Some people have not learned to deal with their strong emotions and so when they feel something strongly, like anger from defeat, they want to express that anger, to make other people, in this case you, their nemesis, understand just HOW much they are actually feeling this anger. But this anger, it's so great, how can they possibly ever express anything that would make you understand the extend of it? Well let's try saying something truly forceful, something that is so harsh and hurtful that they now simply must understand, lets say the worst thing to them that will hit their emotions.

Obviously it is not okay to say such things to others. I dont think he should get banned, but maybe a warning would be fine. Best thing though would be for him to learn to deal with his emotions so he can express them in constructive and non harmful ways instead.

Unfortunately she can't...she never learned basic combat system of game, she uses whatever skills she finds cool, and mixes stam and amg alike, dual wield one bar, destro other. Anything more than a quest boss or public dungeon is beyond her skills.

She has a problem where she can't get too tense, she plays the game to relax not to get hyper.

And most of the time it falls on me to get the hard stuff done when she needs something done.

Yday I showed her how to do the simplest of quest in Nobles, where you dont have to kill anything. Ofc you'll prob die a few times, but now she has come to terms with it and says whatever. Die a few time go back and be done with it.

Yeah, this will happen. This event brings the best and mostly WORSE out of people. Like others have said, if you get a mssg like this...you did EXACTLY what PvP is supposed to do. lol.

I'm not gonna say they should banned or suspended as the event really does create an OCD overload in the sewers. Don't take it personally. However, if the person does continue their messaging...meaning, they just won't let it go...report them.

I PvP a lot and the only supposedly salty whisper I can recall is from when I intentionally ran up to the door of Bleakers to die to the guards to death spawn somewhere else and some guy coming out of the door chucked in a light attack and then whispered to say I was ‘&hit at pvp’ and should ‘l2p’. Think he was working on his salty whisper apprenticeship at the time.

That’s....not true. I have an entire Discord channel for screenshots of my favorite tells. All in cyrodiil except for one super salty dungeon pug. (It used to be a photo bucket album until photobucket decided to need themselves into uselessness).

Honestly I get more funny banter with enemy players, and many questions about lag experiences, or asking what our O/D tick was after a big battle, but there are a fair number of rage tells in cyrodiil too.

PvP is a option where players attack each other. You know this before logging into the campaign.

That persons comments are not acceptable. No matter your level you are fair game in PVP.

In my world of warcraft days back in 2004 I unknowingly pissed off another player because he died to a mob just as I entered the area. He must of thought I was watching him die or something because he sent me a whisper wishing for me to die. 😂

These kind of messages are usually from kids or people with rage issues. I wouldn't worry about it. Just report and/or block and move on laughing. ☺️

Pff. I don't PvP, so I don't have to worry about this. But most people find ways to get back at those who are salty like that.

I would have gone along the lines of "If you keep wishing my family dead, I'll keep stealing your Tel Var, forever."

Nah, lol. We all want a 1v1 when that sort of thing happens...but do we get it...most of the time no. I've never sent a hate whisper in my time in ESO but I can say I've received plenty and they all make me chuckle. If you were to send me a 1v1 request I'd for sure take you up on it...the worst that can happen is I lose but at least my characters honor remains /arm flex

Have just gone on to my newest tinsy character to check what requirements WGT has, and it says level 45, same seems to be the case for Imperial Prison. If that's correct (and it certainly looks locked still for my newest character), then players who are not in possession of a level 45+ toon yet, do seem forced to go into the city to get their event tickets, as well as if they wish to try and get some of the motif drops. If they on top of that hate pvp, it is not a fun event for them, that's for sure, and experienced pvpers ganking them no doubt makes that worse.

That's not to excuse the comments that player made, most certainly not, but I sort of don't feel much sympathy for the OP either. I think many pvpers pray on the masses of inexperienced players coming into pvp due to the event. You get stealthers lurking near quest objectives, killing people in hopes to get Tel Var, or near skyshards, while giving a damn about how a low level, with no other option but to enter the city to take part in the event, feels. Just a bit of good character, a bit of empathy, can go a long way.

I have pvped in other games (and starting here finally as well), and I never touched questers, and people in group with me who would kill questers, got earfuls by me.

I am mother of 3 in real life - I can give good ear fulls ;P

I can imagine why that lowbie wrote what he wrote. Not trying to justify his behaviour but we have to look past what he wrote and understand why he wrote.

While I sympathize with your wife, she can do either ICP or WGT group dungeons and get the tickets from the final boss. That is a fully PvE option so long as 3 other players run with her. You aren't actually forced into Imperial Districts/Sewers.

I play similarly to UrbanMonk's wife and was a bit peeved at zos for the pvp bs, then when I found the ICP/WGT option - well okay. BUT no doubt zos wants $ spent on tickets from store.

As for OP and the lowbie: lowbie has few resources (resilience/recourse) to do anything immediately about his loss but to try to pull a bad juju to you with (and I find this ironic) a whisper. I'm sure others with lowbie's limpness experience has done more to impel them to strengthen their game and achieve success as their best revenge.

The mad PvP'er initiated the comment of "hope your family dead" and you said that the OP baited him? Come on now, you cannot defend that type of behavior. No, this is just a video game and no matter what happens you cannot condone someone who speaks like that. Deserves at least a week ban to ponder his/her actions, and potentially some anger management classes on top of that so you can control yourself better.

It wasn't a nice whisper.

But killing a low level player and stealing his money wasn't exactly nice either. In fact: some people might describe that as being mean also. ^^

In any case: I don't think this person should be banned. I know it's a PvP area and within the game rules and all... but still... it's kind of silly to me to talk about banning players for mean whispers on a game where you brutalize each other with great swords. I also doubt there is anyone who plays this game who has never lost their temper - not even once - while PvPing.

If the whispers bother you, just put the player on ignore. Problem solved. No one needs to be banned. Because I can promise you: if you go around hunting low level players to steal their money this is probably just the first of many such whispers you are going to get. haha

I've had far, far worse.

While I don't approve of wishing someone's family to die - this was actually quite tame as far as hate whispers go. If I were to go into detail on many of the ones I've received I would be instantly banned from this forum for life. lol

Some of the most sadistic things I've ever read in my life have been from hate whispers stemming from this game's PvP.
