So how do we use the new quick slots?

When I hit the quick slot I get the mouse options to tab through the different quick slot option types. But when I open the inventory/quick slot I get no option to move between the different quick slot types to slot anything into them, just the default quick slot menu.

On keyboard and mouse I think you need to click mouse buttons to switch the quickslot pages after pressing the quickslot key. RMB to move to next page, LMB to move to previous.

    Not sure on game pad.

How you add things to the new pages has been changed. For example, some of them are in Collections now. For example, to add to the emotes page you'll need to first go to the emotes collections

Yup this is what I was trying to figure out. The menu pops up on the side when you open individual collections so I got it figured out. Although the side menu for emotes seems to be missing. Odd that you can't do it from the different tabs in the quick slot inventory menu... ohh well, Thanks. :)

Gamepad mode is weird with the extra quickslots, to assign something to them you have to hold X/Square to cycle between them, but when using them you have to use Right or Left Trigger to cycle between them. I don't know why they made them two separate buttons to assign and to use.

I found that it is necessary to go to the Collections menu to add emotes/allies/etc to the new quickslot wheels. Not very intuitive but once you know it it is quick enough.

Yeah I'm pretty sure there was an Emotes wheel in the Emotes collections tab in the PTS. I just checked now on Live and it's not there, but the other tabs like Tools, Mementos have it.

Not sure if bug. I don't see any other way to add to the Emotes wheel

I'm glad the wheel got an upgrade. There was too much stuff to slot already, choices already had to be made.

On gamepad, click "Up" on D-Pad to bring the quickslot wheel and then press LT and RT triggers to cycle between "Tools", "Emotes" and "Allies" wheels.
PS - You need to assign all the stuff you want to the new wheels.

Thanks for the video. It is not at all obvious how to add stuff to the new wheels, and I didn’t even think of using the collections screens. I kept trying to do it from the inventory screen — with the far right quick slot tab. But that only works still for the original quick slot wheel.

This thread has made my gaming life easier, so thanks again!

I think making it possible to scroll through the different wheels in the quickslot menu would be a big improvement, for two reasons:

    1) As mentioned the current system is not intuitive. I discovered it by accident because I opened one of the collections menus to choose something and saw the quick slot menu, but as this thread shows a lot of people have missed it.

    2) I don't want or need entire wheels for each item type, and cycling through half a dozen mostly empty menus to get to the thing I want somewhat defeats the point of a quickslot menu, but I might use one extra wheel, so it would be nice if instead of having each object type pre-assigned to it's own wheel I could put anything on any of them. That's still possible with the first wheel, but as the others can only be accessed from within their own menus there's no way to put other types of objects on there.

(I know there are addons which give extra quickslot wheels that can be used for anything, and I assume they still work or will be updated, but if they're going to make it a base game feature it would be nice if it worked at least as well as a 3rd party version.)

Emotes are assigned from the help menu, as it lists all non-collectible emotes.

An update I was looking forward to, but will have limited use since really not intuitive or helpful for how a quickslot is actually used.

I really don't see the need to use it with all the addons I have that are way better, you can keybind each memento or emote or collectable.

I am happy it reaches more people, especially on console , but using it on PC is subpar to addons in my opinion.

Hey I’m on console so I don’t fully understand the new quick slot system yet - I hear that it functions by holding up on the D-pad and the clicking the left/right bumpers? That sounds reasonable.

Can someone explain what’s meant by how the quickslot wheels are now “preset”? Is it that one wheel is for emotes, one for costumes, etc? How many wheels are there?

On console you can equip them to the quickslot wheel, as its the only way to use them. How are they used on PC?

You can quickslot them conventionally. Unfortunately they take up valuable slots that can be better used by the likes of food and potions. A separate Quickslot Wheel for PVP in the new system is what I was on about. I hope that makes things more clear.

This is what I was hoping for. They shouldn't have made the other wheels for specific things and just let us customize the extra wheels eith whatever we wanted.

The change is helpful for some but useless for others. Making it fully customizable would have been perfect for everyone.

While this is a feature that is very useful, and I thank ZOS for implementing it, there is room for improvement.

Here's one particular problem of the current system: Everytime you open the wheel, it starts with the standard one, and then you have to move to the others from there. On keyboard you do this with either the left or right mouse button, it's intuitive and great, congrats.

