The only reason I'd recommend this game to then is because it has a bunch of quests and if they like that then they will be happy but everything else is so lackluster.

Yes, it's still one of the best MMO's to ever exist and no MMO is without issues.

Some have MANY more issues and are way less populated than ESO. I PvX and the quality is extremely high in both areas.

The QQers will always QQ (there are ofc legit issues, but so much QQing in any game because the majority are not QQing and are instead enjoying themselves whether in game or elsewhere --- THUS you mostly read the QQing making a lot of noise).

I've run into issues with this game and EVERY MMO --- but it's never absurd or to the point where I want to uninstall over it. I have never felt that way about a game, then again I don't rage over video games either so to each their own.

I would recommend this game to any friend that is a fan of Elder Scrolls, MMOs, RPGs, Fantasy games or just looking for a rich, high-quality experience whether playing solo, with friends or even with randoms (yes the LFG could still be improved, but that's a drop in the bucket all things considered).

The state of the game in general in Greymoor?

Or the state of the game right now? When you know...no one can sign in. :|

In general (when it's working) ESO is a good game. :) I did recommend it to my friend and she likes it a lot. So...yes, but it depends.

if they would ask me about it, I would give them all the pros and ALL the cons, so that if after that, they still want to play, at least they know what to expect.

I mean, ESO is still my main game (but maybe less than ACNH, and maybe Minecraft 1.16 now). I play and do something enjoyable almost every day. I love my guildies. But the pain in the hindquarters of login errors, lockups on char select, lag in game, black outline players & invisible NPCs, constant loadscreens, more lag in game, dragons that never stop screaming at you until you leave the map, a couple of my thousands-of-hours-played chars being broken due to nerfs unless I change a bunch of gold sets, skills, & rotations…

Nobody new should be putting up with this. And I won't give ZOS any more money than I have to for ESO+ now, no more crown packs until the game is "fixed"; I guess I can't expect the good old days of pre-Summerset playability back, but not a Beta-level disaster, OK? Bad game company, no pizza.

No, but I did. A friend of mine loves the elder scrolls universe, but is more into cosmetics and housing than end game pve or pvp. She loves the game. It's there for those who enjoy it for what it is

On balance, no.For years it was only really open world PvP that was persistently problematic, but nowadays no part of the game seems safe from deterioration.
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

Yes, in fact, i did yesterday.

The game is huge, and the worst you can say about the overland questing is that it's too easy.

I'm not sure i'd recommend it to a friend who is really into MMO PvP right now, but I certainly would for anyone who enjoys PvE.

    This.

A couple of hundred on the forum currently wouldn't recommend it, while I dare say most of those currently in the game including 21,000 playing now through Steam would recommend it. I certainly would.

I would, if it is a friend not interested in pvp content and not that much into large group content. I would tell him, that if he intends to play it like a single player game with the option of occasionally playing together with someone else, it can be great fun, but if he expects something else - let's say a typical endgame player - I would say, play something else, not ESO.

Furthermore, I would suggest to subscribe - or choose another game - ESO is too cumbersome without subscription.

I love the game and would like to recommend it to someone, but I'm driven by nostalgia. If some of my friends would start the game now he would leave it after few days and I would be ashamed for making such recommendation.

Yes. I don't consider current balance when recommending a new mmo because by the time they reach a high enough level to give a damn it won't be the same as when I recommended it.

This game has very solid foundation and interesting quests, it also has a lot of content for both group or solo play. It's pvp server performance isn't the best and new stuff can be quite glitchy, but that's part and parcel with the genre.

Why not I know we have problems with ESO but then again we have since Beta and honestly I have been since Beta and since it releases back April 4, 2014, so I have seen all up and down in this game and I can say where the game is today it has come a long way and honestly it a lot better now then it was.

I only 2 words to say Horse Training at the start was a nightmare you have train each mount you have which I can tell you were even fun. Bug and lag back then were also nightmare people whine today about lag and bug but I reminder some zone still have Dev cubs in live game and some boss you could even kill for bug out.

    Of course I'd recommend it.

Because if I talk about computer games with a friend, we'll probably be talking about those that have lots of stories/quests/exploration, not about some PvP/BiS/ChaseTheLeaderboard/BeatTheGame stuff that doesn't hold any interest for me.
The overland questing usually works just fine, and ESO is enough of an Elder Scrolls game for quests/world/exploration being its strong suit. The community as a whole is helpful, too (as long as you don't wade into the PvP/BeatTheGame/etc territory), so no problem there, either.

    It isn't that simple.

A lot of people have invested a lot of time and money in the game, its not that easy to quit just like that.
Compare it to a bad marriage - but they have children and a mortage and common friends. Splitting up isn' t "that easy".

Yes, well they would have to be enjoying themselves "elsewhere", wouldn't they?

Because PC EU couldn't get online for 12 hours, yesterday!

The idea of paying for a product is that you can then enjoy said product.

The idea is not that you pay and then still have to go and enjoy yourself "elsewhere" and if you don't do that and you dare to complain, you're "QQing". ><

    Hilarious.
