It did not. Same exact problem, 3 hrs later. I uninstalled, deleted the folder, redownloaded and reinstalled, went through the whole install process, back to where I was.

PC EU through Steam, here. I tried the aforementioned remedies to no avail, as well as restarting my pc and bypassing the launcher via the executable. Alas, it won’t let me log in without Steam. Will DM the log.

I typically open ESO using the executable unless there's a patch or update, so I didn't notice yesterday - only when I went to update my launcher this morning.

@ZOS_Kevin is there somewhere we can download the most recent update to the launcher without using the launcher to do it? Maybe if we just update the launcher with the file it was trying to install, it'll work?

This happened yesterday evening too, but just used the workaround by playing through the eso64.exe.

Same as @Prax3des here, I only open the launcher when there is a patch to install, I don't use it to launch the game - so it may well have been borked for me yesterday but I didn't notice until today when I started the launcher to download and install Firesong and the Update.

Hi all. We want to provide an update as we are reaching the end of the day here for us at ZOS. So the team is still looking for the culprit in the code causing this issue. We have been testing throughout yesterday and today and have not been able to reproduce the issue on our end. We are still working today to see if we can track the issue, but this issue is likely to persist into tomorrow. I know that is the last thing any of you want to hear. We are working to get this resolves as soon as possible and will provide more updates as they appear. Thanks again for your understanding and patience.

I appreciate your update and hard work, Kevin, but I have to admit I'm shocked that it sounds like nobody works past end of day business hours to fix outages for large groups of people. This isn't on you, but I'm really disappointed. Especially given the event.

NOTE - if this was a 13 hr day because of the patch, please forgive the comment and I appreciate everyone's hard work.

The PTS option has disappeared.

Yes, i got this, and after it was all over with i got to the same invalid files stuff.

Just a thought but have ZoS checked that they have the same code version on all the patch update distribution servers?
This may be an issue where one of the update servers is corrupt or back-versioned. When the launcher is run, it connects to a random update server, based on whatever load-distribution system is used. If the client end gets a good version, that's fine. If it happens to download (or compare to) the dud distribution server files, the client is in for a world of hurt.

Yes to the patcher all of a sudden patching. No to the error at the end. I have just this minute logged in.

Yes to the patcher all of a sudden patching. No to the error at the end. I have just this minute logged in.

I've deleted the version file again, opened the zos loader (not the steam one) and am currently downloading that 79-80gig patch. I'll let you know if that works.
