Why the change for the dailies?

Daily Login Reward Timer Change
In this update, your new daily login rewards will start being available at 3am UTC for European servers and 10am UTC for North American servers, rather than at midnight UTC regardless of region.

It seems to align with the time that the rested xp is granted, shop refreshes, events end, etc. Makes sense to me to standarize it more.

It's nice for us on West coast if you work 9-5 you can miss the daily reward reset as it falls directly on 5pm Pacific. Now it will be at 3am Pacific the chances of missing out on a daily reward is far less often for daylight players.

I welcome this change, I missed a login reward this month by an hour because I had the audacity to go out for the day - it's currently an awkward reset time (for me at least) and if I get back late from being out I can miss it.

I'm in favour of standardising the reset times - not sure this is aligning with the things mentioned above though, which (with the exception of enlightenment, which is per account rather than server time) is at 10am Eastern, not at 10am UTC as stated.

Maybe that is a typo in the patch notes and should read 10am EDT instead for the NA server - @ZOS_GinaBruno ??

Maybe this paves the way to having maintenances also at different times for each megaserver.

Like 8AM UTC for NA like it is now and 4AM UTC for EU.

I welcome this change, I sure won't miss any rewards now. It will reset at 4am for me.

I'm fine with this change. I think this translates to a 5 AM local time daily reset for the NA and EU servers, if the servers are in Texas and Germany.

I'm hoping it's not 10am EDT. If it's 10am UTC that would make reset before most people are awake like writs. If it's EDT (I did initially read this as EDT) then that's smack in the middle of work/school for most. I was kinda concerned it was gonna be during mid-day, seems like that would be harder to keep track than while you're asleep anyway.

Aye but 10am EDT is when crown store resets, events start on the NA server. Nothing happens on the NA server at 10am UTC, daily quest reset is at 6am UTC so that makes less sense.

this is actually going to make it infinitely more annoying for east coasters to get those last event tickets

if events still end at 10 am, but the daily reset goes from 2 am to 6 am, there is no way ill be able to get those last 2 event tickets anymore

i go into work late enough that i can stay up for the current eastern reset, but if the reset is any later than what it is now, that wont be able to happen (i usually wake up at 9:45 am to get ready for work, so trying to do the last tickets before work wont be an option either)

Isn't it just the calendar rewards, not the tickets? Or is it both?

can get up early and do dailies if busy/work in evening. right now its 8am when I have to go to work...

This isn't a change to event tickets, it is daily login rewards.

This isn't a change to event tickets, it is daily login rewards.

if its just daily login rewards then thats fine (confusion is that we have many sets of dailies and at different times: daily reset for daily quests, and daily granting of enlightenment/daily login rewards)

wasnt entirely sure which set of dailies that this was covering lol

The main reason I like this is the current time doesn't really align with anything else as far as I'm aware.

I would've thought they'd make it same time as daily craft/quest resets though, tbh. Would make everything more streamlined.

From a US perspective, current times are kind of nice as it sets the reset in the evening, which is generally when a lot of people are getting home and settling down to play games after work.

Plus, at 6 or 7pm depending on the time of year, there is usually a buffer for players who are una le to log in for a period of time. Say, you can't play one evening but you can the next, you still have a chance to get both days worth of daily rewards the next evening. This new time means if you miss one evening you completely miss the rewards if you cannot log in in the morning.

What I mean is it doesn't align with anything else in game. So at the moment, crown store, daily quests, daily rewards are all at different times. Why not unify them y'know? But yeah in real life time someone somewhere is always going to get put out.

That would be nice.

Once upon a time, EU and NA maintenance were separate. You also had separate clients to download for each server instead of a single unified client as it is now.

A unified maintenance time is a good thing; let's not regress the mistakes of the past.

Lmao they've managed to make the one decent thing for Oceania players trash now too, if NA is going to 10am UTC, because that makes it 8pm AEST. Just like maintenance that always falls during our prime/evening time, now resets are going to be randomly in the middle of the evening instead of 10am in the morning.

There is a lot of confusion in this thread.

My understanding is this is just for the Daily Login rewards.

I am PDT and currently these reset at 5pm local time. It is very easy for me to miss them if I play one morning, am busy that evening, and the next morning. This will change it to 3 AM for me, much closer to the actual calendar day they represent, and making it much harder to miss them as long as I play that day.

Assuming all of those assertions are correct (with the time being +/- 1 hour (DST makes it complicated)) I feel that this is an overall improvement for most players who live closer to or in the regions those servers represent.

If any of those assertions aren't correct my feelings on the subject might change.

Re-read the note, it says specifically Daily Login Rewards. Writs, Endeavors, and Pledges are not Login Rewards.

It's actually pretty nice resetting at 8pm (it resets at that time est right now). You can not get it that night, come back from work and pick it up, and then wait a couple of hours and grab the next one. I think you're gonna like 8pm. I'm gonna miss it probably.

It resets in the middle of the working day now, moved to 3 AM it will more closely match the calendar day which Daily Login Rewards should do.

It resets in the middle of the working day now, moved to 3 AM it will more closely match the calendar day which Daily Login Rewards should do.

In EST it currently resets at 8pm, which is at night. If it was 10am EST it would be the middle of the working day. 10am UTC would be 6am, which is in the morning before most of us are at work and at a time that most of are still asleep or just waking up. This is similar to the way the writ timer works, as the writs currently reset when most are asleep. Hench, my desire for it to be 6am (making it similar to writs) rather than 10am (middle of work day).

This new change is bad for me especially when the servers go down because it means I wont be able to get back on till after the next reset.
