I would suspect that there are proportionally more players who dislike this change than there are of sweaty, CP-Cyrodiil resource 1vX'ers who seem to be its primary proponents. The latter are definitely over-represented on the forums, though.
Given the overall Cyrodiil population has increased since the test went live, that somewhat suggests that this is a more attractive ruleset for the community at large. And, yeah, those of us who sit here hammering on our keyboards do not make up a majority of the community by any stretch.
Now, could that population increase be due to players who are just there for double CP, or because they were curious about the new ruleset. There are potential explanations that we can't, currently, account for. However, that ZOS is now extending the test into Q3 suggests that they're happy with the metrics.
I realize none of this addresses exactly what you were saying, but it is worth remembering that the dedicated PvP community in ESO is a minuscule portion of the playerbase.YandereGirlfriend wrote: »And I don't know the details about what happened to Sony but I do know that citing that a lawsuit was settled for a paltry sum does not necessarily say anything about the actual legal merit of the case - only that one side potentially had better lawyers--and the ability to sustain them indefinitely in litigation--while the other side did not. I don't remember what a PS3 cost but getting refunded 65$ of its initial cost would still likely be ~10-15% of the total. If someone had been subbed to ESO for 6 years and had bought all of the expansions at launch, that same settlement percentage would be several hundred dollars.
Except, it wouldn't. Because $65 dollars is significantly better than you usually see from similar suits. Realistically, the most you'd be likely to see out of a class action settlement would be a couple days of ESO+ or a pittance of Crowns. More likely, it would be a discount coupon towards the digital purchase of a Bethesda published game.
Seriously, class action suits tend to be seriously disappointing when you see them to their conclusion. "Your car could explode into flames and kill you, here's a coupon for an oil change at the dealership."
A lawsuit (class action or not) also requires a primary, and repairable, harm, called, a "tort."
There is no demonstrable harm here. "Oh no, a balance change has made my previous PvP build non-viable." Yeah, you can be banned from an MMO, and that is not a tort. There is case law on that subject. Balance changes are, pretty solidly, a non start.

I was planning on starting to actually play this game again but this piece of news has me reconsidering even paying for a sub. The test needs to end just as it was stated it would.

I do wonder how much of the positive feedback to the procless environment was the result of people simply being happy to play something different from the usual. It'll also naturally take the pvp community a few weeks to figure out how to play optimally in this new environment, so balance issues and new ways to 'cheese it' are not as much of an issue early on, which is when people were already praising this new meta.
That's the thing that bothers me about this decision, that instead of taking their time to find a way to reduce the effectiveness of procs while also taking another look at things like class balance, they just threw out the baby with the bathwater for the foreseeable future, condemning entire classes to underperformance and making certain playstyles nigh impossible for at least half a year.

Can you point me to a link of what sets are actually working in Cyrodiil. Thanks
Will have to have designated characters for this.

So no crimson, no calurions.
But things like lich, new moon, pariah etc are fine by me.
Lich is absolutely brutal in PvP. It is so much burst, it's not even funny. Stack with NMA, and... yeah, that's the exact kind of environment that got us here in the first place.
Uhm.... do you even have an idea what lich does?..... lich is the set that if you drop below 30precent mag you get 1k mag recent for 10 or 30 seconds and it is a 1 minute cooldown....... so idk where the burst comes from but ok then buddy nuke me with that lich set burst lmao
Yeah, that's exactly what the set does. And, on a sorc, it lets you drop CCs on your target, forcing them to burn their resources, while you still have the mag to snuff them. In the hands of an experienced player, it is nasty.

So maybe its about time to separate the PVP and PVE balancing act.
Make it so you can have 2 different setups Armor, Weapons, Skills and CP. Make one only usable in PVP an the other only PVE.

We’ve heard from a lot of you that despite performance largely being the same, disabling proc sets has breathed new life into PvP gameplay and has made fights more enjoyable and fun. To that end,
we’ll be leaving proc sets disabled until Update 31 launches in Q3. At that point, we will have implemented some new code so we can have more flexibility to campaign rulesets as it applies to proc sets.
We’ll work on applying all this to consoles as well, and we’ll let you know when we have a date for this starting.
I guess it procs when you use a skill costing magic?
Nah. Ill start this by saying i go out of my way to try and not *** too much, but at this point my sub is cancelled. Proc sets made pretty much no changes to cyro like everyone was saying they would, now a large portion of the items we could use are still not available.
ESO was better in beta. Yes im being serious, these are absurd decisions that are being made. and supported by all these idiots sucking on zos' ***. Basically the one reason a lot of players continued to play eso(PVP in cyro) is being changed to help the players that cant play, and will most likely be changed again, after we finish regearing all our characters.
Procs are fine, people are just *** whiney.
