Best Battlegrounds mode for you ?

Hi !

I'm curious to know what is your favorite game mode in Battlegrounds. Personally, I found Crazy Kings really fun to play, every game on this mode is always dynamic and balanced, even if one team is theoretically stronger, because you can always be smarter than them. And you, what are your thoughts ?

They are all bad, because the 3 team format renders them a boring, low skilled, poorly designed, dysfunctional, uncompetitve joke. (even by the low standards of MMORPGs)

Deathmatch is fun, but I prefer Domination since I love objective based gameplay. Capture the Relic ends up turning into a match of who can bully the weaker team the best so I don't enjoy it as much, also I hate chaos ball even when winning.

Deathmatch...it's to the point and really don't have to explain to your groupmates to stay together. I mean it's still what they need to do...But in deathmatch it's pretty obvious.

I get tired of the different modes' gimmicks. Honestly I just want small scale PvP, and BGs is an easy way to get it.

whiel I like every other mode.....I just dont like them with state of pvp here as all these modes besides deatchmach is tank for the win tbh

flags? just stand and dont get killed, chaosball? mora tanklly you are you can stay for more getting more points
even capture flag - relic- just be tanky, bet relic and run away to your base not getting killed - who is most benefiting here? tank, just dont get killed

None... Small Scale PvP is super broken clunky and Unfun as all hell in this game.

Cyrodiil or nothing for me when it comes to PvP .

Crazy King. It’s just very nice how the action changes it’s place once a minute or so. Chaosball is super annoying when the bearer has high running speed and is a tank and deathmatch, while being funny at times, is just dull. Crazy King adds a nice layer of movement to it.

I love deathmatch most of all. Chaosball on second place. But I hate when team members played non-DM as deathmatch - I used War Torte to buff my rank gains all the time, so ignoring objectives and being on third place was really annoying for me.

Few weeks ago I finally finished Chaos Keeper title on my PvP main, and stopped doing battlegrounds at all - until we can choose our preferred game mode I was, to say it mildly, tired of random game modes - relics and crazy king especially

this. I play bg so I can respawn right in the action not miles away so the fight's over before I get there

Deathmatch because it´s the only mode that actually rewards you for PvP. The other ones does the opposite.

I don't play much BGs because I stick with a PvE tank with negative DPS, but I always favored the crazy modes - Chaosball and Crazy King. Deathmatch is kinda boring to me tbh because it's just running for kills and I don't have the DPS to get any, and CTR is too slow, especially when you're trying to drop off your relic while someone already stole yours.

I did have a lot of fun during the last MYM doing BGs with a group on comms, but it's not something I'd favor outside of group content.

not true...I've placed first on winning teams in both cp and non cp using my pve build. I have screenshots somewhere if anyone calls bs lol...a recent win using my pve build was on a 3 man pug team versus both full teams but I think it was chaosball

I'm legit logging off after I get a few domination or relic games in a row.
Extra bonus if the team with negative 10-20 kdr wins anyway.
Premade bgs are whatever most high MMR teams just play dm regardless of the mode, but all the super cross healing dot spamming magic comps make it pretty hard to enjoy those too.

I used to hate Chaosball, but I'm starting to like since I'm having a winning streak on that mode lol

Crazy King and Domination are 'meh' to me.

In a perfect world, I like Capture the Relic the most. I really love the idea - you need to cap enemy's relic but you also need to guard yours and if you don't have yours, you can't cap. I love how strategic it can get - force everyone into a crazy Deathmatch if everyone grabs each other's relic, or have 1 person save the day by capturing winning team's relic just as they're about to cap for 500 points and then just hold it and never let them get it back and claw your victory, etc.

BUT in ESO's world, I have a love/hate relationship with CTR as it's heavily dominated by stamina builds (well, all of PvP is but it's exceptionally apparently in CTR and Chaosball as magicka's few strong sides are basically useless there). I main a magsorc and, while I'm pretty potato at PvP atm and don't even have the right setup for it, I can still often do my share in Domination, Crazy King, Deathmatch (depending on other teams and my own really)...but I'm nigh useless in CTR. With even remotely competent teams, there's 0 chance I can carry enemy relic home. My saving grace, Streak, is disabled when I pick it up, and it only seems fair til you realize that even with ENABLED Streak, I cannot catch a speedy stam build if he grabs our relic. There's just nothing I can do. They literally sprint/dodge away faster than I can streak, immune to snares etc courtesy of 2h and with enough stam to break all my CC and dodge all my burst, all of that on top of being tankier than a mag build to begin with. I have a tanky stamina-ish warden (generally a PvE tank but she does dabble in some BGs for daily reward too) and I see the other end of the spectrum on her too - unless like all 4 (or at least 3) enemy players hard focus me right after I pick it up and before I get away, if I've picked up that relic, NOTHING (well, almost nothing) will stop me from carrying it home, I'll just run/dodge away. So with that in mind...

I like Crazy King because stam/mag difference is way less pronounced there, it's more about team play and following the objective, reacting to changing battle map (flag spawns) on time. Domination is imo bit meh because it un-favors actual fighting - you get less points for hardcore defending a flag from everyone (and winning) than you would've gotten in that same time just running around to empty flags avoiding all the fighting, leaving the flag as soon as it's capped.

My only real preference is that I don't like chaosball much. It tends to turn into a drawn out Benny Hill chase sequence. Even when my team is winning I just can't wait for it to be over.

Where is Capture the Relic option?
That's my favorite.

Especially since t3h l33t players are unable to grasp rules of it.

Random is best.

Youll never know the kind of team youre gonna get.

It adds thrill and suspense to how much trashing your going to get from premades.

I never win anything and feel like I won the lottery if I kill just 1 player.

I think they are all fine except Capture the Relic. If I could I would choose not to get it. Chaosball might be a favourite though, unless you get a team that treats it like a deathmatch.

I like capture the flag or crazy kings which is just random appearing flags to capture. There's a lot more strategy then just kill these people. Also being a tank sitting on a single flag is rarely the best option. You have to focus on all flags and making sure your team has the most and if a team is ahead of your score it's often better to go after their flags so they'll score lower and your team higher. You can go with your entire team which will give you a better chance if you run into a fight or you can try to split up and go for more flags at once. And those who think it isn't pvp well if you go to a flag and another team is there you'll likely end up in a fight even if you try to get away and it's unlikely you'll avoid a fight the entire game it's just a matter of picking your fights and planning your move based on what will likely get your team ahead in points.
