vMA and vDSA weapons should be upgraded to their Perfected versions. Do you agree?

Ok, I get it, subject is somehow touchy for you, so you need to express it [Snip] several times to feel better. That's ok, this is one of the reasons this forums exist - to blow off steam.

    [Edited for removed content]

[snip] vMA is not an indicator on how good you are in the rest of this multiplayer game. It's a specific skill set to complete, and has no bearing on whether or not you are a good asset to a team. Nor does everyone have months to farm for a specific item because RNG is ***.

I did beat vMA and vDSA and I've got those weapons with bonuses years ago, then they lost those bonuses and now they should get them back, because it's still the same weapons that I have earned by beating same content that is now required to beat to get the newly reintroduced and renamed versions. I don't see any reason why the reward earned from veteran version should be downgraded to reward from normal version, even if those changes were made over couple years. It just feels like yet another flip-off from zenimax to veteran's. This is just another bit to the pile of reasons why not to buy new chapter and not to come back to the game.

Why should I be forced to deal with rng again now that performance is terrible? I, like many others have already earned it through the time we invested

I worked hard to learn the fights and beat the arena on VETERAN.

Now I wont even have a veteran quality weapon. Wish I hadn't wasted my time honestly. Theres so much I want to do still in this game and I have much less time to play these days.

My current weapons dropped in veteran.. and if you are changing the items that drop in veteran.. then change ALL the items that drop in veteran. Including the weapons in my inventory. They had no issues going into people's inventory to nerf the arena weapons in the past...

Lets look at vMA inferno staff as example. Why do you need that little bit extra spell pen on back bar? Do you really expect any noticeable dps increase from it? Lmao

I think all this complaining has more to do with jealousy or saltiness that noobs can now get the weps from normal.

It's a good thing back bar inferno staves arent fhe only weapon that drops in vma and vdsa... solid logic bro.

As a person who has been playing three years but really hates vMA and hasn't yet tried vDSA, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to finally get these weapons.

But I also feel that those who already have them should get them converted to perfected. They put in a tremendous amount of time and effort to get theirs in vet, far more than I will to get the new ones. They earned it.

Especially the people who earned theirs before transmutation was available, and ran it so many more times to get the trait they wanted! It wasn't so long ago that I've forgotten that.

I would be fine with them not being upgraded but only if the perfected sets are worth it in the first place.

I also want perfected versions of all trial sets..

I think it would be a good incentive to go back and play older content and perfected versions keep content relevant.

There is no reason to autoupgrade them. Ppl got exactly what they farmed for any many got it years ago. They benefited from farming it. Now that a better version is available ppl beg for free upgrades. Feels lazy to me.

Yes, there is. Everyone who farmed in veteran modes for the weapons have already done the hard work, and they got the appropiate reward for their efforts. They are basically giving you the reward for completing the arenas on normal mode even when the mere fact of having the weapons proves that we did it on veteran. This is not only a lazy move from zos, but also feels like an excuse from some bad players who prefer to spit in the efforts of the good ones and get the same reward without doing any effort.

There really isn't a valid excuse for them to not be automatically upgraded:
    1) The content remains the same. vMA/vDSA are not changing in regards to difficulty, mechanics, etc.
    2) The criteria remains the same for current vMA/vDSA weapons and the future perfected versions (beat the arenas on vet).
    3) The car model analogy that a dev made in Discord simply does not make sense. No, owning a 2018 model of a car does not mean that you are entitled to automatically upgrading to a 2020 model. But at the same time the dealership isn't coming to my house, taking out the engine, and replacing it with a smaller and weaker engine. When sets are changed in the game it doesn't leave behind a new and old version. You won't see someone in the game who has a 2018 version of the Bloodspawn set and someone else who has the 2020 version of Bloodspawn. The sets get changed across the board regardless of when they were obtained.
    4) The new perfected version of the weapons are not "new" content. vMA/vDSA weapons already existed in the game from beating those arenas on vet, which means the "new" weapons are the imperfected versions since those were not previously available in the normal arenas. Since the perfected versions are not new, the current vMA/vDSA weapons should be automatically adjusted just like every other set which undergoes balance adjustments.

It really just doesn't make sense why the weapons will not be upgraded. Not only that, but it is incredibly poor optics. Many players who have multiple characters have spent dozens, or even hundreds, of hours in vMA/vDSA farming these weapons. It's great that the imperfect weapons are being made available to players who could not beat the vet content before and the players going forward who beat it on vet will get the perfected versions, but it is very inconsiderate for all of the players who invested time, effort, and resources to obtain the weapons for the same content but who will now not have the perfected versions.

Then, to add insult to injury, @ZOS_BrianWheeler has been absolutely silent on this issue despite the major community backlash. The forums do not represent the playerbase at large. Most players do not visit the forums. The backlash has already been this big, so imagine just how large it will be once the update goes live and all of those players who do not visit the forums log into the game to discover that their vMA/vDSA weapons have not been upgraded to perfected despite the fact that they beat those arenas on vet in the past. The backlash will be even larger at that point and it makes me wonder if Brian will continue to stay silent.

Basically this. There is no need for any other responses, this encapsulates everything that needs to be said.

Whelp, if this patch goes through like this, forums will explode. All items till date have been upgraded/downgraded automatically when changed. So why the partiality with these weapons?

[Snip]. All I ever heard from [Snip] is that if you need the Maelstrom staff then you should be able to compete it and if you can't compete it then you don't need it.

[Snip] This is about a allowing players who may not be great at solo play, or people who main support, having access to weapons in a multiplayer game that were locked behind solo content.

If you don't want to farm the new staff then don't. You'll be no better or worse than you are now. No one is forcing any of you to run vMA.

    [Edited for bait]

If you think your new nMA weapon will magically add 25k DPS to your parse, you're going to be in for a rude awakening. vMA weapons, at most, add 1-2k to a parse. You still need to learn to weave.

    [Snip]

    [Edited for removed content]

Your dps number isn't a guarantee you can complete MA. If that were true the cheese one bar sorc builds wouldn't work. It requires a specific skill set that not everyone possesses. Nor does everyone have time to farm it for months to get one drop.

It's not about adding "25k". No one thinks that. It's about not locking off content to a select group of players.

[Snip]. If you don't want it don't get it. But then you'd have to suffer knowing someone you deem not in your level has the same weapon.

    [Edited for bait]

Who was locked out of doing any content for not having a vMA staff? I went years without it because I couldn't be *** to farm it. No one ever asked what staff I was using. The difference between having vMA staff and not having it is literally 1-2k. Nobody would ever know you have it or not.

Some groups might ask you to link your vMA completion achievement, but you never needed the weapon. Asking you to show that you've completed baseline content is fine. It shows you have a basic level of competence.
