Cyrodiil will continue to be limited to 19 sets until Q3 of 2021. Are you in favor?

It is "plenty" of players in relative, not absolute, terms. I would suspect that there are proportionally more players who dislike this change than there are of sweaty, CP-Cyrodiil resource 1vX'ers who seem to be its primary proponents. The latter are definitely over-represented on the forums, though.

Given the overall Cyrodiil population has increased since the test went live, that somewhat suggests that this is a more attractive ruleset for the community at large. And, yeah, those of us who sit here hammering on our keyboards do not make up a majority of the community by any stretch.

Now, could that population increase be due to players who are just there for double CP, or because they were curious about the new ruleset. There are potential explanations that we can't, currently, account for. However, that ZOS is now extending the test into Q3 suggests that they're happy with the metrics.

I realize none of this addresses exactly what you were saying, but it is worth remembering that the dedicated PvP community in ESO is a minuscule portion of the playerbase.
And I don't know the details about what happened to Sony but I do know that citing that a lawsuit was settled for a paltry sum does not necessarily say anything about the actual legal merit of the case - only that one side potentially had better lawyers--and the ability to sustain them indefinitely in litigation--while the other side did not. I don't remember what a PS3 cost but getting refunded 65$ of its initial cost would still likely be ~10-15% of the total. If someone had been subbed to ESO for 6 years and had bought all of the expansions at launch, that same settlement percentage would be several hundred dollars.

Except, it wouldn't. Because $65 dollars is significantly better than you usually see from similar suits. Realistically, the most you'd be likely to see out of a class action settlement would be a couple days of ESO+ or a pittance of Crowns. More likely, it would be a discount coupon towards the digital purchase of a Bethesda published game.

Seriously, class action suits tend to be seriously disappointing when you see them to their conclusion. "Your car could explode into flames and kill you, here's a coupon for an oil change at the dealership."

A lawsuit (class action or not) also requires a primary, and repairable, harm, called, a "tort."

There is no demonstrable harm here. "Oh no, a balance change has made my previous PvP build non-viable." Yeah, you can be banned from an MMO, and that is not a tort. There is case law on that subject. Balance changes are, pretty solidly, a non start.

There was no que last night, Friday night prime time, in PC NA grey host. ...during a pandemic and winter time.

Last few weeks has been the best pvp in ages so this was great news.

15% base mitigation + 5k base health - how do you kill somebody? By spamming dizzy swing and executioner? This will only make people running even more in ball groups and massive zergs.

ISee this is the problem- take away proc sets and you guys have no clue how to play, its pathethic.

Lol so far from the truth. It makes the game become boring. You are lumping all the banned sets into the op "proc-set" basket. Let's just take away all armor so it's even more skill based? Sounds boring right?

As someone who was initially happy to play no-proc PvP, the extremely limited number of sets available made me quickly reconsider how enjoyable it is. This is terrible news that this is lasting until Q3. I'll take Crimson and Vateshran procs everywhere over this stale testing environment lasting for several more months. I was planning on starting to actually play this game again but this piece of news has me reconsidering even paying for a sub. The test needs to end just as it was stated it would.

I do wonder how much of the positive feedback to the procless environment was the result of people simply being happy to play something different from the usual. It'll also naturally take the pvp community a few weeks to figure out how to play optimally in this new environment, so balance issues and new ways to 'cheese it' are not as much of an issue early on, which is when people were already praising this new meta.

That's the thing that bothers me about this decision, that instead of taking their time to find a way to reduce the effectiveness of procs while also taking another look at things like class balance, they just threw out the baby with the bathwater for the foreseeable future, condemning entire classes to underperformance and making certain playstyles nigh impossible for at least half a year.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

I won't be buying the expansion and sub will be cancelled. I don't want crimson etc etc but the sets like seducer, briarheart, slever alch etc etc should be left in the game. I will enjoy this weekend in cyrodiil but I can't be motivated to start working out all the new stuff in the patch, grinding CP's for a cyrodiil that is boring as hell, new gear that I won't need , full of magsorcs cos theyre not affected as such and people balling up together cos of the former.
As someone who only PvPs in the game and the only time I PvE is for gear I need for PVP you have just taken away all my motivation to play the game I have for 7 years.

