PlayStation servers are down for 3 days, and ZOS extends the event for ALL platforms? Lol what?

How in the hell does that make sense? This means that PS4/PS5 users still *technically* lost 3 days worth of tickets and boxes or Xbox/PC got bonus days. However you want to look at it, it's BS. If this is how PlayStation players are going to be treated from now on, I'm letting my ESO Plus expire at the end of the year.

Sorry to hear the servers for your platform are going to be down for so long. That sucks.

That effected European servers on ALL platforms. This is platform specific, and it look especially sketchy considering it happens only to PlayStation servers days after Microsoft officially owns Bethesda.

They probably don't even have the capacity to turn it on for some platforms and off for others.

I understand it's not fair, but it's not nefarious; you're not getting singled out for different treatment; no one's picking on you. They're making up for the days you're losing, and they most likely don't have a way to do that for just you.

Do you really really really think that they are doing this deliberately to a huge portion of their players just because Microsoft inked a deal to buy them just a few weeks ago?

IIRC it affected only PC-EU back then, but all platforms and servers got the extension. So it is now ...

I think they understand you are speaking to this affecting only 1/3ish of the players in the game whereas the example @trackdemon5512 noted affected 1/2ish of the players of the game.

It seems they are pointing out that it does not matter if it affects only one platform across geographic regions or only one geographic server region for all platforms that Zos extends the event for everyone. While I have no idea what happened back then I was not playing the game, it seems the comparison is apples to apples as it is the very same event. At least I think this is the anniversary event. It has to be a lot of work to keep this game updated for all three systems.

    No.

Apple admitted to purposely slowing old iPhone speeds and reducing battery life in order to force them to buy new iPhones. So would Microsoft purposely have Bethesda make the QOL for PlayStation users worse in order to get them to buy an Xbox or PC and buy an Xbox Games Pass? If Apple does it to their own users, then yes, Microsoft could do it to PlayStation users.

Since players on different servers are not in direct competition with one another I don't see that it matters too much how long the event goes on where - having extra days on PS or any server will not put any of those players at any advantage over those on other servers. Losing a couple of days doesn't cause a disadvantage either really, but I'd rather people didn't feel like they were missing out. You could have a month long event on a different server and it isn't going to impact my game - so in theory, yeah sure extend it for you folks for the rest of the year, we aren't in competition and can't affect each others' markets for player trading so I technically have no issue with that.

You should absolutely get your daily rewards sent to you if you miss any.

The difference is that there's logic in a (purposefully) reduced battery life leading to the purchase of a new phone. It makes less sense that severely poor communication, time-management and laughable compensations would lead to anyone going for another round of torture on a different platform... They'll just have customers walk away from their product entirely

Show us the proof. As I understand it right now from reports both XBOX and PC are experiencing significant issues with this latest patch including hitching which is what is keeping the PS4 version offline.

That said please don’t make conspiratorial conjectures inferring that this is all some kind of deep state plot to get you to buy a system which frankly no consumer can actually purchase right now because the bot farmers get them all.

Don't be surprised if in the future you see ZOS offer PlayStation users the ability to transfer their account to either Xbox or PC clients.

No. I was around for that one. The issues were specific to PC/EU.

It was an issue that affected 1/6 of the megaservers. And everyone got an extension. Makes sense, though: it doesn't matter to anyone on PC/EU whether or not other players on other platforms get or don't get an extension. Players on PC/EU aren't in economic competition with PC/NA or PS4/EU, and it's much easier from a communications/marketing/PR standpoint to just extend the celebrations for everyone.

This is not some drama being written for some lame story game, or for some poor TV show. No one should be seriously going to crazy conspiracy theories when there are more suitable and plausible reasons that are plainly obvious. I mean, seriously, ZOS does mess things up when they roll out an update. Guild rosters on PC, anyone? Twice? It isn't even a stretch of the imagination that they could have messed up something in the Playstation support.
