Flying mounts?

    Won't ever happen

1.Reworking ALL the existing map to take into account flying mounts will take way more ressources than it will give back

2.In those unaccessible areas you will not see anything more than you can now

3.Having to make such area will cause a massive increase of disc space for quasi nothing, causing disc space issue on consoles and performance drop both consoles/PC

4.PVP/Cyrodiil, what's the point of walls if you can fly above them, it will be called out as unfair advantage

5.The game never had verticality in mind even for basic movement so flying mount will be nothing but a huge mess, only chapter featuring this is the Elsweyr chapter with the grapplin hook, its already clunky and never used anywhere else (what I call a chapter gimmick mechanic, somethign unusable outside the area the DLC was attached to)

Rich Lambert said it'd never happen because players with their current mounts are already getting into places they were never intended to enter. So that's a hard no.

You must play in the way we want you to play! No coloring outside the lines!

What happened to "play the way you want to play"? Was that just a saying and not meant to be true?

Maps aren't really made for that. Here's what outside of the map looks like. I admit it's in IC sewers, but the same principle persists with overworld maps. Flying mounts would let you peak behind the scenes and break illusion, I doubt they'll add them at this stage. As for hovering ones, you really want mounts with the same functionality as regular mounts but without animation?

Of it's simply a cosmetic effect (some form of hovering), then it's fine. That would be cool to see. ACTUAL flying mounts open up a Pandora 's box of game bugs, glitches and misery. We are talking about potentially overhauling the entire base engine of the game. If you're REALLY just dying for flying mounts, go play Ark. We'll see you back soon when you get sick of bluescreening several times an hour, and their incompetent customer support. We DO NOT want that carp here.

Flying mounts will never work in ESO because the zones are really small. They aren't seamless like WoW. In ESO, you'd fly over the entire zone in 30 seconds and hit an invisible wall in the air. That doesn't happen in WoW because you automatically load the next zone before you're anywhere near it. I love ESO but it has too many loading screens.
