Never been as torn about how to start a new chapter

Should I start with the questline and explore the region? With my main or a new character? Should I focus on leveling Antiquities first? Should I focus on the trial first and start farming that? Should I wait for the first avalanche of players to pass?

What are you going to do once the chapter releases?

I will focus on level antiquities first

I would focus on the Antiquities, they'll make the most for your gameplay.
Everything else still needs to be fleshed out.

The zones going to be unplayable the first week, so if you want to have a good experience save it for later.

The trial sets aren't even BIS and you might as well wait for the tutorials on run through strategies, unless you like discovering death in paramount lag.

While the spreadsheets for where to get leads is still incomplete for most of the good stuff, you could at least level the skill line and be ready for their completion if not help find the leads yourself. There are already solid leveling strategies.

Not gonna spend a single € on this game until they fix pvp. Meanwhile i'll just pvp during late night hours or morning, the only time it's playable.

I tried the new chapter on PTS and while it is not great it's ok.IMO. I'll buy it after the performance fixes are succesfully done, if it's still for sale then.

That is a very personal decision. Considering we are not getting a new class I do not see why a new character would be considered but again, to each their own.

Sorry, can’t worry about the new chapter for the few weeks it will take me to re-grind my vMA and vDSA weapons. Thanks ZOS. Really scraping the bottom of the barrel this time to get people to play. God forbid the new trial have any sets a magicka dps would want to farm for instead of farming for “new” gear from 5-6 year old content.

I will explore every square inch as well as quest with my main character Flearoy Jenkins whom happens to be a Khajit stamdk(I know, not a popular choice but he's my 1st). Tonight I outfitted him in some traditional Khajit garb to enjoy the journey, seems kind of silly to say it but I'm looking forward to doing it along with a close friend of mine.

I want to do things simultaneously like i did with last expansion. A bit of questing, then start the antiquities skill line then a trial, do more questing rinse and repeat. I also like to take the time to explore, open up,any dailies in the zone, delves etc.

With a new chapter comes a new tutorial; new content that can only be done with a new character.
Not everyone engages with the PTS, so this would be their first chance to experience it.

...but, I may also concentrate on antiquities and try the new dungeons, while they are still new.

Although, if everyone else has already done them repeatedly on the PTS, I probably won't even be amongst other people who don't know what they are doing, yet.

So, not sure if there is much point?

oh no i knew i forgot one option in the poll...should have included arena weapons hunt sorry....

Initially the zone will probably so overflodded that it might not be that immersive to do the story hmmmm

I ordered the PCE from Amazon the day it was announced.
For months, Amazon said it would be here for launch.
Got an email late today that it hasnt even shipped yet.
Like they couldnt let me know that a week ago?
Kinda bummed and it has taken the excitement out of it for me.

I'll probably go get the antiquities skill line unlocked first thing. Don't think I'm going to just grind it out right away though. Probably go collect a handful and then move on to exploration and questing for a while. Then do antiquities off and on as I do other things.

Wow I just realised I can't decide whether I should do the main quest and clear the zone first (like I usually do) or whether I should just start with antiquities...

Whether I start straightaway or leave it for a bit depends on how crowded it feels. However, I'm delighted to see so many choosing the "explore" option, belying the belief that too many gamers these days rely on other people's efforts and can only play if they have tutorials and spreadsheets to tell them what to do (and addons if on PC, of course).

Regardless, whatever your chosen approach to Greymoor - enjoy!

Haven't bought it yet, going to wait and see how performance pans out which will take a few weeks to judge at least. Then maybe when it goes on sale if things turn out to be taking a turn for the better.

@Katahdin you should be getting a code from ZOS that lets you play from day one if your pce doesn't get there in time if you contact support. Check their news side there should be something about it there.

Its up to you, mark that the area will be pretty crowded in the start so if you don't like that wait.

The trial is group content and is totally separate.

Gonna get on my camel, go to the statue of Meridia and politely ask where Darien is. If I don't get an answer, then I am quite prepared to activate the camel's standing animation.

I've avoided content spoilers as much as I have been able to in this day and age.

I'm still behind on content so I'll jump in later. I'm doing Cadwell's Gold right now. I'm in Auridon atm so I still have a long way to go. Then I'm going to do Summerset, Murkmire and Elsweyr with Dragonhold. And then finally Greymoor, which will probably be next year at the rate I'm going (I planned to finish Summerset before Elsweyr release, it didn't work out ). But there's no rush, at least I'll get to experience it proper, without the release day crowds.
