Every chapter after Summerset has disappointed me in some way, from the least -Elswyer, to the most-Blackwood, so I'm def holding off until I can buy this dirt cheap, as I don't see a $40/50 value there for me.

For me, High Isle didn’t even justify the price tag. I have no use for companions or new overland content considering the difficulty level of the game. The mythics are powerful of course, but this time I can already tell they will detract from the fun of PvP more than they add to it. I would be somewhat interested in the trial if the rewards were more worthwhile to me. Lastly, I’m not interested in the card game. My overall satisfaction with ESO has never been lower.

Art.work and scenery ,awesome as normal. The story content is.fair. I am not going to run a I9 processor and rtx.video card to play a card game that could run on my phone or any other low power device. It just does not belong here and needs to be in a app store. The expansion was just not worth asking the price. However the area of high isle is somewhat interesting but could have been much more. Instead of a wasted feature, sea battles and horse race could have been a home run.

My expectations were... I don't want to say low because it sounds [to me] disparaging; I'm going to go with temperate.

I knew that I wasn't the 'target audience' for ToT, one of the major pushes/selling points of the chapter.

However there is enough in the chapter for me to enjoy.

Departing from the 'Daedra plot du jour' was definitely a noteworthy 'win'.

What is with populating the PDs with fewer and fewer enemies every chapter though? If the trend continues next chapter the PDs will contain just bosses!

My expectations were quite low, but I'm still amazed by the druids with invisible chest (only on Xbox feature, maybe).
I find the main quest particulary boring but some side quests are fun.
I haven't tried the card game yet, not really interested in.

1st chapter I haven't bought. Mythics are terrible for PvP health. Knew instantly as soon as I saw oakensoul. Terrible. Garbage. Zone looks so underwhelming and small. "The Transcendent Lord" screams generic and unoriginal. No fixes to performance. No good balance changes. No PvP content updates (I want actual content, but fix performance 1st). Each year its getting more and more boring. I know zenimax is working on a new game and it shows.

I bought it and am kinda happy with it. I mean it does not legitimate 40 bucks but im kinda happy with the chapter. Tbh i only bought it (means in reality have to buy it for oakensoul but this selling strategy from zos was no surprise). What i dont like is the design of the lead drops for oakensoul. Such u a poor design to make ten thousands of players unlock a box or all hit 1 crab when you could bring the players to do something creative. Thats a shot in the own leg zos! What i especially like is that the ships actually roll in and out on the sea on the horizon and you can watch that.

I love it so far. I honestly bought it entirely for the setting, and did not expect to even touch the card game. I was very disappointed that was one of the main features. But I decided to keep an open mind and at least try it, and now I'm completely obsessed with ToT. I'll never be at the top of the leaderboards, but I do well enough to knock out the daily challenges without much trouble, and that's earned me some great prizes. For those who are on the fence about trying it, note that you can win some great stuff even when you lose a match.

Meanwhile, the main setting more than lives up to my expectations. If I could live anywhere in the game, it would probably be here. Love the landscape, love the seascape, love Gonfalon, love the furnishings. I'm very happy just to wander around sometimes.

The quests are fine. They are what they always are: not as good as a great novel or (some) premium* television, but better than the other games I've played. That seems reasonable to me. (*You could certainly make an argument that the writing's not as good as, say, Handmaid's Tale, but much much better than the last season of Game of Thrones.)

Granted, I'm also not someone who rushes through an expansion the first few days to complete it as quickly as possible. I like to take my time and immerse myself in the setting, do other things, etc. So it will probably take me months to actually complete this chapter, even just on my primary character. So I suppose if you're trying to just get through it as quickly as possible, or just farm furnishing plans while they're hot, it might seem a bit thin. For me, it's just right.

Honestly, if I could change any one thing, I would fire that tone-deaf bard in the inn, and replace him with the singing gondolier. Otherwise, I'm quite content.

I adore High Isle even though I have no interest in the time-consuming and confusing (to me) card game.

Love the stories being told, love the entire feel of the zone. I'm a huge fan of knights and the zone hits home for me.

Very disappointed. Its already dead on Xbox on a Friday night. Place was popping Tuesday. Obviously, not many people enjoying it if the first weekend is already this slow.

Both public dungeons are devoid of mobs. The bosses are not fun. Just a chore. The vents are boring with terrible tedious mechanics..

Yes, I said I wouldn’t but I got it right away anyway, lol.

I haven’t started the main quest or card game yet because of the bugs, but I am enjoying a new zone to explore and the scenery, and getting the dailies done and leveling up the new companions. The zone is not empty on PS NA even early in the day so that’s good.

Glad I got it after all.

I bought this last chapter for the script and Amber.
I have not yet tested the card game, not being particularly attracted.

Amber meets my expectations, much less boring than Mirri or Bastian. I’ve unlocked Isobel, but not yet tested.

