I'll sometimes send people a whisper telling them that I'm a PvE player, and that I don't participate in PvP fighting and won't fight them, even to defend myself, and I would really appreciate being left alone, but I also understand this is a PvP zone and I won't hold it against them if they kill me again.

But I'll also run up to enemy players with clearly no intention of fighting (putting away weapons, playing lute, etc) when I complete the quest in a Imperial City district, then whisper then to thank them after they kill me because I hate running through the sewers to get back to my faction base. (Since I don't care about Alliance Points or Tel Var, this is really the easiest thing for me.) And I sincerely mean it! It's not sarcasm or salt or snarkiness or anything like that, it's a polite expression of gratitude.

Last event hate whispers I got were mostly from pvp players when they died to me. I remember one claiming all his viewers were laughing at me...I'm like yep sure they are.

I don't normally PvP but did this event to get enough tickets to get the new berry for this event. I only have one level 50 character and only 130 CP so there was no way I could hang with a bunch of seasoned PvP players. I did get mad when I got killed by others while working on the quests and cussed them out by yelling at the screen, but didn't whisper any of them since I know that it is just a game.

I actually was waved at by a few from the other factions (I played on my AD Nightblade) and one time I came out of a building near one of the gates between districts and saw 3 EP players come through it. Instead of running I just put away my weapons and sat down waiting to die. They just waved and laughed at me and went on to where ever they were heading. Needless to say after getting killed by other players while questing, it surprised me that they didn't kill me.

I got a page from a purple box out of WGT today. The chance is lower then from a gold box, but they do drop.

Astounding to see how many players in this thread that are of the opinion that because they need to play IC to get their rewards it somehow justifies terrible behavior.

I've always been of the opinion that if you get angry playing a game, then you have already lost because you are defeating the purpose of playing a game.

If I do reply to angry whispers I usually just reply with to show that their comment had no effect on my enjoyment of the game.

nobody has justified the comments made, in all things there are to sides who are we to say this is the full story or even the full convo its just a SS snipped to highlight what the OP wants us to see, how do not know the player commenting had been trying to finish a quest for 2hrs and was getting trolled by OP's group continuously before they snapped? i very much doubt the SS was the entire convo

If “hope your family’s dead” is normal trash talk in this game, then I am turning off all whispers. And yes, I think that the person should be banned. To me, that is a lot worse than “obscenity you!” Especially since they followed it up with a remark about wanting to see how his family die.

No excuse.

No, people should definitely be banned for such harassment. I think if Zos was better banning for in-game chat then people will do better to control their anger. Because it's not the game that makes a person toxic, it's poor anger management

If you try reading the event info, you don't have to do PvP to get tickets

I'm playing pvp since eso launch in 2014 and actually my ignore list is full.
Ignoring can't be a viable solution. We need zos to do something too in theses cases.

IC is where PVP meets PVE. It's not a safe place, players coming here know it.
Farming telvars is something hard during IC event & Pelinal Event, because there are a lot more players. That's why if you have got too many stones you need to go back to your bank fast. If you're losing too much, it's your fault; not the fault of pvp players doing pvp in a pvp zone...
And nothing can justify to whisper hoping your family's dead.

Are you sure it's viable for every alliance? From my experience it's doable on EP side. I haven't checked it on AD side but it's not possible at DC exit because the mobs are too far. You also have to wait a long time till they respawn.

EP too here, and no other alliance characters to check. Are mobs too far for DC even for snipe? That's unfortunate. Even so, when one hates IC to that degree it may be viable to roll an EP character for the sole purpose of farming tickets.

What District is this done in? Sometimes I just want a proof without the headache.

For all people here [snip] about getting the event tickets from IC well...you can get the golden legion box + the event tickets from the IC dungeons aka WGT and ICP and the best thing! For all people who can't handle pvp and dont want to do hard pve content: It counts in normal! Did that yesterday with my gf and 2 friends, friends toons were level 10 and just got invited to get free event tickets so they can skip IC. Don't join IC if you proceed to complain on the forums about it.

Way I see it is pvers give just as much xp, ap, and telvar stones as a "real pvper", sometimes more. So I kill them on sight, sometimes as many times as they are willing to keep coming back. Bonus points if I find a squad of them tunnel visioning a boss. The rage messages are just icing on the cake.

Funnest event in this game by far! Loving it.

Him: "you are cheating"

Me: "have a nice day dear"

Me: "then don't have a nice day, fine, your choice"
Him: "you are small idiot, face report"

Then me and guildies proceeded to laugh at this conversation for half an hour with comments like "when you mom tells you to tune down the swearing".

I even have a character named after the occasion, "small idiot", it was a very entertaining encounter.

In another conversation I was whispered in IC that I interrupted a duel (with some additional swear words) then I proceeded to explain him that I don't understand why I shouldn't attack him in PvP zone. He went quite pretty quick, no extra gold entertainment there this time. Anyway, ye, be polite, be nice, and it becomes really funny. And if it won't, the chances for the report to ban them will go sky high

Yeah, I usually reply by quoting one of the loading screen tips, like at level 15 you can equip two weapons, or similar.
