Ok, why is Isobel so creepy?

Seriously, that smile she has is exactly what I would expect of someone eating my face .....and she does talk about "sweets" a LOT ... we have no idea of what she considers sweet... some things are referred to as "sweetmeats" in history, and cannibals are sometimes referenced as "eating that sweet meat"....

Just look at that face, and you will wonder if you are going to wake up staked out, and her getting the fire going.....

Then again, my girlfriend wants to go see the movie Smile ...... Isobel would fit right in, there.

Yeah she is very creepy...some of her comments are very off putting as well and what is with that weird pose of hers?

I stick with Mirri out of all of them she is the least irritating

I find her swashbuckler stance, facial expressions, and eye brows off-putting, so don't even bother using her.

Because the word “sweets” is a code for moon sugar ;)

And look, she’s in one of those graduate program for knights and one of the training is on Walking Like a Knight, so if you see her prancing and posing, that’s why.

She's my favorite companion; aside from the weird eyebrows they gave her. She doesn't complain as much as Mirri and is generally positive.

A lot of the NPCs in the game end up with a very creepy, over exaggerated smile if you let them finish dialogue and then wait before you either proceed or close the window. It’s just a weird animation quirk I think.

i honestly never really looked that hard into any of the companions faces, and i turn the commenting down to the lowest setting so i dont hear them frequently

they do a good job as a combat pet though, which is why i keep them around, more dmg/heal/tank is better than none

(if your wondering yes i absolutely consider them just a pet to deal extra dmg that i can customize and dont take up bar slots lol)

LOL. I find Mirri to be more annoying than Isobel. She always doubts by ability to kill dozens of adds at a time, despite watching me murder my way through Tamriel. Mirri is basically' Adrian telling Rocky he can't win before every fight.

I think it's just her expression, she has sort of frozen surprise eyebrows  I don't think her character or manner is creepy at all, but after finishing both quests for her and Ember, I think she is definitely less fleshed out than Ember in terms of her personality.

I have very little experience with Isobel, because I summon her only for boss fights. But I had a laugh at her description in original post and her face in that screenshot!

This explains Isobel's angry face when she learned that I have a guard dog :D

All npcs and even our own characters smiles "creepily" like that. ESO's smiling animation isn't that great and looks wonky on most. It isn't exclusive to Isobel.

Nothing wrong with her face, as ESO standards go.

This is an RPG, which means many people act upon their chosen roles. Acting like pixels are people or animals with whom we can or can't relate comes with the genre.

I like Mirri. Then again, I like all the companions thus far.

    For me they are....

    Mirri= lovable snarky weirdo
Bastian = straight laced, but sensitive and kind
Isobel = Gentle, upbeat but brave
Ember = witty troublemaker, but in a good way

Edit: She was into romance books and the like she became one of the things she use to read about and idolize growing up basically a book dork became a knight.

Reading through the comments, Sammy wants to add that it’s the quirks that make Isobel unique. After all, how many of us are perfect?

She has saved Sammy’s hide more than 10,000 times. What else can you ask for from a companion?

She is a fine companion, and her skills are good --- the whole thing on my post was the look on her face.
There is another smile she does where her eyes get even bigger, and more intense.... it's the look of someone who just snorted bath salts, and is deciding which type of bread would go best with your face .....

Purely amusement at the way the graphics come across... nothing more need be read into that.

She's clearly suffering from the somewhat quirkly smiling animation that all the companions have. It seems to have been toned down on the original two companions or maybe I just got use to it, I don't know :D . Her look is fine but the animations definitely have a way of making all companions look a bit goofy.

I actually don't get on with Isobel for two reasons -
    1. Her voice. I didn't really like her VA as Serana in Skyrim and the 'girlish enthusiasm' tone used for Isobel is hard on my ears. Adorable to some, kryptonite to others I suppose.
    2. She is very straightlaced but pretends she isn't. She's a Knight and follower of Stendarr who won't use a lockpick in her own introduction quest to help someone she cares for but she's weirdly ok with the player character being a mass murderer with Dark Brotherhood as long as she doesn't see you doing murdering? Nothing wrong with moral characters but I prefer the characterisation to be consistent.

    I don't find Isobel creepy.

Her dislikes can be annoying when I get a rapport decrease while playing and forget to send her away before preforming an action she disapproves of, yet that is true for all companions.
