Dlc in random dungeon, yes or no?

    But you are telling me that your method of having fun is the only one. I farm mats, do dungeons and whatever else I want, but the average time in queue plus the difference in time between pretty much all the regular dungeons and DLC dungeons, its not having 15-20 minutes it having anywhere from 20 minutes to 2-3 hours. I simply do not find the idea of having to set aside 2-3 hours because the game may throw me into a dungeon that is horribly overlong for a PuG with people of unknown ability and knowledge. The choice to remove the DLC dungeons would reduce the higher end of time a lot.

    They should really just let us toggle our eso+ on and off at will so we can switch it off before queueing for a dungeon if we feel like. I'll leave Unhallowed Grave immediately because i've never had a pug that didn't sit on the kiln boss for ages.

    Just add a toggle to choose to exclude the DLC dungeons if we want to, those that don't can leave it off and have the same experience they have now.

    They should really just let us toggle our eso+ on and off at will so we can switch it off before queueing for a dungeon if we feel like. I'll leave Unhallowed Grave immediately because i've never had a pug that didn't sit on the kiln boss for ages.

    The kiln boss got nerfed hard this patch. And this dungeon can be easily soloed on normal. Dont give up coz you had few bad pugs, its 15 min run with most groups.

    Make it so that the specific dungeon selection counts as random when you have selected a certain number of dungeons+

    As someone new(ish) to the game, I find the DLC dungeons to be a bit of a slog. I'm not high enough CP to blast through it, and most times I have a hard enough time just trying to keep up with the group.

    I would like an option to que for lower leveled ones. Maybe match make based on CP? Or maybe do what WoW did to Gnomer and split it up into bite sized chunks for the rando? You can keep going and clear if you want for 'extra' loot and what not?

    I dunno.. I'm still just trying to figure out my toon. Dropping the heavy mechanics and one shot deaths on me makes me feel bad for my group because I have no idea what I'm doing still! LOL

    Maybe we should have the 2 possibilities. With or without DLC.

    I might not succeed every time, when I do a DLC, depending on the group, but I like to try.

    I don't mind the way things are now but a separate que for random dlc dungeons might be a nice thing to have. Some of them can be difficult even in normal mode. Imagine the poor nub getting sent into one of the more difficult ones, no idea what they're doing. It can be scary for sure lol

    The problem is that I never get these dungeons when i'm on a dps. It's when i'm on a healer and both dps are snipe spammers is when it seriously causes problems, and it's pretty frequent.

    If you don't want vet dlc, don't queue for vet.
    If you don't want to play dlc (on normal) at all, join a guild and recruit a lowbie into the group.
    There's a simple reason they reward you for running a random; to speed up the queue for people queuing specific things, disabling dlc in random would totally defeat the purpose. Farm pledges like everyone else has been doing for years if getting a dlc is such a hard gamble for you.


    Honestly....I always hated when all 3 people leave a dungeon after I waited 20 minutes in a queue...( or worse when we are a couple bosses in)

    which by the way is why I never solo queue anymore if I need a set/monster helm from a vet dungeon.

    This weeks dlc in rnd queue post :neutral: As ever, if it bother's you, just cancel ESO+. I did it several months back and haven't looked back.

    What's the question tho - you say in text "Honestly I rather just get rid of the whole random dungeon thing and move reward to pledge." But then the poll is "Remove dlc from random dungeon vs Keep dlc in random dungeon." Are you proposing removing RND bonuses and switching them to pledge, taking dlcs out of rnd queue or splitting queues?

    As long as it's not Frostvault or Lair of Maarselok I actually look forward to getting DLC dungeons in my random queue. I play as a tank and the base game dungeons are no challenge whatsoever, just plain boring.

    Give DLC dungeons a separate queue and increase the rewards from Veteran and DLC dungeons.

    If the rewards for DLC dungeons were increased then I wouldn't mind getting them in the random queue. But as it is the DLC dungeons typically take longer, have harder hitting enemies, and are more mechanic-heavy than base game dungeons. It's not worth it for the same rewards that you can get from a base game dungeon.

    And before someone says "just cancel eso+ and you won't have to do the DLC"... I have cancelled eso+. But I own all content in game because I want to have access for when I feel like playing it. I shouldn't be forced to play DLC just because I own it.

    Random dungeons are one of the view decent sources for xp (= for cp = for character improvement) which at least are somewhat comparable w.r.t the xp/effort ratio to mindless zombie grinds which many long time players can't stand anymore. This has become more impactful with cp 2.0.

