guess what am in and just managed to buy my mount can see everyone and interact.

    Anyway heres the URL:

    http://www.wtfast.com/

I tried using this VPN but it didnt solve the issue... maybe I am doing something incorrectly. Could you write down how to do it?

    Never used a VPN before.

@DanBlackfyre No worries. First I take it you installed and ran the exe? If so you should get a window asking for details, as trial is selected you don't need to enter anything just hit login.

Once its loaded, where it says Game, hit the Custom Games radio button, then add. For name just call it something like ESO, then use browse to select the games exe, which should be in:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client
its the application exe called eso

Then select the run with launcher, and do the same again for finding the launchers exe, should be here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\Launcher its called Bethseda.net_launcher

Then click OK. Next use the Server drop down to find one near you, select that, and Play should un-ghost. Click play and it should laucnch the game. Then simply log in.

Let me know if that works. Am going off line now as I'm GMT but will check at work tomorrow, and se if I can help any more if you still have an issue.

    All the best

Trying WTFast, and it's better. I can actually interact and use doors etc but it never lasts long, about a min before I'm booted off.

Anyone know/remember where in the US the servers are located so I can see if using their local WTF server helps?

@Midnight_Rose Its Maryland (Eastern Seaboard) Cockeysville apparently which is near Baltimore.

@NoirJ Thanks, tried WTFast's Boston server but just as bad as before trying the VPN. Ah well, I'll try again tomorrow. Good night.

Well WTF has not fixed the issue... for a couple of minutes it was playing alright and then gamebreaking lag set in again.

This is a problem for me too and yes I am with Virgin Media. I have a friend who is also playing who uses Virgin and they have no problems at all.

Call me old fashioned, but I just paid £70 to play this game. This is not my problem, it is ESO's problem. Either they sort it so I can play, or they give me my money back. Simples.

If this were just a problem with Virgin Media it wouldnt be so bad. But I am half a world away from you and I am getting the same problem.

    It is not just VM.

What is really annoying is that I joined up with a whole bunch of people, all of us wanting to play together. They are now a day ahead of me. Will I ever catch up? At this rate, I doubt it.

What is the process here? I put in a ticket asking for a call back, but have heard nothing. What do I do now? How long do I wait and hope for?

Get ready to hear ''Its your ISPs fault we cant do anything to help you, sorry.. lols!''

I had a 3 day discussion with costumer support about this during beta and this was the end result.

It is not just VM. It is other ISPs too!
  • onefiveone
Was the beta free? If so, that is a whole different ballgame in my view. I refuse to be bounced around between ESO and Virgin. I repeat - it is a problem with ESO not with my computer or my provider. As far as I am aware, there was nothing in the information before I purchased which said "check your ISP". So if I claim my money back, I will also be putting in a claim for the new laptop I bought just so I could play this darn game.

I highly doubt that your laptop will get refunded for this reason XD

But you are right they making us bounce between ISPs and ESO is utterly disrespectful!

i logged in at 6 a.m. EST and played for 2 hours with no issues until i had to come here to work. within an hours time this bottleneck started happening, and no im not on VM. zenimax needs to restart their server and observe if the issue is caused by an overload of people logging in or at least set a que to mitigate the strain on the server.

This is probably the same problem that showed up in Beta when the servers got overloaded. The main server is supposed to kick you over to a backup server when the main server gets overloaded but it may not be working correctly, or there may be just plain too many players signing in.

What the hell was the point of the ''stress test'' then?!

The 5 days early access was supposed to be one of the biggest perks in pre-ordering. Now it is down to 4 days assuming that they fix a problem that has been present since beta in less than a day.

Which obviously they wont since they are not even acknowledging it right now.
  • madscientist254
My issue resolved after I ran the launcher as administrator or maybe I got lucky and it just happened to stop at that moment.

It seems the early access for us unfortunate people experiencing this problem will only be 2days.

I doubt they can fix this in just a day since until now, no devs are acknowledging this as their problem and keeps on putting the blame on isps or computer configuration.

I want to make them understand that just because some people can log in and play the game smoothly doesnt automatically means the game isnt a problem. As long as a huge group of people still cant access the game means your server has the problem and you need to address it properly.

Ohio ,USA . ISP Time Warner . seems a fair bet its not just VM or EU . 6 other mmorpgs play just fine. They have the 30 days included to get this right then my wife and I dump this mistake and move on.

Judging by how it didn't work for me at all I assume it was just a lucky few minutes.

This is quite depressing. WTF wont fix the issue at all either... it just adds more lag.

Looking at what everyone has posted...
Over 5 different ISPs from all over the world are having this issue. I think the fault now clearly lies on ESO.

Same issue here with the lag leading to "Unknown Error Has Occurred." I'm on Comcast, and we have to PC's playing the game side-by-side (my son and I). He doesn't seem to have the issue at all.
  • asparagus6000
I also tried WTFast VPN as suggested on VM forums and, touch wood, it seems to be working, I played for a couple of hours lag free last night. I selected a Western Europe WTF server if that helps anyone.

I am playing it right now. At times it runs like any other MMO and then suddenly and without any apparent reason I get non-responses again.

I'd add Optus in Australia has this problem and I'm on a business connection which is given the highest speeds on the optus network, and this game is always timing out for me, in fact the error codes time out as well and barely show up.

The settings on their servers are set wrong or they have too little bandwidth to handle the amount of data.

I've tried to do a repair but currently it's download around 9 gigs of data, even though I hve/had the newest version. 1.0.0.9227

I wish I hadn't bothered with the repair now

I tried to log in early this morning, and everything is working perfectly so far. I guess that's not gonna last for long though!

I get the same thing... at times when no one is playing the game performs reasonably well but as soon as more than 10 people are online it turns into quicksand again.

I just hope they pay attention soon enough, is getting annoying that they have not even acknowledged the problem yet. They keep giving us cookie cutter answers

''have you filed a support ticket?''

Seven hells! I did that 3 weeks ago when we were in beta and you didn't fix anything!

@DanBlackfyre Am sorry to hear that dude, will be interesting to see if I get the same issue again tonight even with WTFast. Will update either way.

Am hoping by then someone from the Zenimax Support Staff will have given an update. If not guys may I suggest that you ring their head office, you can get the number off their web site.
