I think everyone is WAY OUT OF TOUCH!

I had a blast being a noob wearing white and green armor, resources all over the place and no matching sets. I used a fire staff I stole from the pledge tent. Back then they had twinks that killed me in 1 shot and the campaign was CP enabled. Noobs like me had no CP and twinks had whatever the max was.

Why did I have so much fun? The campaign was populated with noobs, twinks, and organized guilds. We had players on all sides 2 to 3 bars.

Want to know what made it not so fun? AD poplocked against 1 bar EP/DC.

i cannot fix the game.. but most of the player base on under-50 just FARMs new players.. rather than welcoming them...

ironically, it seems the long-term AD players are the worst, even tho AD faction is the most inviting and welcoming to newbs....

It’s an entrance to PvP. Shouldn’t exclude the idea of talking about more advanced concepts. Eventually the goal is for folks to progress.

I only bash the ad and dc noobs (ok, who am I kidding... i can't bash anyone, but sometimes I do kill one or two). I craft pots and gear and provide advice to noob ep through our guild. Every noob gets rekd. Some figure out they need help, join a guild or group up, get better and enjoy cyrodiil. Some quit. Do you really think that if you devise a system that don't let older players into a u50 campaign that they still won't get 1shot by more skilled new players? That is unrealistic.

Also realize that this is not a campaign for lesser experienced players, but for lesser experienced characters. There is a difference.

Right so the point is to actually explain why it is a much simpler option which would allow them to focus on simpler concepts in the game. Also, typically when learning new things it is helpful to learn from more experience people. This works for many concepts other than gaming. Easiest comparison is with learning an instrument. Sure someone can sit in their garage day and night without human contact to reinvent musical theory, or they can ask to learn from more experience people.

When you die in any video game in any situation, there is something that the player could have done better. The burden is always on the player to want to improve not for the better player to go easy on their opponent. If the newer player does not want to learn, they cannot expect any sympathy in return. Adenoma was originally one of the people that beat the *** out of me early on 4-5 years ago. Instead of crying and avoiding skilled players with massive amounts of knowledge at their disposal I learned from them.

The VAST MAJORITY of regular players on under-CP are veteran players that prey on and farm newer under-geared players.. don't ever teach them one damn thing.. and sadly often ostracize them when they ask for group in public zone chat. [snip]

Sorry, don't agree. The Disenfranchised has accepted quite new players into the guild. In fact, we actually maxed out a group and had to start a second group a couple weeks ago. We haven't done that in a couple of years. We have been picking up PUGs in zone. Letting them run with us and offering them a place in the guild if they are interested. We have brought in many new players. Teaching them tactics and strategies. Gearing them up and helping them with builds.

What you are stating as fact, is not.

The only thing that I have found to be true over the 6 years I have played strictly pvp is that newer players tend to not be invested in the campaign. If their faction is pushed back and losing, why should they bother playing? Getting killed by one guy doesn't stop them from going elsewhere and having fun, but logging in and already having lost the map does not give them any incentive to play pvp that day.

My quoted comments were specifically addressed to MincVinyl.

I know that ZZ (disenfranchised) is a rare guild here and still welcomes and helps newbs. I am calling on AD and DC leaders to do likewise. Sadly, i don't think any of those players seek to, or are even capable of leading... they are just playing to farm AP anymore.

Also, please STOP CALLING PLAYERS PUGs... PUG is a PICK-UP-GROUP! Calling a less-skilled player a PUG is derogatory!! [snip]

Genuine question because I’m just looking for fun - is there still decent pop in this campaign? I might just play a quick to grind toon and be real casual in blues to socialize with folks.

With greymoor out, I imagine the pop will increase for a short while as newer players want to try pvp. The campaign is still plagued by groups/guilds that just flip the map to have a better scoreboard number. So during the weeks there is almost no point in logging in unless the map is somehow even. No point to log in when no pvp is happening on a flipped map. Which generally requires you to pvdoor back the map by yourself to make the map even just for a day so players will want to log in later that night.

Reset nights tend to still get some population sometimes.
Weekdays have less than a few people until around 9pm-1am EST
Weekends have decent pop around 7pm-3am EST

Yeah, pretty low pop during the week, but prime time friday and saturday can get you some good fights and 2 bars pop each.

It's pretty dead but there are spikes of new players (might be an EP thing tho since chapter is Nord).. They are kinda green tho so don't reinstall to farm them please.

Hard to say, the only people that sometimes play on ad are the AA ball groups that still show up from time to time. Most of the other older players swap from ep/dc every other toon.

Yeah, I don't think there is a particular alliance that is generally more dominant. All three, at any time, could paint the map... just depends on if the opposition logs in. I would still suggest EP, however, because you would then be fighting on the right side of justice.... And look... elves and orc.... right?

Dizzy has no second aim check anymore, no second directional check, shorter cast time, seemingly random stun, seemingly random snare. 26% less damage than you probably remember it hitting for
