Pants are the one item that keeps it sober.. everything else can be hidden by a costume anyway, so let us have the option of doing it ourselves too.. especially since they still use the color system that they do, where 2 items can look different, even though having the same color

I agree, hide shoulders. But they won’t. It takes some small effort (clearly they already have the code for head gear) and they’ll say it’s unfair in PvP since you can’t tell what MS is being used by your opponent (before it’s too late, and people will complain). Especially since some of the sets are just awful looking I think you should be able to hide them.

They can already hide Monster Set by using the outfit system, so that argument is kinda pointless.

My main issue with shoulder pieces is that they either float above your characters shoulders or they clip through the chest piece.

If we could adjust the width and height with a slider those problems would be resolved.

Honor Guard, Teasci and Dark Brotherhood and several others have shoulders that look more like upper Arm Bands. Pyre is a new one. See this

Sunspire Epaulets have a nice, unobtrusive silhouette, but the red rope is undyable so it has a tendency to clash with certain outfit combinations. I wore it for a few weeks before giving up and going back to Dwemer Epaulets, which have been the most flexible so far.

(For reference, I carry around about 80 shirts and robes for quick outfit changes and wear them over an outfit with a blank chest slot.)

But yes, please let us hide shoulders. And hands. Waists, too.

250k AP will get you Akaviri shoulders. The light work well if you after the shape.

Definitely the easiest to get as it's not dependent on RNG, player market or Crown offerings.

Just a fixed payment to an NPC vendor.

I posted it before, I'll post it again:
The most reasonable thing we can expect...
...is for them to sell "invisible armor" motiv pages in the crown store.

I mean, the suits in charge certainly won't send a code-jockey to spend their paid time programming the hide function for all outfit slots without wanting to see some profit, right?

But selling people the option... that would appeal to their shriveled greedy little hearts, right? :p;)

As for the lore... well, I already said it. "Invisible Armor". Enchanting your sturdy armor with an invisibility spell, to lure your foe into a false sense of security...
I mean, look at this guy:
    Sai_Sahan.png
    ...and that's still it.

I still expect they will be more likely to do it if they can sell it to people rather then a "free option for everyone", though I suppose they -could- make it "ESO+ only"... but "invisible armor" options in crown crates seem like a more likely approach, they could make it in variable rarity too... like... shoulders and gloves merely "superior", boots and belts "epic", chest "legendary"... and pants non-existent so people have to wear at least something to preserve common decency?

Also, for those who want to avoid floaty shopulderpads and cannot find any of the "pixane" style light shoulders to fit neatly with their chest armor... the "shoulders" we get from the Greymoor prolouge look kinda like a black fur collar...

Why do you want to hide shoulders? Some of the armor styles with shoulders looks amazing like the dark brotherhood and thieves guild for example.

    For more options?

And a lot of them are terrible. And (more options!), there are some armor styles that would look amazing without any shoulders cluttering them up. Especially when you're making a mix of multiple styles.

(my second and third place options would be hide gloves & hide belt.)

They can already hide Monster Set by using the outfit system, so that argument is kinda pointless.

It’s actually my Monster Set Shoulders I want to hide. I’m not too familiar with the Outfit system but I can find no apparent way to hide those shoulders in the OS. Can you please clarify how to specifically do this in the Outfit Station?

You can't "hide" them, but you can change their appearance so they look like a different shoulder piece.

Outfit system allows to choose your displayed armor (and weapon, tho there you are still limited by weapon class) visuals seperately from what you have equipped. It also has the "hide helmet" option, but no "hide shoulders" as of yet...
    ...but...
...you CAN use other shoulder visuals, including those of other weight classes. Light shoulders has a lot of options that look rather less then shoulder-pad-ly... like those "pixane" style pieces, of those "arm band plates" styles - there is a lot that can be done there already... and of course, mixing and matching bits for your very own style (or several) is fun!

Of course, the seelction available in the outfit system depends on what crafting motivs your crafter alt has learned (outfit motivs are account wide), and which you got from other sources (like the crown store weapon packs, or the event outfits, or even some that drop from mission rewards in elsweyr and such, and yes, we all wish they would retrofit that kind of thing to a lot of old questings...)
    Eifleber wrote: »

    Agreed.
No matter how they might do it, more varietee in options would be a very good thing.

While it's a good advice for someone who wants to minimize the profile, they don't fit many styles and clip through the sleeves.

I would at least love a motif that has simple arm bands, I mean true unobtrusive armbands. That would be a great fix. Hiding is also welcome. I hate most of the shoulder pads.