    So no crimson, no calurions.

But things like lich, new moon, pariah etc are fine by me.

Lich is absolutely brutal in PvP. It is so much burst, it's not even funny. Stack with NMA, and... yeah, that's the exact kind of environment that got us here in the first place.

Uhm.... do you even have an idea what lich does?..... lich is the set that if you drop below 30precent mag you get 1k mag recent for 10 or 30 seconds and it is a 1 minute cooldown....... so idk where the burst comes from but ok then buddy nuke me with that lich set burst lmao

Yeah, that's exactly what the set does. And, on a sorc, it lets you drop CCs on your target, forcing them to burn their resources, while you still have the mag to snuff them. In the hands of an experienced player, it is nasty.

well I seem to be missing all the people running lich since most sorcs would rather run necropotence

No proc is good. But this desicion will kill build diversity. War maiden, nech's touch, blood drinker, sword singer, warior poet, potentates etc. should be enabled.

We’ve heard from a lot of you that despite performance largely being the same, disabling proc sets has breathed new life into PvP gameplay and has made fights more enjoyable and fun. To that end,

we’ll be leaving proc sets disabled until Update 31 launches in Q3. At that point, we will have implemented some new code so we can have more flexibility to campaign rulesets as it applies to proc sets.

We’ll work on applying all this to consoles as well, and we’ll let you know when we have a date for this starting.

Devs want to ban selected sets in future rather than what we have right now. I think the sets I mentioned above will be added in future.

I am in favour yes. The argument of missing diversity is just invalid by the fact that PvP Meta was never more than a few sets. PvP was very fun till now without all that people spamming light attacks and proc you with 3 sets. Its finally Stat and Skill based again like it should be and the only people who are crying are those who got carried by procs since ages and need to learn how to play the game now.

No diversity at all. Yes there was a meta but if you wanted to go for a unique build using non meta set, you could and still be somewhat competitive now you just cant

I also liked the randomness the proc added to a fight but i do agree some were definitly too powerfull

Turns out the ontology of proc vs not-proc was never firmly determined. Pity, but anyhow, can we please take a look at Enchantments and Poisons? They don't scale with stats and allow players to invest into defense and sustain, increasing their offense with no commensurate diminution in defense.

You basically had 2 groups complaining about proc sets. Group 1: average players, thinking they are pro players. Group 2: toxic pro players, that couldn't kill a whole ball group of average players anymore on their own. The rest was just like it always was before with a bit of a smaller gap between the best and the worst players.
However, even with proc sets, an unexperienced player couldn't kill an experienced player in a 1v1.

I have no plan to go to cyrodiil until after Q3. It's bad enough trying to do the PvE content and skyshards with wild hunt, cowards gear and the like, without it's just a bad horse riding simulator, and my PvP bomber is now about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

If I want to play a fun scalable no proc set PvP game that has loads of people at a time without lag, and simple gear dependency I'll go play minecraft or valheim thank you.

No you guys are just forcing your idea of fun into everyone else. This is a lazy fix because some sets are over performing. Not every single set is over preforming, so instead of waiting until a fix can be implemented to fix those certain proc sets, they remove every single set so you can have Cyrodiil turn into a land of xers.

I hate the proc meta but do not support this for 6 months. They need to balance specific sets and mechanics Not disable all and address later. Not like we are used to perfect balance that this calls for an emergency full disabling and limitations on sets

Time to git gud then by being successful while not being carried by procsets

Yeah, I have to re learn the game now that I can't use seducer or war maiden.
Such mindless carry sets these are.

Life lesson: You can never please everyone/people always find something to complain about.....

Someone help me understand(being genuine here).....prior to this "no proc" test, wasnt the meta more or less the same number of sets as 19? Wasnt everyone running around with basically the same sets? So now, there is a "new" set of "meta" sets to choose from.

To me, it just feels like another "change" where I have to adjust my build for the next few months. Maybe I'm biased because I've been running stat sets all along, maybe it's because I'm not as experienced as others on these forums, but I agree with many others on the forums when they say they enjoy the way combat feels during this test.

Lotta cynicism on this post, and I get it, fine, but hey, maybe ZOS fixes the issues lol.....
