You must live in a cave if you truly think that.
PS5 Hardware is roughly equal to 1000$ PC.
And believe me the difference in ESO performance between 1000$ PC and 5000$ PC is no more than 10%

How is this FUD still being passed off as fact? Particularly by a major outlet? Sony has clarified time and again that those 100 games are what they targeted as a sampling, but that the lion’s share of PlayStation 4 games will be playable via standard BC. With certain games - likely pulled from hose same 100 - targeted for specific enhancements.
Hell, Jim Ryan was just discussing it in an interview with CNET yesterday.
A quick trip to the PlayStation Blog would’ve sorted things right out, too:
"UPDATE: A quick update on backward compatibility – With all of the amazing games in PS4’s catalog, we’ve devoted significant efforts to enable our fans to play their favorites on PS5. We believe that the overwhelming majority of the 4,000+ PS4 titles will be playable on PS5.
We’re expecting backward compatible titles will run at a boosted frequency on PS5 so that they can benefit from higher or more stable frame rates and potentially higher resolutions. We’re currently evaluating games on a title-by-title basis to spot any issues that need adjustment from the original software developers.
In his presentation, Mark Cerny provided a snapshot into the Top 100 most-played PS4 titles, demonstrating how well our backward compatibility efforts are going. We have already tested hundreds of titles and are preparing to test thousands more as we move toward launch. We will provide updates on backward compatibility, along with much more PS5 news, in the months ahead. Stay tuned!"

I expect the game to look like the Demon's Souls or Horizon Forbidden West trailers that were revealed. PS5 is fully capable of photorealism. The gameplay of the remastered ESO should look like the cinematic trailers it currently has.
The existing graphics of this 7(!) year old game (released 2014) are heavily showing their age - very washed out, low poly, and zones like Auridon are very low detail and bland. The graphics in the latest WoW expacs already beat ESO by miles (look at how dense the Kul Tiras capital is). Without a graphics remaster, new players won't be attracted to this game and it will die in a few months.

Because you already have the console for other games (like platform exclusives) or reasons (entertainment center).
Because you don't want to have to deal with all the drivers, updates, crashes, etc... that managing a gaming PC involves.
Because the PC you have access to is an office or family machine, not a gaming rig.
Because you want to game on your couch, and your PC is stuck in your home office or room.
All sorts of reasons. Which are the same reasons that have existed for the last decades, during which both consoles & PCs existed.
I've been playing both computer & console games since 1979. /shrug

However, none of the games on console ever appealed to me, so I'm going to waste that money why?
I'm not a "gamer" - as in I don't play stuff that has no visceral appeal to me. I have a specific set of requirements for a game to "click" with me. TES.... yep. Anything on consoles? No. Not at all my sort of fun. WoW and RIFT - yes, for a while each. But when they quit being fun, I left and never looked back. TES is my go to franchise since Arena in 1994.
Since I got my first PC in 1985, I've had some really great gaming experiences, beginning with Stonegate, then going on to the SSI Gold Box Games. But my whole love of computer games is pretty much bound up in TES. I have a really good PC rig, and that allows me to not only run my business (website design and management - though I've cut back in the last few years as I simply don't want to have to "go back to school" with all the new stuff not to mention that my client base has attrition due to age and other issues) but also play this game at ultra without issues (because I don't bother with pvp - UGH - and endgame pve - also ugh).
I really don't care about gaming on consoles. Unless that affects my particular enjoyment of a particular game. When that happens.... I'll be gone, and so will my money. Not that anyone will care, and that's fine.

And that's perfectly fine, too. I was mostly replying to the "but why would you play on a console" folks.

Not everyone has the money to invest 2-3k in a good rig, in the long run, console ends up being close to the same cost imo. In Canada, PS plus is like 80$ a year alone. The free games are nice I suppose, but the Epic store has been doing that for free now. I play on PC, but it took me a few years before I jumped into it.
I still love consoles for the exclusives, mainly story driven content, 3rd person action games, party games and platformers. I would never bother with a shooter ever again, mouse and keyboard is vastly superior, but games like ESO can easily be played with controllers.
Consoles will always have a soft spot for me, Mario, Spyro, Crash, Uncharted, God of War, Horizon, etc. Xbox imo has shot themselves in the foot by allowing games on PC, consumer friendly sure, but why would I ever need an xbox? I feel compelled to get a PS5, even though I spend 95% of my time on PC now.

Hot garbage. Stylized, sure..but still ugly. Way uglier than ESO.
As this photo demonstrates..ESO is not ugly.
