Whyyyyy anytime there’s a decent costume or style do the devs go and ruin it w a flap?? I’m tired of these flappy bits on everything lately. There have been several things recently that all have it.

And let’s not forget the random bit of weird butt flap the Timbercrow costume has ;(

Inb4 crotchflap removal upgrade is available in the crown store.

An upgrade must be purchased for every costume and style separately ofc and it is sold for a modest price of 6k crowns.

it ruins what would otherwise be a fantastic outfit I was gonna buy it today but that flap was a big turn off for me.

Unfortunately, we are no longer the majority. I love the character models. They look fantastic in skimp. I'll just stick to my towel I guess. I am buying 5500 crowns tomorrow. Gonna save it for that 3% skimp factor hopefully before resub in Feb.

The irony is that the mini-shorts is what really kills it for me. I get that's part of the point, but I think it would have looked better with a skirt (instead of the shorts and flap), or with tight pants (and no flap.) I'm underwhelmed.

Agreed. RIP another great design because ... WHY?! Whoever is in their art department, or whatever "rules" they may have really need a change. Not to mention it's supposed to be an "M" rated game so regardless of "prim and proper" or "skimpy" designs it doesn't break any lore or rules. One of my guild mates said the gold pieces are not dyeable on the costume, and it even has 3 dye channels. ??? I almost bought it but decided not to and instead proceeded to yell out loud...

Yeah I don’t get their obsession with flaps, like don’t get me wrong they definitely suit some outfits but they completely ruin the look of so many outfits which could have been great. This particular outfit would have probably looked way better if they used a skirt instead.

My wife went on about how much she loved this outfit for nearly 5 minutes. Different people have different tastes when it comes to style. Just because it shows skin doesn't automatically mean it's designed solely for the evil male gaze. I mean - really - you're suggesting women aren't part of the design team. Unfortunate, really.

You're right as I have one female friend that loves it, two that think it looks silly, and another who was the one that made that thread talking about how much she hated it when she first saw it in the datamine back in July!

Everyone has their own separate wants, although this outfit has a few issues with it. Mainly the undyeable metal, the flap on the front, and how it seems to be all over the place in what it wants to be.

I really dislike the front-flap on this costume. I feel like this could have been a very strong JRPG-inspired costume without the front-flap. The un-dyable metal bits is also disappointing. Overall, I like the outfit, but I can't help hating that could love it with only two changes; dyable metal bits and zero front-flap.

Can’t wait to hear how Tera’s designs are targeted toward women because some women like the thong armor.

There’s a different between multiple communities liking something, and that thing being designed for a particular community. Not that this accomplished it on either front, the thing is ugly and reminds me of middle aged Walmart goers who think they’re rocking the booty shorts.

But the whole idea that female sexuality only exists to appease men is sexist af. There's plenty of women irl who buy lingerie, do makeup etc because they enjoy it (even if no one gets to see said lingerie). There are even modders like Krista (nsfw link), who actually like the whole armored bikini aesthetic.
Thing is, it's much more complicated then "catering to 12 year old boys". I don't care about this specific outfit, but I hate the notion that women, even digital ones, must be covered no matter what. Female body is not some filthy thing that must be hidden away.
