Venomous Smite working as intended?

So been PVPing in IC with a friend today and ran into some [snip] who all ran the same nooby noskill set: Venomous smite, of course. They only been chilling on their spawn and were spamming light attacks and lethal arrows and if only 2 or even 3 people procc that set on you its almost i possible to heal against. We play no cp. I am a magplar main so ofc i tried purge and oh surprise u cant even purge it... Like wtf? This set already is sloads 2.0 and then u cant even purge it??? Are they kidding? Is this intended? Bec i hope this is just a bug.

Yes you can purge it, it had a Visual bug where it looks like it stays on you but you don't take dmg from it. Has been tested extensively already.Edited by ZOS_ConnorG on June 16, 2020 1:22PM3 -

✭✭✭It is puregable, I've removed it many times. Sometimes the green circle visual remains after being removed, but the effect is removed.
The visual effect might remain as it does some sort of aoe? I don't know, all I know is when I use hexproof it no longer does damage to me.0 -

✭✭It's actually a very nice set. If you consider it a "nooby noskill set", you should have no problem beating the guy who wears it.
I personally use it on my khajiit bow NB only when I want to defend a keep, against ballgroups or against trolling-groups because of the aoe.
And although my toon is birdy with zero impen and very low resistance, I never got killed from it.
