With a little bit of practice you can look right at your target at the end of the streak and have CFrag hit the target the same time meteor does, while curse and execute are already on the target.

You cannot do it while having the enemy stunned. You either guarantee the meteor by streaking very just before it hit, then by the time the frag can hit, the enemy has break free + block/dodge.

If your frag touched while the enemy is still stunned, they either lag or are that "low apm" kind of people.

I agree that it is difficult to pull off, but I do it often enough - lag, terrain, etc all play a role.

The circumstance that make it work don't really matter. The fact that it works does. People don't care how a system should work in theory, they only care about what they experience in practice. And apparently the low APM people are the large majority that's why the game needs to be dumbed down. So there should be people left, right, and center complaining, but there aren't. Part of it is that these days meteor hits like a wet noodles especially on all those tank builds around.

Besides, having a gap opener that is also an AoE stun with almost guaranteed success is a bad balancing design. At the same time the single target stun is far less effective and thus essentially useless. Even if streak was not stunning, a 1.3 sec delay on a stun that can be dodged and that is heavily telegraphed makes that ability utterly useless. Meanwhile the 1.3 sec delay and heavy telegraph would give the target plenty of time to prepare even if the stun was undodgeable and unblockable.

Rune Cage in Summerset was never really a guaranteed kill and always had plenty of counters.

It required you to be a ble to cast a minimum of 5 global cooldowns (Curse, Fury, Meteor, Rune Cage, Frag) in a row without using any defensive ability in between while wearing paper-thin light armor in fights where shields last only 1 to 2 global cooldowns. It was quite a risky undertaking. And easiliy countered by DPS / pressure on the sorc.

LOS also pretty much made the combo impossible b/c it would prevent the Frag from hitting or the abilities from getting aligned perfectly, leading the combo to be anything but dangerous.

And then there was always the fool-proof method of stunning the sorc when the meteor telegraph appeared underneath your feet. Resulting in your blocking the meteor, the Frag not hitting, the combo being interupted / negated and the sorc to have waste their ultimate, all at the cost of 1 measily global cooldown on your part. And best of all, the sorc was stunned without shields (b/c last time the sorc cast a shield was like 4 seconds ago) and you could counter with your own ultimate on a sorc in light armor with no shields up!

So Curse-Fury-Meteor-RuneCage-Frag was a "high risk - high reward" combo with plenty of counters. Nothing wrong with that.


Now let's look at Rune Cage today:

The damage on the Rune Cage has been nerfed into oblivion making the combo less effective, even if everything else was as it was during Summerset. As a matter of fact, the damage should probably be removed completely and be replace with a debuff, since sorcs are lackluster in that regard anyway.

The 1.3 sec delay on the Rune Cage makes it impossible for Rune Cage and Meteor to hit at the same time! So the combo would not work even if Rune Cage was unblockable and undodgeable. And unlike the current streak situation, it does not rely on whether you can break free fast enough, b/c the metor will always hit before the stun of the rune cage does, so you can always block it.

The 1.3 sec delay also makes it a pathetic defensive CC as you cannot prevent any specific action by your opponent in a critical situation.

So the whole "Summerset was so super bad, sorcs cannot have a reliable stun" arguement is mute.

I've sort of realized that Sorcs are like ex-spouses. No matter where you go, they follow you around and try and ruin things. There is definitely that dynamic going on between NB's and Sorcs. Can we get a marriage counselor in here please.

What do you expect.
ZOS takes away all of the stuns sorcs used making the class boring and cumbersome b/c "stun and damage should not be on the same ability". And then they show up "Surprise, let's give stamina abilities in general and NBs in particular stuns on spammables". Ofc that will attract those that had such an ability taken away.