But the scenario, what a cold shower... When I read that we would be entitled to a political intrigue, I dared hope to have something as good as Orsinium. We are far from it.

Concerning the protagonists... Many are useless (Jakarn) or very unattractive (Lady Arabelle). Nevertheless, I have enjoyed the Prince, King and Queen and their interactions. Also, we should find a solution with the "go talk to xxx" while the person is right next door. The fact that we can’t talk to more than one person at a time breaks my immersion.

Regarding the area... Given the size of the islands on the map, I did not expect a region as large as Summerset, so I will not say that I am disappointed, but I remain hungry. On the other hand, the end-of-scenario DLC zones are generally smaller than the one in the Chapter, so I fear for the future. Disappointed for the jungle of the prison island. We hear about its dangerousness, but we don’t see anyone there. I wonder if the monarchs didn’t clean up before we arrived.

Concerning the scenario... It goes. Nevertheless, from the beginning, I suspected that the final boss would be the Magus and that the Lord would be for the DLC. As a result, from the very beginning, I knew I would stay hungry. Also, what are these recaps at the end of the quest? I just did some stuff and the other one wants us to go over a list of actions just done so that we can answer "I did it!"... My character looks so stupid, it’s sad that I skip some optional answers/questions.

I mean, I wasn’t expecting a new class, so I’m not disappointed in that. Nevertheless with all this druidism, a new class was easy to implement.

And @ZOS, more than 50% of voters have not bought the Chapter or are disappointed. What conclusions?

Personally, I have my Khajiit companion, I will be much less impatient to buy the next Chapter.

My reply on another thread about this:
I really love High Isle as well. The companions are fun, the zone is really pretty, Amenos feels like an actual forest, the cardgame is a lot of fun, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of skillpoints the expansion gives.
I do feel the difficulty is a bit too high, mostly for world bosses. Which will be a major problem when the expansion is going to be older. And I do not like the volcanic vents much, they are too spread out with too few mobs and due to that reason barely give any exp. Volcanic vents also take too much time to do, and this will become a problem when the zone gets older. Basically they are not worth running more than once.

The expansion launched without any major issues, I haven't crashed once. I did run into a few minor bugs, which could mostly be fixed with a relog. So overall a fantastic launch!

Would rate High Isle an 8/10. Which is very close to my top expansion Morrowind, which I would rate 9/10.

PS: Would love it if ZOS revisited older zones and adds some more skillpoints in them, like Vvardenfell for example does not give many skillpoints at all. (The game nowadays has so many skilllines which we need to fill all at once(excavation/scrying/etc) from level 1, so doing this will only better the game.)

As someone who mainly does PvP, it's exactly what I expected.

Content I needed to buy for mythics.

And I'll use it to do dailies to sell new motifs for a few weeks.

And then I'll completely forget it exists.

But it looks nice. I like that this version of 'dolmens' are actually on the map and through 74 portals. So it's ok I guess.

Zero interest in the card game though.

Zone is good looking, definitely batter than Blackwood, but as always, there is nothing to do once you done with quests. World events are meh, and don't drop anything useful that would affect gameplay, like new alchemy ingredients from Dragons, Geysers or Harrowstorms. Card game is pure gambling and takes you out of the world completely, it really could have been just an app that is connected to your account, can't even check new mail when stuck in 40 minute match that was decided and second turn.

It meets my expectations since anyway after the announcements I was left only expecting for the story, lore and new motifs and on this aspects it's not bad. (except the collector motif [snip]. We went from a complete style for the other extensions to a "prestige" style as I call them. So going from 21 style pieces to just 7, for the same price. [snip])

But gameplay wise it's, sadly, totally meh as I expected. (except the trial from what i've heard)

World events are meh, I think Dragons (and to a lesser extent harrowstorms) have many more years to go before they are defeated. Or will never be. At least it's better than Oblivion portals if I have to say something positive.

The card game isn't too badly designed but I just don't really give a [snip]

New companions are nice, especially since they have dubbers that I really appreciate in French but are still half useless with their poor AI (especially as tanks.)

Any new weapon available to all classes would have been far more better than the 2 points above.

Indifferent about the new chapter. I did notice that the NPCs in Vivec that usually are yelling about their excitement about battlegrounds are now absent and in their place someone is yelling about a card game. I am sure I will eventually try the card game, but I stay busy with lots of things in ESO without a card game. I don't have time to invest in that!

ToT is great and worth the asking price alone. A non P2W card game is rare... (How much money you can dump on hearthstone to have a competitive deck is no joke...)

The storytelling is fine and I'm looking forward to the conclusion.

Tho ESO really need to improve on the public events. The vents are too short and become stale quick.

    Trial is fine.

We got what was promised, besides ToT we just got more of what was already there.