    An overhaul of the whole xp system would solve a lot of problems (less xp per mobs killed, more xp for quests - and in particular for repeatable quests like undaunted, pvp, trials etc.). A first step regarding random dungeons would be an appropriate increase in xp and transmutes if you end up in a dlc dungeon by queuing for random. From my experience on normal, they take 2-3 times as long as the average basic dungeons, so a factor of 2-3 for rewards would be appropriate - ZOS should have reliable data on average completion times.

    In the current situation, you are punished as a subscriber by much slower character advancement (regarding random dungeons) - not a convincing argument for ESO+.

    Of course, there is the option of preformed groups with a low level alt which guarantees fast xp in FG1, Spindleclutch1 etc., but I would prefer to play the dlc dungeons which I have paid for - with a fair reward!

    Eventually... they are super easy. I walked into a dungeon that I used to think was hard and l like I could carry them all.

    aint about difficulty really. more about time to finish them. some newer ones tend to take longer.

    I did that on normal as tank some days ago, when it was peledge... To my horror, when boss got shield, my group kept doing their rotations on him and nobody went upstairs to reveal the platform :o I'm very glad that this boss was nerfed, cause after the boss filled whole room with fire, it lasted only few seconds, and then the boss returned to normal state :D This is the case when I welcome nerfs.

    Also, most of DLC can be soloed. So having one or two people more is just good enough to complete the dungeon easily.

    Two days ago I got Stonegarden as dd. Tank left the group immediately like a coward (Stonegarden is rather short dungeon), but I said to other two people to not panic and that we can easily do it without tank. And we did :)

    Yesterday I got Depths of Malathar as dd. Healer and other dd left the group immediately. I said to tank that we can easily do this as two, and we agreed that those deserters were cowards :D Dungeon finder managed to find another healer before we reached the first boss, but we never found second dd. So whole dungeon was just me and my personal tank and healer :blush:

    In the end, I got the lead for Meridian Sconce from Symphony of Blades... I was very surprised, cause I didn't know about this antiquity at all :o It was extra-rewarding!

    And yes, I agree that DLC random dungeons could offer 2x more rewards than non-DLC dungeons, to make sure that people don't leave them immediately after joining the group. I never leave anyway :)

    I am totally against this option. Following this logic, you generally need to make one button "random FG1". I don't understand why for many people playing the game is torture. It sounds exactly like that. There are also very long vanilla dungeons such as VoM, BHC, CoA2. Should they be excluded too? Besides, it is not clear what kind of veteran or normal randomness we are talking about? I just refuse to believe that anyone on this forum can have such big problems on any normal dungeons.
    I am a high-level player myself. I become in the queue like a tank and just clear any dungeon in 10-15 minutes. I was never kicked for being a fake tank and I was never told anything bad. On the contrary, after completion, they usually write "thanks for the quick run" in the chat. Therefore, the problem of fake tanks and random dungeons, for me, seems to be from a different reality.
    Also, random dungeons are a good way to replenish your collection of sets. In the random dungeon, I got Сaluгrion's firestaff and Kynras' mace.
    Well, and most importantly - why do you think that random dungeon is a tool for exceptional easy farming of exp and transmutes? This is a bonus for launching dungeons, different dungeons. It's just a bonus for being active. Yes, I admit, there should be different ways to farm exp effectively in the game.

    I will add that I am farm weapons from new dungeons at the start and use the normal queue for this. Most of the players who come to the dungeon with me are newbies who launched a random normal. I calmly help them pass the dungeon in 10 minutes, if necessary, I put the inner fire on my panel. Everyone is happy, I get a weapon, newbies - the completion of the dungeon.

    I used to get nuts when I wanted some easy and quick first random of the day EXP, but now I don't care anymore.

    Different opinion - make dlc's offer higher reward. Either keep them in the random rotation and then up the reward if you get a dlc or have a separate queue for dlc's only that'd have higher reward. Personally I'd do dlc-only queue even with same reward, just like I already do vet randoms instead of normals, but we need to incentivize more people to run these. Much as I love them on their own, there's no denying that people running 1 random Frostvault are VERY disadvantaged compared to someone running 10 random Fungal Grottos 1 in that same timeframe, even though it takes a whole lot more effort.

    Oh, and while we're at it - random veteran dungeons should offer higher reward than random normals too.