However, the wheels are not only locked to a specific category, but also locked as to the order in which you access them. So, if you were to move to the "Allies" wheel, you'd have to move from standard wheel -> to "Tools" wheel -> to "Allies" wheel - every time.

This is unfortunate, especially when you stop to realise that the "Tools" wheel that stands in your way can't even be possibly filled, since there are no 8 tools to assign to it in the game.

Please, as many have already pointed out, make it so that every wheel functions as the primary wheel (you can assign whatever you want to either of them). You may change the current naming system to use numbers or letters (wheel 1, wheel 2), and instead of just being able to cycle between the standard wheel and specific wheel for the colletibles' wheels, just make it so that we can cycle through all of them.

Again, this is a wonderful and much needed feature, for which we thank you. But if you could modify it to be even better that would be great, thanks.

Yes, as already requested - all wheels should hold anything just as the primary does. Keep the same number of wheels but let us rename them and have the ability to assign the default wheel. That way we could have both a PVE and a PVP wheel. The current version requires us to recreate the primary wheel each time we switch between PVE and PVP.

You don't need to turn it off. If you don't want to use the extra wheels at all you can simply ignore them and continue to put anything you want in a quick slot into the first wheel (which will always be the first one to come up when you push the button) using the quick slot menu the same way you always have.

New problem - I quick slotted the mud ball tool and found that it is completely intolerable if left in the "tool" wheel. It takes too long to load.

Find a target to mud ball. Select quick slot. Shuffle wheels until "Tools" shows. Select mud ball. Activate. Realize your target has moved as nothing happenes. Quickly re-aim and press release and your second attempt has just used a heal potion.

    Ugh...

Question we should be asking is how do we go back to just quick slots ? I only PVP so I have no use for tools/emotes etc and when your fighting someone and trying to switch to a different potion EVERY TIME I'll just be cycling through them cause I was trying to light attack and have to stop fighting ( and most likely dying ) just to turn it off

I have mixed feelings. Whilst I found it easy to add items and it’s great for all the companions, I am also a little disappointed that siege equipment hasn’t got its own tab. I also find it slower using text chat emotes as I forget about the multi wheel and the other player vanishes before I work out what I’m doing.

The most annoying thing is that often during big fights the slottables tab suddenly comes up and fills the screen. It’s not so bad if it’s the initial tab as I can pop a potion to get rid of it but somehow I tend to end up on emotes, unable to fight until it finally tells me that the emote is not available and I’m half dead if it’s a dungeon.

I was waiting for this feature... Sadly, it's current implementation has zero use in my gameplay :/
I wanted either more slots by default, or have all items available on every additional slots wheel.

For example: I would put potions on 1 wheel, siege equipment on 2 wheel, companions + assistants + mementos on 3 wheel.

Still trying to figure out how they call the Old ... " Quick " slot, ... quick. How is it quick when you have to make a dozen clicks to get to what you want. And during combat? Really ? As far as I can tell, you get One item that is actually " Quick ".

I haven't been able to find any way to use the "Y" slot that shows up sometimes. My assumption is that it's for the companion, but I haven't figured out how to assign it - plus "Y" has another use already (by default). Thoughts anyone?

Press it. You get the error message saying "Your companion doesn't have an ultimate ability..." So it'll fill itself when you have a companion with an ultimate. Just barely figured that out randomly after not finding it after a couple searches.

Ok, I recently returned, and was pleasantly surprised to find these new tabs on the Quick Slot (and Ancestral Breton, but that's another story!)

BUT.... I am a Cyrodiil player, one of the two reasons (well, three or four if you including housing and fashion) that I play ESO.
So my quickbar is full - 1 food buff, 2 potions (tri & immob), and then Oil, Ballista, Ram, Tent, Door and Wall Repair.

So.... where the *heck* do I put my lovely personalities I paid for? In particular, I love putting the Treasure Hunter one up when I'm in a dungeon, The Wizard when I'm reading books, etc, etc. Could you find a spot for them with EMOTES perhaps?

Actually scratch that, I filled my Emotes with the newly discovered PVE emotes for Dungeons (nice touch, I had no idea they even existed. "Handle The Adds".

Perhaps make them for the "Mementos" instead (they're kind of more like that anyway).

    Cheers
