Summerset Event and the Grand Psijic Villa

Is there a chance of the Grand Psijic Villa coming back this year?
Last time they reintroduced that house, it was like 15k crowns.
Regarding all the fuss around performance issue, I think they should allow us to buy it with gold, or at least let us GIFT IT.
Not a fan of selling something that was originally free, especially for such an outrageous price.
It is fair having any sort of compensation after all this downtime

I think the high price is (a) on par with other houses of that price and (b) meant to protect the exclusivity that came with the initial availability of the house.
This is a very common situation in MMO sales, unfortunately. At least it's making a comeback. MMOs that declare XYZ item will "never be offered again" or similar usually regret it eventually.

But definitely, at the very least, bring it back somewhere somehow for people to acquire it again.

You're partly right. It was an event reward where you could unlock different prizes based on the number of people getting the Summerset pathfinder achievement. The villa was the top tier reward.

Only if you owned Summerset at the time of the Summerfall event. It was basically a "Buy Summerset on sale, get a giant house free" sort of deal.

Some players can be salty about missing it during the Summerfall Event when Grand Psijic Villa was given as an Event reward ... but that doesn't justify a wholesale change to the game to now all of sudden offer housing gifting.

ZOS says they've heard feedback on housing gifting. But, I wouldn't expect that to be implemented just for the Summerset Event.

I think they gave it as a promotion since you either have to go through 3 loading screens (leave house, enter college, exit college) to exit or pay to port to a wayshrine. Pretty house, but annoying to use unless they've changed the exit.

Almost everyone who has this house for free doesn't know what to do with it and uses it for storage. Including me.

It was a great and cool promotional gift (more please!! lol), but it wasn't free, and I wouldn't worry too much about missing out.

This is true. Participation was required. If they started giving it away to those who did not participate then fewer players would start getting into the events like that because they know they will eventually get it anyhow.

I have heard Zos did sell the home during last year's anniversary event but I do not think it was free.

Not exactly correct. Ownership of the chapter was not the only requirement. One had to have logged into the game while owning the chapter by October 7th of that year. That was the participation that was required.

Not wrong. What you mention was the goal for all players collectively to unlock the rewards but was not part of any individual requirement to receive the rewards. An individual player did not have to do anything but log into the game while owning the chapter before a specified date in order to receive the house.

Look a the link I provided above. That is Zos' news article and it specifically states what I just said was the individual requirement.

My point, in the beginning, was that if Zos just started rewarding these things on the anniversary of the events it may diminish player interest

IDK is correct - you just had to log in to qualify. yes it was a reward for filling that meter, but that meter did NOT require every single person to participate and more importantly, if you didn't participate, but owned summerset and logged in during specified period - you got the villa as well EVEN if you haven't gone into summerset the entire time, let alone completed pathfinder.

edited to add. 1. while I think it was a nice thing to do as a community, i'm pretty certain that the way event was set up is that no matter the participation, we would have gotten all the rewards. reminded me a LOT about that one scene in Galaxy quest, where they have to disable the reactor and they make it in with time to spare... except timer keeps going until stopping with 2 seconds on a clock... because that's how it always stopped on the show to add to tension. reminder - that progress meter? was not updated in real time but rather updated manually once a day. so for all we know - they had those screen grabs ready to go before even even started

2. I personaly have no issue with villa coming back in some fashion. make it a crown purchase for a limited time during summerset celebration event if anything. think murkmire. those that did logging in daily - got the DLC added as part of login rewards for that month, no payment required. everyone else has to either buy it, or be subscribed to acess it.

Mine is a fully decorated altmeri paradise.

Over 13 relaxation coves and spots to meditate read do art.

An outdoor waterfall bedroom. An outdoor artists loft. Its sceanic romantic beautiful. My challenge of making every part look decorated and lived in was rough but I did it.

The interior is a private chapel. Relic museum. And grand library.

It's honestly a masterpiece. With 100 percent confidence I know it's a unique part of the server and no one will ever decorate that place with as much care attention and style.

Ah, my biggest regret. I'd love to get the house but the crown price was just too steep. It's not THAT great. It would be nice to get it for gold but I doubt it. I was hoping it would return as some kind of free reward again but that ship has sailed when they added it later as a Crown Store offer.

If I didn't have Chateau and Coldharbor homes, I would use Psijic Villa as my home. I actually can't believe we got it for "almost" free.
It was the best community event ever Pet, mount, house as rewards. I'm sure we would get them 100% no matter how many people participated. But it still felt great to unite with many players, helping new people from NA/EU to get wayshrines for their characters. And the live stream with lore master was very fun, it actually looked like they cared... Of course there could be much more RP from them, but it was still nice that they dedicated some time to join the players and motivate them Lemming rush from the cliff was hilarious

I hoped that we would get same awesome events and live streams with lore master for every new chapter, but unfortunately they stopped caring Elsweyr's event was not too bad, but nothing compared to the Summerfall.

I love the house, I basically use it as an al fresco lounge for my players.. it has enough outdoor space to have easily separated themed areas for different races, classes, crafting etc. And its ‘everything in one place with only one load screen’ layout makes it far superior to the irritating multi load screen/multi purchase cathouse they tried to flog last year.

Giving it away as part of the Summerset event was a great move and got a load of players into housing. More of that type of thing please.

I missed the event, sadly. I would like to own the home but the Crown price was too high for what was given freely. It would be nice if they put it back in the store for 5 or 6000 Crowns like Moon Sugar Meadow. After all, it is just a cathedral with a couple of rooms.

I would've loved it if the villa came with furnishings too (too much of a hassle to start from scratch), but even if you reach the furniture cap the house still feels rather empty

It was a great gift indeed, but it still doesn't beat the other houses I got. Right now, it's just a big ol' storage cabinet for excess furniture

Agree, one tricks is that you can always travel to one of your other houses. I bought snugpod just to port close to the master writ turn in as I port to an guildmate house for master writs.

Its a bit large for me to decorate so I used it for storage.

This is definitely true because I had bought the game at that time, but I hadn't actually started playing yet. The thought of really playing an MMO was just too intimidating. I did log in every day, though, so when I eventually began playing, the house was in my account although I didn't have a single achievement.

I had already looked at that but after the loading bar disappeared (after event)it seems the rest of the info about getting pathfinder achievement is also gone. I distinctly remember this as I created an account on EU to get the pathfinder achievement on as well cause the only thing I wanted was the house and we had to fill the bar up to full to get it.
