Group finder is broken again

    My only concern is that I think they had different matchmaking, before. I noticed I finally get under cp 160 players matched with me again.

    It used to pull closer cp players together. Not a problem or maybe this never existed, but time will show.

    I am happy they fixed the issue. On my end, I will wait to see if they provide compensations for this. I will reconsider coming back if it makes sense.

    Last night when the dungeon finder took us in it made 3 people in the party offline and i was online but they were in the dungeon and i was not

    I queued as a tank with a DPS buddy and we sat in queue for an hour and a half while we did jester stuff, never found a group. We just gave up.

    Everyone is going in one direction, I'm going the other direction

    CP tank toons, not getting in at all. Pretty sure during a double xp event, tanks would be getting in pretty fast. likely broken again.

    Does the Q work for pre-made groups trying to do random dungeons?

    Queued with my L18 DPS around 11am ET. PC NA. After an hour, logged off and logged in my L35 healer. Queued as healer. 40 minutes later I logged out of the game entirely.

    GF is broken again, ZOS. During a double XP event. Again. I really do think they've taken the Jester's Festival to a new level this year. It's one big practical joke.

    Kind of pathetic that if we throw around a swear word or two we'll have a ZOS mod here in seconds to edit and post about rules but the group finder can be down for nearly 24 hours on the PC NA server during a double XP event and there's not even a post to acknowledge that they're aware.

    How on earth do they keep breaking this? I cannot comprehend how that keeps happening. And seems like it's right after updates or during events or when there are xp bonuses. Truly sad.

    I work in software. If I had to guess, I'd say it's because of spaghetti code.

    My company went through fixing that starting in late 2013. It was a pain in the rear, brought up old bugs from years before, caused a lot of support calls, but we came out of it in much better shape than before. I'm not sure how well that could work out in a live game like this, but it is what it is.

    They kind of touched on this once before. Basically it came down to it's to intertwined to fix. They can do some things to smooth it out, but only so much.

    I have friend that works in databases all day. He said too from what he sees everything on the server that gets clicked, interacted with, proced etc all create calls. There so many happening, and it's so poorly written at this point, it causes it all to back up and then break. This is sort of what was going on with the changes in Cyrodil with removing the procs. Everytime anybody did anything it has to run checks against everybody else in Cyrodil and it just overloads the servers.
