Utilizing old content + new gameplay = either a set of various difficulties for overland content or something like WoW's mythic+ for dungeons. They should do both.

I don't really have much hope. I think the chapter itself will be better but... is ESO+ really just the craftbag now?

ESO+ offers a few other perks, but it's getting pricey for what it is. They certainly can't raise the price any higher, given that they're reducing the number of DLCs.

IMO, the new feature will be nothing more than companion romance (Rated G). :/

My guess (and hope) would be a trial finder.

Trials (or the equivalent) and PvP are the two major endgame activities in most mmorpgs, and add a lot of replayability to the game. When it comes to PvP, stable server performance could be more than enough to get more people playing again, and the fact that you solo queue makes it easy enough for everyone to at least try this type of content a couple of times. But when it comes to PvE, it's a bit harder to just give it a try. Even with pugs there's always some logistics going on, which will cause some people to just not try it at all. ESO still has a very high number of active players, yet a lot of PvE guilds are saying they can't find enough people to do trials, which tells me that the potential of that type of replayable content goes largely unused.

If done right, this could be a good thing for both new players and veterans, not just another mini game that only a selection of players enjoys.

    That or spellcrafting. :)

What I want: new skill lines and a melee mag weapon. I don't think the melee mag weapon will ever happen though.

What I expect: Hard mode overland, story mode dungeons or trial group finder.

The things i expect from zos at this point are:
    - Marry companions
    - 10 more inventory places for large houses
    - a battlepass (like fail out 76 :s )
    - hide certain amor pieces
    - more dailys which force you to go back (and buy) old dlcs (with some nice complete 300x trophys like back in murkmire)
    - class skins for the crownstore
    - shutting down cyro and remodel it into an pve zone (wouldnt suprise me at this point)
    - removing classes from the game and giving the player the option to choose 3 of the skilllines (they play the same anyway)
    - a whole new race xD (dwmer/falmer)
    - a new card deck

We have that already, it's called ESO plus. Fallout 76 basically took the same benefits here and ported them there.

Maybe you should reserve judgement on a game until you actually play it...

It will be all about Dalies, Dungeons, and Trials with a vet overland and a return to PVP endgame....in short, the content creators get their wish at the expense of the core player base.

They should lose 30% in the first year with a 10-15% loss year after year going forward.

Half of thing you all mention are just simple QoL changes, not big features. If they delete 2 dungeons and whole new zone (sometimes with new features itself like new arena in Markarath), they can't just throw us hide flips option or trial finder :D

Personally I expect whole new layers of gameplay, which gives whole new activites. It may be something like new game modes (pvp and pve), some new big systems where for example you can make your own company with some economy system, furnishing your headquarters, some new quests, etc. It must be something really complex if that supposed to alter 2 dungeons and whole new zone with quests nad other regular features...

I think QoL is going to be a trial finder or another storage bag of some sort

I think for overworld content, I think they need to bring PvE and PvP together more: We have a lot of PvE players or crafters sitting on gold going stagnant. We have a lot of PvP players playing a decade old version of PvP limited by the game as it was made.

Before ESO was released, I expected a merger of theme park and sandbox MMOs, where Cryodil involved player building cities, of trade routes and dangerous worlds where you needed to protect your wagons from one end of the map to the other. Imperial city sort of was leaning in this direction with losing loot on death.

I think they should use this concept and make a DMZ gameplay mode/trial.

Add an overland version of the Undaunted, with a new skill line, a new currency, and lots of new items. Have the player trigger a quest to spawn into a zone with no gear and have numerous radiant quests to do throughout the zone, and have to defeat bosses or do tasks like harvesting and crafting. Add in light co-op or flag for PvP. The player will have to "extract" their winnings and can respawn in with extracted items next time while building up a storage of extracted goods. Make it like antiquities so you have easy through to heroic levels of difficulty. And each zone can have its own self contained radiant quest line sort of like repeatable quests in Cyrodil.

I just want to go back to older zones and for it to be engaging. I don't really want to go back as a veteran and just stomp everything or just do what I do today which is scry for loot which is ... not engaging.

Not sure what I'd hope for specifically but I'd rather not have veteran overland unless there's some additional incentive to do it. Otherwise it's like tales of tribute, a certain subset will have no interest but unlike tribute this subset will definitely be the largest portion of the playerbase.

yeah but doesnt fallout 76 have also a battlepass in additon to that ? at least as far as i heard.

Also i bought fo76 when it came out, tested it and got my refund, im not invested enaugh in the game to care, so feel free to correct me if im wrong :D

I'd love a new staff or magic-based weapon line or a guild skill line with actual spells from TES series.

I'd also love some more snow elf stuff but that isn't highly requested. I mean the arctic skin is nice and the gloomlurker body paint too but I mean... dude... I can make my character look like a coral reef but not pale? LoL.

    My guess would be:
    - optinal difficulty for overland (like normal and veteran)
    - seperate pvp from pve

Hopefully veteran overland or new weapon types (spears, spellsword, etc.) New classes don't excite me because they all feel the same to me anyway. I'd much rather have weapons or improvements to floaty melee combat over classes which just feel like re-skins of abilities.

Wild card: Maybe they are re-doing the visuals of older zones? If they elimate Q4 DLC that should definitely happen even if it does not start next year, older zones are really showing their age at this point.

We already did this with ToT and it was not a hit with the majority of the community.

Classes do not NEED to feel this way, though.

They only sort of do as a function of how their abilities have been balanced over the last two years or so.

I, for one, would love a new class (Dwarven Tinker, FTW!).

It will not be underwater swimming and I can tell you why right now

Argonians, they can breathe underwater, the other races cannot, that would cause a massive balance shift in their favor, then you have the crowd who believes Vampires should also beable to, for them it would be very immersion breaking if they couldn't.

I'm hoping for a new class, or a new system like antiquities that involves all the zones. Or scaling based on the number of players that are in an instance or the area. For dungeons, this would be sort of like a story mode, but not quite, since you'd have to fight stuff scaled to you, not just breeze through and listen to dialogue. Barring that, horses that can swim.

Vet overland: Given how many players I see running by mobs without engaging them, I'm betting most people wouldn't use it. It seems many players want to get from point A to point B without the annoyance of combat. The forums give the impression that tons of players want a harder overland, but it's a mistake to think that the forum community represents the player base. The majority of players don't read or post here. Hopefully ZOS is listening to feedback from multiple sources, and not just here.

Spellcraft: Given that ZOS can't seem to balance the existing skill lines, I doubt they'll introduce a feature which would make it even more difficult to do so.

I hope it has nothing to do with companions, unless they REALLY make them more interesting. Like, exponentially. Otherwise it'll be a waste.

I would love a new weapon like a magicka tanking staff or skill line, if these count as system/feature

We already have a magicka tanking staff. Ice staff.
