Map ain't made for that.

From a developing standpoint, you only make what the player sees, anything past that doesn't exist.

To put it simply, right now, if you were to "look" outside the normal intended range(For example, looking at the top of a mountain a player is never suposed to reach), you'd probably find ugly textures and stuff like that to crop out performance issues with lower end PCs.

There's more reasons, but they're generally listed in different posts.

No thanks. I got over flying mounts back in 2012 or so when I shoved WoW out to pasture.

One way to have flying mounts without having to rework the entire game would be to have them hover in the air. They'd work just like any other mount. I wouldn't mind a Dwemer hovercraft...

I just hope one day we get a winged griffin. No need to fly. Just tell us it`s not big enough to fly with a rider.

Btw I want wings on gryphons too just for effect.
When they can change big cat mount to gryphon, they can morph part of model to wings

Along similar lines you don't make the map bigger than it needs to be. ESO's maps are only just taller than the biggest object or tallest point in them, and if you're able to get up there you can't jump because you bump into the top of the map. (Not an invisible ceiling which could be moved, the literal top of the 3D cube the map is built inside.)

In some maps that might be ok because if there's a big difference between the highest and lowest points there would still be a lot of room above most of the ground - Wrothgar for example is probably ok because it goes from the mountains down to sea level - but other maps would probably have very little room to fly around.

If one wants flying mounts, there is WoW, Guild Wars 2, and I guess a few more.

Never in ESO.

Honestly, I'd much prefer ship sailing.

Flying mounts seem....too gimmicky and lame.

ANYTHING is possible .. never say never never say no.. ask and give ideas instead of thinking it will never happen .. tell them why you feel this way and let them know the game needs to know else nothing is never going to change..
if anything try and try again ..
the fact is people need to listern to each other no matter what type human you are.. or what job have or were live...
the fact is people are less willing to try to listern and understand they more willing to ignore and think about themselves..
group content is must in multi player games.. look final f... its got good group content but for me to flashy and meh.. i like eso online beacuse was about group teamwork at the start then the game decided to listern to solo players only meaning they control it.. and its sad,, group people left along time ago and don wanna come back till its group and solo alike equal.. its betst way to do things.. solo is not what this game is ,. its both .. not just solo..

I don't think fans would want to turn Nirn into Azeroth. This would be a serious blow to the "spirit" of the series. Even stronger than shimmering mounts and glowing skins.

well some us like to have mounts from old times .. and new ones but also in quests we nee dmore in events that we have now but we need in game one slike wolf mount .. and others that dig up but also ones that can obtain like wow and final fantasy..

Flying mounts are great in WoW because it has a much larger map and a lot more area to travel through. I don't think we need it here although there are times when I'm struggling to get around a mountain range to an objective I can see but can't reach that I wish I had one.

The devs know that players would support flying mounts. The management and business people know flying mounts would sell well in the crown store and help sell crown crates.

It’s just that the game is not designed to handle flying mounts based on comments from the developers.

So yes, it may happen some day. It’s extremely unlikely but Zenimax may surprise us some day.

I'd rather have mounts you can earn more readily through in-game activities like achievements, quests, more stuff like the ebon wolf, etc than flying mounts personally

YES! Naval PvP, oh boy that would be glorious! Your own shipyard, the possibility to build your own ships (Craft skills-dependant ofc), from simple ferries to whole galleons, conquering isles, ENDLESS possibilities

I would love flying mounts, but I don't expect them to ever come into the game. Many idiotic things related to travel would go away with flying mounts....

Neither is the Planemeld, 3rd era books in the 2nd era, argonians forming an alliance/partnership with their slavers, etc etc. eso wasn’t exactly lore friendly from the beginning.

Rich Lambert said it'd never happen because players with their current mounts are already getting into places they were never intended to enter. So that's a hard no.

The only "flying" mount I'd be fine with would be a netch mount. Which wouldn't really fly. It would work the same as other mounts and just look like it's floating a bit above ground.

A map overhaul to allow flying in all zones, add it as a chapter feature. Bam best selling chapter ever
