The concept of spellcrafting was officially cancelled many years ago in favor of housing. The lead designer of spellcrafting left ZoS shortly after. Later rumours would suggest that any work that had been completed on spellcrafting up to that point were repurposed into Antiquities. Considering the supposed technical limitations of catering to old consoles, and the fact that Block (a core comabt ability) was broken for a whole month, I highly doubt ZoS would be capable of implementing such a system in the midst of a code rework they say they are working on.
When ZoS talked about putting spellcrafting on the back burner because of difficulties in balancing the game, they mentioned that one of the ideas they had come up with was that you'd have to (grind) find leads that would allow you to locate pieces of tiles. When you had all the pieces to complete a tile you could learn the spell associated with it.
II don't know if that was really their plan for spellcrafting, but it certainly fits with the idea that when spellcrafting was abandoned the code was repurposed for the antiquity system, and later the concept of mythics.
In any case, I don't think that spellcrafting (if we ever get it) would be like previous TES games, where you could define your own spell types and strengths... and then go off into the wilderness to practice them until you could get them to trigger at a reasonable rate:)

Or maybe it's just some simple system like the "radiant quests" in Skyrim: Random tasks like "Go to dungeon X, fetch item Y" (or kill boss Y, or rescue npc Y). Of course that would bring players back to older zones, but I'd find it rather boring to be honest.

I could see them replacing the current dailies with such a system. Right now the dailes are simply selected from a short list, and have no variety once you have done each one. It could open all the delves to become part of the daily selection for their zone.
The new feature is not going to be flying mounts, spellcrafting, or trial finder. These are the same people who thought we were getting a monk class and naval combat. Pay attention.

Q2: Full-featured Chapter in June. The 2023 ESO Chapter will be a complete story: you will be able to play all the way through it without a storyline that is broken out and reserved for later in the year. We will return to larger/better and more detailed Chapters by doing this. We are REALLY excited about next year's Chapter—for details, you'll have to wait for our Global Reveal Event in January. But one hint: this will be part one of a multi-year story arc and will contain one of the most requested new features.
Here's what I remember as "most requested".Not requested as much but nice to have:
- New Class
- Trial Finder
- Story Mode Dungeons
- Hide Shoulders and/or Crotch Flaps
- Group Duels
- Underwater Swimming
- Companion Duels
- Battlespire Dungeon (PvPvE)
- PvP Arenas (2v2, 3v3, 4v4, etc)
- Housing Battlegrounds
- New Battleground set in theme of new Chapter

Won't happen because of addons
People keep talking about 'harder overland'... but ZOS specifically said a 'new system' in their announcement. A new class is NOT a 'new system' and ZOS has said for years they would not add content that separated players. Right now with player decline, the LAST THING you want is further separation between players.

Augur of the Obscure has way more interesting dialogue that actually relates to the current area. In contrast, the companions say the exact same phrase every city and ruin (do they see dead people? this hasn’t been a bustling city for an age…) Then again, Skyrim had the dumbest such system with “hey, I fetched these rocks for you, marry me?” I don’t mean to bash on companions — I think they’re a cool addition but wish they had way more to them, reactions to the specific place and what your character does, instead of only a few generic lines repeated.

Apart from which, there are no pixels under those flaps. Every pair of legs would have to be remodeled in all styles and both sexes. You have to ask if that is a good use of a modeler's time.
Personally I think the flaps are ridiculous especially on characters that are supposed to be able to ride but no more daft than the 'tassets' which they have modeled on the side of the thighs. However I don't see it ever happening.
