Lets look at vMA inferno staff as example. Why do you need that little bit extra spell pen on back bar? Do you really expect any noticeable dps increase from it? Lmao
I think all this complaining has more to do with jealousy or saltiness that noobs can now get the weps from normal.
There is no reason to autoupgrade them. Ppl got exactly what they farmed for any many got it years ago. They benefited from farming it. Now that a better version is available ppl beg for free upgrades. Feels lazy to me.
There really isn't a valid excuse for them to not be automatically upgraded:
1) The content remains the same. vMA/vDSA are not changing in regards to difficulty, mechanics, etc.
2) The criteria remains the same for current vMA/vDSA weapons and the future perfected versions (beat the arenas on vet).
3) The car model analogy that a dev made in Discord simply does not make sense. No, owning a 2018 model of a car does not mean that you are entitled to automatically upgrading to a 2020 model. But at the same time the dealership isn't coming to my house, taking out the engine, and replacing it with a smaller and weaker engine. When sets are changed in the game it doesn't leave behind a new and old version. You won't see someone in the game who has a 2018 version of the Bloodspawn set and someone else who has the 2020 version of Bloodspawn. The sets get changed across the board regardless of when they were obtained.
4) The new perfected version of the weapons are not "new" content. vMA/vDSA weapons already existed in the game from beating those arenas on vet, which means the "new" weapons are the imperfected versions since those were not previously available in the normal arenas. Since the perfected versions are not new, the current vMA/vDSA weapons should be automatically adjusted just like every other set which undergoes balance adjustments.
It really just doesn't make sense why the weapons will not be upgraded. Not only that, but it is incredibly poor optics. Many players who have multiple characters have spent dozens, or even hundreds, of hours in vMA/vDSA farming these weapons. It's great that the imperfect weapons are being made available to players who could not beat the vet content before and the players going forward who beat it on vet will get the perfected versions, but it is very inconsiderate for all of the players who invested time, effort, and resources to obtain the weapons for the same content but who will now not have the perfected versions.
Then, to add insult to injury, @ZOS_BrianWheeler has been absolutely silent on this issue despite the major community backlash. The forums do not represent the playerbase at large. Most players do not visit the forums. The backlash has already been this big, so imagine just how large it will be once the update goes live and all of those players who do not visit the forums log into the game to discover that their vMA/vDSA weapons have not been upgraded to perfected despite the fact that they beat those arenas on vet in the past. The backlash will be even larger at that point and it makes me wonder if Brian will continue to stay silent.

[Snip] This is about a allowing players who may not be great at solo play, or people who main support, having access to weapons in a multiplayer game that were locked behind solo content.
If you don't want to farm the new staff then don't. You'll be no better or worse than you are now. No one is forcing any of you to run vMA.

If you think your new nMA weapon will magically add 25k DPS to your parse, you're going to be in for a rude awakening. vMA weapons, at most, add 1-2k to a parse. You still need to learn to weave.

Your dps number isn't a guarantee you can complete MA. If that were true the cheese one bar sorc builds wouldn't work. It requires a specific skill set that not everyone possesses. Nor does everyone have time to farm it for months to get one drop.
It's not about adding "25k". No one thinks that. It's about not locking off content to a select group of players.
[Snip]. If you don't want it don't get it. But then you'd have to suffer knowing someone you deem not in your level has the same weapon.
