My wife went on about how much she loved this outfit for nearly 5 minutes. Different people have different tastes when it comes to style. Just because it shows skin doesn't automatically mean it's designed solely for the evil male gaze. I mean - really - you're suggesting women aren't part of the design team. Unfortunate, really.
Can’t wait to hear how Tera’s designs are targeted toward women because some women like the thong armor.
There’s a different between multiple communities liking something, and that thing being designed for a particular community. Not that this accomplished it on either front, the thing is ugly and reminds me of middle aged Walmart goers who think they’re rocking the booty shorts.
Some women do, some don't. Both options are valid, as long as it's individual's choice.
But the whole idea that female sexuality only exists to appease men is sexist af. There's plenty of women irl who buy lingerie, do makeup etc because they enjoy it (even if no one gets to see said lingerie). There are even modders like Krista (nsfw link), who actually like the whole armored bikini aesthetic.
Thing is, it's much more complicated then "catering to 12 year old boys". I don't care about this specific outfit, but I hate the notion that women, even digital ones, must be covered no matter what. Female body is not some filthy thing that must be hidden away.
I really dislike the front-flap on this costume. I feel like this could have been a very strong JRPG-inspired costume without the front-flap. The un-dyable metal bits is also disappointing. Overall, I like the outfit, but I can't help hating that could love it with only two changes; dyable metal bits and zero front-flap.

I totally agree with this, and I’m a woman too. I haven’t decided yet whether I will purchase this costume or not, but I generally like dark and sexy costumes. Outfits are already very much covering in general, so it gives some variety to have different types of costumes to show of your character.
I think these discussions about sexy things being made “for 12-year-olds” resembles those claims when people state that “characters with big chest and backside are the way to recognize men playing female characters” or those 12-year-olds. Well, I’m sorry, but most of my characters have big breasts and even bigger backside with a smallish waist. Because I like how that looks. I have no problem with different shaped characters and I like the variety in NPCs, but personally I like to make and play sexy looking characters with pretty faces (of course with some badassness added). I guess it’s part of the game for me that you can play as a character which looks you can admire or look up to.
Edit. And yes, the flap seems kinda out of place to me. I don’t really see how that fits better than being without it.

Well, lets face it, without the frontflap half the playerbase would zoom in to see if those hotpants are as tight as they look. Purely out of of an interest for tailoring of course.

Eeww, that is gross, why does the image show someones Vampire Granny wearing it?
I'm now wondering if the flap is actually to hide the area if a male character puts on the Dark Passions outfit.
Like with how bodybuilders (and notably the Rock), tuck a towel into the front of their waistband when they're wearing tight compression leggings.

However, as soon as you run, the crotch flap kinetics kick in and the damn thing starts flipping up in the air and slapping you in the face. Seriously ZOS?

Every time we complain about them, they vow to make 10 more costumes/motifs with them.

It sure seems that way. It's like "So you don't like our armor designs? Here, take this!" /bigger longer more repulsive flaps

Yo, we heard you liked flaps! So we put flaps next to the flap, so you can have flaps with your flap!
