Carrying work items to work is one thing, but I know people who bring their backpacks everywhere. Several people I work with always come in with huge backpacks and it's not to bring work related items because everything we need for work is at work.
Regardless, the last thing we need in game is a huge pack on our backs.

we need capes
Get rid of big hip flaps first then add a 'hide ridiculous shoulder' option then we can talk about backpacks. I'd be more interested in extra storage slots on pets...especially the 'inventory' pets that add 5 slots that look like they should be able to carry your burdens like lydia

Edna says no capes.

Not too mention all the graphic problems I forsee. Walking down the road and your feet are clipping through the cape. No thanks. Just the other day I was wearing a dress and noticed the feet clipping through the fabric as I ran.

What's next? Fanny packs?

I can't not notice because they come in and toss these huge backpacks on the couch and chairs in our small break room, which is also where our lockers are. Or on the floor where people have to step around them.
They lug these in every day yet not once have I seen anyone open one to use something they just had to bring with them.
It's also interesting that the vast majority who bring backpacks to work are under 30. I think it's more of a conforming social statement than a necessity.
I'd rather a satchel, but yeah backpacks are good to. Would love any kind of bags/packs/hip pouches.
Theres several costumes with backpacks now

Wings, fake cat/fox tails, flashy sparkly things like giant fire crackers on the back... eeeeuuugghhh... you're giving me horror flashbacks to RuneScape...
Solomon's store ruined the aesthetic of RS if you ask me, it was starting to get impossible to feel immersed in that world when I saw other players running past with some of the goofiest damn accessories you can imagine... Say what you will about eso, but at least most of the cosmetics look like they fit the world that they belong in... MOST, but not all... I mean, when you see a max short, max fat, pug-faced balding orc in neon pink metal armor named "TooSexy"... xD
