And don't get me started on the argonian furniture. Makes me wonder if they stopped for a single second and thought about how most of their furniture makes absolutely no sense for a race that got big tails. Even most of their styles and costumes are lacking in consideration for their tails.

They put warm blooded mammal mammary glands on cold blooded egg layers, so magical Argonian tail vanishing chairs should be no surprise to anyone.

They are not mammary glands, though. They have no ***. It's just lumps likely added by the Hist to make them look more like man and mer for survival.

Apples to Oranges. Hide Helmet is a very common option in video games. You are asking to remove a limb. This is like me wanting to play my Dunmer without arms.

Which is actually fine if you are asking that for your own character because you are disabled or you believe in disability rights. But to ask for tails to be removed because you find it unsightly, that sounds more like animal cruelty.

Wasnt there some one complaining that his tail was gone a while back in this forums?

    Maybe ask him for advice.
Yes, think he rode an dual player mount and his tail did not came back then he dismounted.
I assume it was some condition who did not run the reattach tail function on dismount.

I can see an "arm" there. What the op is asking is for there to NOT be a visible tail; they want to play a crippled/handicapped type of khajiit or argonian.

@Tenthirty2 Very much enjoyed Detachable Tail.

Yep. "Arm". Sotha Sil approves. However it isn't the same thing the op wanted. If the arm was gone and not replaced, and the player used a one armed dunmer, then okay.

Not having a tail would, at the least, cause balance issues with khajiiti and wreck swimming/steering for argonians [whether or not the game would accommodate it is another question]

I'm not sure if a silly joke I made here deserves a bigger discussion, but anyway: Backgroundstory-wise, my Dunmer has lost his arms in a severe accident about 2-3 years ago. Yes, he has mechanical replacements. Still, his normal arms are lost, and I don't see why it wouldn't logically be possible for a Khajiit or Argonian to lose a limb too. They also can have accidents or be severely injured in battle.

Of course, in the beginning, a missing or an incomplete/stubby tail would probably cause balance issues, but I'm sure they could learn to adapt, as it is in real life (there are animals that lose their tail in accidents or after being attacked by other animals, and they are able to walk fine). Playing without arms, on the other hand, would be a bit complicated, as you weren't able to use many spells and many weapon types anymore then (one-handed weapons would work, but you couldn't use a shield then, of course).

Is wanting to remove a tail because it's "ugly" a strange decision? Well, to me it is. I can't really understand it. Still I think that Khajiit or Argonians with a stubby or missing tail wouldn't break lore or logic, for the reasons mentioned above. I don't think ZOS will implement this though, because people who want this are probably a very tiny minority.

We also don't have the tail cosmetics which had a brief appearance many years ago yet, which likely means they struggle implementing them. I magine different tails would be even worse.

Removing tails would be lore breaking, I doubt they make a such stupid unnecessary option for tail haters or those finds them ugly.

Nothing stopping you from playing as a man or mer. Or using a polymorph.

Lots of Khajiit are born without tails. We call them Ohmes.

    As for Argonians ...

Btw. are khajiit and especially argonian tails are flexible enough so that you could bend them into on of your legs? This would allow to wear them armor made for elves or humans and would kind of "remove" the tail.

The important question would be: does it hurt to do so? 🤣

For a Khajiit probably but I don't think it would not be very comfortable.
With an robe or long skirt, it should be no problem at least for Khajiit, an Argonian would probably look a bit like the old skirts from 19th century.

I would like to point out that hiding one's tail can just be a client-side visual change. That way you can hide your tails, but everyone else can still see them, and thus their immersion won't be broken.

That said, I would like to see more tail customization options for the beast races in general. It's a shame that most costumes don't do anything for your tail.

Argonians can change the thickness of their tails at least. It's bound to the posterior slider.

Which makes you wonder that if thick tails equals big booty among argonians.
