Ask around Google it. A mass reason why many leave this game or don’t stick with it is the combat.
The style is not fun. It’s closer to guitar hero than an elder scrolls game. Many people aren’t happy with the combat save for a few elite players who like click click pew pew.
Changes need to be made to make the game more fun. There can’t be just one style of play especially one based on a bug that should have been patched out from the jump.
And no I worked my ass off with my normal build
To hit around 18-20k (depending on pain meds) to push my dps without this build and one hand that has almost zero feeling due to a severed nerve from a machine accident that never healed right. And the rest severe carpal tunnel.
I already practiced a rotation I can bar swap
I can weave. I don’t like it and it causes me pain.
It’s not like I never learned. This build allows me to enjoy more of the game in a feasible way.
Again my goals are to do dungeons / vet dungeons and solo arenas on the hardest possible mode and solo world bosses.
With my prior build I was getting usually 15k sometimes again if I coukd push my hands harder I could hit 18-20k but it’s all the pauses to stop
For pain I can’t keep
Doing it consistently. I wasn’t strong enough to do much dungeons because I couldn’t keep
Playing I had to stop clicking.
For a world boss same thing.
I don’t think people get different people have severe injuries which lead to disabilities.
I worked as a press operator / set up punch operator meaning I set up all the dies and operated the machines as well as the part time machinist of the shop along with another guy.
When setting up a machine my hand was crushed inside the machine and I was impaled with 316 steal which severed a nerve and I have almost no feeling in that hand. On top of carpul
Tunnel from repetitive injury of working pressing a machine button over and over for 8 hours a day for years.
People need to step back and maybe try to sit in someone else’s shoes even for a second.
18-20k based on what dummy or content? You see, I’m not against people having the option to not weave. I really do hope this new amulet mythic stays viable, I’ve been using it on PTS and it’s nice. I don’t think it’s healthy for anyone to weave for hours straight even if they have no current injury, let alone those who do. Buff timers and DoTs were increased so that rotations don’t have to be so fast. I fully support these changes, those who are disabled and those who are not benefit the same way from these. The problem with HA is that it’s got 100% uptimes on several buffs (including those traditional DPS do not get), it has strong healing with matriarch if a sorc, and it’s only a few buttons. It’s MUCH easier than a traditional build but is competing at the same level (trifecta level, including Rockgrove trifecta. So the only missing one is Dreadsail Reef trifecta). That’s the problem. It’s nothing about wanting to harm disabled people and everything to do with the difficulty compared to its ceiling. And I do genuinely hope this new no-LA/HA mythic is good. Because I think a build with that mythic is much closer in difficulty to a traditional build compared to a HA build and hopefully won’t bring as much pain as a traditional build does.
Edit: Also, HA isn’t being destroyed. The ceiling of it just needs to be knocked down a bit. You can still use it for the things you’re wanting to use it for.
There seems to be multiple conversations happening here.
1. Should 1-bar HA builds be able to do elite end-game trifectas (no death, hard mode, speedrun). I'd surmise no, the most difficult content in the game (of which there are multiple other levels of difficulty to complete it, so nobody is "gate-kept" out of completing any content in the game, just maybe some content at some levels of difficulty) should require some level of skill and proficiency at the game (such as mastering advanced combat techniques, skill uptimes, group buffing, etc...)
2. Should 1-bar HA builds be able to complete all content in the game at normal difficulty, almost all at veteran difficulty, and even much of it at veteran-HM difficulty (with exceptions being newly released DLC dungeons on Vet-HM, and DLC trials on Vet-HM), yes, absolutely.
The changes made on PTS 38 will (maybe) remove one or two edge cases from point 1, where groups were able to get trifectas using those builds (I suspect those players will still be able to do so regardless, they are simply better players than most of us). It will not change anything in point 2. The approximate 3-5% nerf to damage to those builds will not preclude anybody from completing all things listed above.
It's quite literally one of the few times I can remember ZoS actually taking a scalpel to change something, rather than the sledgehammer approach and utterly destroying it.
Will there always be those players that are toxic and rude towards 1-bar build players, yes. Some people are like that. Does the reverse happen too? Yes, some people are just like that.

I did the trial dummy with my current ha set up and I got 60k which isn’t even a lot … and clearly not threat to the high end players.

To be honest I despise scrying and farming I already for a set up. I shouldn’t have to make a new build AGAIN When I just started this one and was enjoying it.
Isn’t that mythic for the new class? I have zero interest in making a new class. I don’t have time to work on another character and frankly the arcanist looks interesting for what their going for but doesn’t interest me.

Ahh I see. I don’t know the conversion from 3mil to 21mil, if there is one, but 20k without group buffs doesn’t seem bad. With other players involved it can only go up. While 60k is not a lot, it’s enough for dungeons (and I think two HA sets are from dungeons?) and the ceiling for HA is actually about 100k. You in particular are not a “threat”. But the things I have seen… endgame DPS are actively swapping to HA for things because it’s easier and can complete the same content. Not just in personal choice but in HA-ONLY groups for things like random dungeons up to dungeon trifectas and trial trifectas (AS). I know of several people and instances. It’s not good.
Edit: that is to say, traditional builds are actually being EXCLUDED because of HA viability. Not just DPS, but why bring a healer when you have a HA sorc with matriarch? Why have a tank when everyone is tanky? Yes. I have seen 4-HA sorc runs.

