Also make the scion's eyes glow, maybe different colours for different morphs. Those beady eyes they have now are just creepy, and not in a good way.

I’m 100% on board with updated werewolf visuals. Been saying this myself for a while now. Especially since the Wolfhunter DLC. Allow us to customize our wolves to at least make most of them unique. Scars, burns, glowing eyes, fur colors, something, anything.

While we at it, throw some wings on my vampire scion while you at it. Make them a true vampire lord.

Oh and pets. Sorc pets (warden too) are in serious need of a graphics overhaul or the ability to change them somewhat.

Did you know the vampire scion ultimate originally had wings? Apparently, they removed them because of performance issues but you can still see it in some early private pts footage. About 30 seconds into this video https://youtu.be/XDXATjYJXhg?t=30

I've noticed that a lot of the visual effects for both vampires and werewolves have been downgraded. Vampires used to have those wings on the Blood Scion, and they used to have blood spatters on their mouth and chest whenever they fed on someone, which looked kind of similar to the blood spatters you get when using the Blade of Woe. Werewolves used to have a much fluffier player model (mentioned earlier in this thread), and they also got their maw all bloody when feeding on corpses.

Here's an example of what the old werewolf and vampire feeding effects looked like:
    ft0tlq7sz74w.png

Unfortunately, it seems both werewolf and vampire have received downgrades to their appearance, but perhaps it was in the name of performance. I hope that these elements return as they were but in a more optimized state, because they looked really cool and added roleplay value.

Vampires sometimes still get that visual effect when biting another player. Blood effects would be cool, but also just giving us some customization options for when we're in form. I mean, why do I care to purchase any sort of cosmetics like skins or markings when they're moot for 95% of my gameplay?

Ah, I hadn't realized that's the only place to see it. I know it doesn't show up when biting NPCs, so I had assumed it was removed from the game entirely. Still, I know for a fact that player werewolves don't get their old blood effects even when biting friendly players.

That's an interesting way to look at it. Regular players purchase all these cosmetics and they get to show off their style as they wander Tamriel, but they don't see any of it when they're transformed. Considering the werewolf subclass is designed around staying in-form for as long as possible, we should also be able to customize the look of our lycanthrope form.

For those of us who want to tell a story with the appearance of our characters, letting us put markings like scars on both our human and werewolf forms would allow for immersive roleplaying. Plus, maybe we want to change the color of our werewolf's fur to something that more closely matches the hair color of our character's human form? There could be so many options for customizing both of our forms to better describe our characters as a whole.

@ZOS_Kevin Any chance this could get looked into? And possibly bring back the werewolf emotes we had but were removed a while back in a patch without any reason or explanation. I'm in a werewolf focused guild with over a hundred members, and we would all love to have some new features for our favorite playstyle. Thanks

This model looks so much better than the one we have nowadays. Why on earth was this model replaced? I genuinely would pay money to have this old model back as a werewolf skin.

Or, perhaps this old model (assuming it's still archived anywhere) could be used for differentiating the werewolf morphs, so we can finally change our werewolf fur color without causing any confusion. Getting the old model back and having free access to any of the werewolf fur colors sounds like the best of both worlds to me.

It's all about performance. And why they slowed the jump down. And disabled the emotes. And disabled certain effects in large gatherings of players.

ZOS has been chipping away at the code for years, modifying or outright deleting things deemed bad for performance (like achievements for alts, anti-werewolf/daedra/undead glyphs, deer in Cyrodiil, companion and pet visibility in congested/performance sensitive zones and areas, iconic skill animations, maximum group sizes, etc). They have stated that performance is the reason for many changes in the various patch notes. So asking for more complex skins for our transformations and pets will always be met with silence. You get black or white, and that's it.

You can be a storm atronach wolf though. This is one of mine:

I understand that most of these changes have been made to improve runtime performance, especially considering that there is a sizeable portion of the playerbase on consoles. Maybe the more detailed werewolf model could be part of a graphics setting that players would be able to enable if their system is capable of handling it?

However, I am not convinced that adding more skins for werewolves specifically will impact the game's runtime performance any more than the new skins introduced from the Crown Store do. What makes alternate werewolf skins any different in performance than the alternate skins for Feral Guardian and its morphs?

Because they built a wonky game that can't handle simple things games almost 10+ years older than it can. It's the same reason the game doesn't have capes; it's truly sad if you think about if for too long so I try not to.... but it's really always in the back of my mind while I play the game.

I can't imagine anyone would disagree with that assumption. We have no customization now, give us options! Even the warden bear has an alternate appearance available.

I would really like to see an option for different skins for the werewolf. I have always thought it would be awesome if my Argonian werewolf looked like an Argonian behemoth. I saw an animation of the change from humanoid form to behemoth in-game somewhere so I know there is an animation for it. I remember mention in lore that there was more than one type of “werewolf” like the were-bear and maybe another that I cannot think of at the moment.

It would be interesting to have the chance to see other kinds of werebeasts! Though, some of the Lycanthrope types are only speculated by characters in-lore to exist, and most of them haven't made an appearance in an Elder Scrolls game yet. It sounds like a bit of work to implement, so I'd wager that we might have a chance at seeing some of those other kinds of Lycanthropes in an expansion with an area that is known to harbor them, such as Werebears in Central Skyrim and Solstheim.

I would also like to ask that if other werebeast models are implemented, that Argonians aren't shoehorned into being Werecrocodiles and Khajiit aren't shoehorned into being Werelions. In TES lore, different kinds of Lycanthropes are more common in specific regions of the world (such as Werelions being common in Elsweyr, and Wereboars being common in Hammerfell), and anyone can become one if infected by them. That is to say that the werebeast you become isn't tied to your character's race, but rather the particular strain of Lycanthropy that you contract.

Now that the technology to do cosmetic changes to animations is implemented, it shouldn't be that much of a step to apply it to skills as well. Give us a werewolf reskin (for me undead including dire wolves, please) let dual wielding dunmer wardens have their black panther or turn Dawnbreaker into a burst of tentacles.

I hadn't even considered that the werewolf reskins should include the dire wolves. That's a good idea!

I also think that werewolves should get some of the fur colors that the dire wolves can sometimes have, like that red fur.
    4s4mae7zp6mq.jpg

Considering that the Dire Wolves can have white fur, black fur, grey fur, or red fur, I've always found it strange that werewolves in ESO aren't also able to have red fur.

I'm sure, but I don't want to give up so easily, there have been several threads asking for this over the years that just get buried and forgotten, most people do not like how current werewolves look in the elder scrolls online. I'd even be okay if they restored the 2014 beta model, or made it an optional skin you could get..

Yeah, there's no reason to not keep bringing it up and making our voices heard... I'm just saying that expectations should be tempered based upon previous (lack of) response to the requests. Then again, they dropped account wide achievements on us saying that it was one of the most requested features, but I personally had never seen that and was unable to find such requests in a search. So, who knows. Let's keep bringing it up!
