trying to rain on our parade. I love that I can finally participate in dungeons that I couldn't before and focus on mechanics, rather than spending hours futily trying to train my aging hands to push the right buttons in the right sequence with the right timing.

If this is true, can you explain to me how 24/25 top passes in veteran Asylum sanctorium are one bar oakensorcs, the one two bar parse being #11 or so. How is that not "beating" two bar builds if they're doing the most dps by a large margin.

This is NOT another discussion thread if you want to argue about this there’s like… at least 5 other threads you can do so on. I just thought it’d be nice to have an anonymous poll about it to see the opinions of forum users in one place.

You all are just stirring this back up again. We’ve had our weeks of heated discussions going around in circles, we’ve said nearly everything there is to be said. It doesn’t matter anymore. ZOS will take us where ZOS will take us.

If a mod sees this can you please lock this thread? I’m done with the HA discussion, it’s not good for my mental health. I don’t want to keep coming back here to tell people to knock off the discussions and it seems the post popularity has dropped so people aren’t doing the surveys anymore.