Some people are mean, but it is not everyone. Personally, I don’t say a thing as long as there’s no DPS checks or the DPS checks are being passed. Doesn’t matter if I’m carrying the group’s DPS or if I’m supplying the best debuffs/buffs I can. I try my best to make it work. I’m haunted by guilt because someone was talked down to about their DPS and being carried and I didn’t defend them. I’ve been in a run where someone actually went and crafted gear for free for someone. I’ve been in slow runs where both DPS were giving low DPS but it was non-DLC so expecting high DPS is wrong. I’ve been in DLC runs where the DPS is low but we get through it. Not everyone is going to attack you, those who do are either having a bad day or are not nice people. The real joy of random dungeons, at least for me, is helping others get through content. Not “I have 30 minutes let’s do a dungeon real quick”.
It appears that many players have lost their focus on the importance of group cooperation in this game.
This could be attributed to various factors such as:
Personal ambition taking over Am I the only one who can see this? Seriously?
However, it's not just the players who are at fault; Zenimax also have contributed to this issue by not emphasizing the significance of working together as a team.
Pretty ironic statement coming from a person who is trying to defend an item that permanently gives you almost every existing buff, making proper group composition and set coordination redundant.

For a world boss same thing.

I only test on the normal dummy my old build the 3 mill one. Because I focus mostly on non group stuff.
I did the trial dummy with my current ha set up and I got 60k which isn’t even a lot … and clearly not threat to the high end players.
I was laughed out of a vet dungeon for my build .. aka ha I was excluded I was mocked and insulted in the group chat. These types of players
Don’t want us. It doesn’t matter what damage we can do even though mine is low ) if they don’t want to play with us.
Well my ha build it’s 27 k max on the 3 mill and I got 24 I think on the 5 mill and 60 max on the trial
Dummy. So my old 2 bar build would prob be maybe 35-40 k on the trial dummy because on average I got 15-16 (again I need to pause and stop for pain and it lowers dps ).

Players can express their opinions about why certain builds or skills need to be nerfed, and they can express themselves freely. They may even be entirely correct in their assessments. However, your statement was truly outstanding.
Some players will reject those who use HA builds simply because they require less effort to play. What they have forgotten or don't even care is that some players may not have the capability to use complex builds, even if they wanted to.

Why couldn’t the answer be remove the buffs or lower them and just keep empower ? I don’t care about the buffs I use oakensoul for empower.

The real question is… why has a bug that was never fixed become the only style of game play?
I only test on the normal dummy my old build the 3 mill one. Because I focus mostly on non group stuff.
I did the trial dummy with my current ha set up and I got 60k which isn’t even a lot … and clearly not threat to the high end players.
I was laughed out of a vet dungeon for my build .. aka ha I was excluded I was mocked and insulted in the group chat. These types of players
Don’t want us. It doesn’t matter what damage we can do even though mine is low ) if they don’t want to play with us.

I 100 % had the highest dps at the time the other guy who mocked me was not doing very good. They just didn’t like it as a heavy attack build.
Mind you when I did a vet with my 2 bar build doing less dps I received no hate.
Something to think about.
Well dang - that's when you can say 'I'm literally doing more dps than you - sounds like a skill issue'
I can’t say that though using heavy attack. It wasn’t a skill issue and I was fine playing with him. No worries I just don’t get the hate / frustration I was just trying to farm gear that’s it
I mean, you were doin more dps than them *shrug* and they had started it

Yeah, see. That person just has hate in their heart, maybe they’re jealous. People who are not doing their own role well have 0 basis to stand on in commenting on other peoples builds. Their words have no power. No one should be making comments like that regardless though.
Why couldn’t the answer be remove the buffs or lower them and just keep empower ? I don’t care about the buffs I use oakensoul for empower.
Removing the buffs would make the item completely useless for harder solo content let alone raids. I'm sure you would notice the difference too.

I don't want all the buffs removed damn it! I don't do group content in this game, and having Oakensoul's buffs while running 1 bar class abilities plus a weapon skill spammable is MUCH better for me than trying to weave with bar swapping when my reflexes are crap and my ping (750+ most of the time, down from 999+ not too long ago) means bar swap never happens!
And no, i am NOT using HAs - I really dislike the heavy attack playstyle. I could do without empower altogether though.

I only test on the normal dummy my old build the 3 mill one. Because I focus mostly on non group stuff.
I did the trial dummy with my current ha set up and I got 60k which isn’t even a lot … and clearly not threat to the high end players.
I 100 % had the highest dps at the time the other guy who mocked me was not doing very good. They just didn’t like it as a heavy attack build.
Mind you when I did a vet with my 2 bar build doing less dps I received no hate.
Something to think about.
Yeah, see. That person just has hate in their heart, maybe they’re jealous. People who are not doing their own role well have 0 basis to stand on in commenting on other peoples builds. Their words have no power. No one should be making comments like that regardless though.
Unfortunately I feel zos doesn’t enough enforce enough punishment for stuff like this.
I don’t know how strict they are with this type of thing but it should not be allowed.
I can agree with you there. I guess can report as bullying/harassment, I never thought to do that before. People who are so cruel should be social banned in my opinion. It doesn’t stop, either the harassment continues and now you’re a bystander or people will still find ways to comment poorly even when you’re doing everything right.
Of course but I’d rather loss the buffs as a balance than lose the dps numbers when that’s my real problem with my hand and issues I can’t control. I do love the buffs they are great but at least than maybe people would lay off a bit while the dps won’t take a hit ? I’m no game dev so prob a terrible idea just a suggestion.
