I rotated through bosses in there last night and did get the drop eventually from Shahmar. Possibly it drops from multiple different bosses in there. Maybe has a chance from all of them.

I'm stuck on the fishing in Stros M'Kai. Fished for about 2 hours last night and no lead for the Thrassian Stranglers. Also hoping for a bit more info on the Artaeum drop for the item if anyone knows.

Does ANYONE have any clues where the Bal Foyen lead for the brutality ring is? No info on here and have tried just grinding, harvesting etc. PLEASE (I have 4/5 so far!)

So based on the spreadsheet now that I know it's yours @Inklings, what I'm reading is that the zone leads that you get for free when you enter the zone are purple?

The first freebie leads you get are green. When you find the green item for the first time, it unlocks a lead for a blue item. And when you find that blue item, you get a lead for a purple item.

So you get free leads for three items per zone, one each of green, blue, and purple, but you have to obtain the lower-tier items in order to unlock the higher-tier leads.

Got it - this makes a lot of sense. I get the three free leads, but I won't get the blue one without doing the green one, and the purple one without doing the blue one. One more question on this - when do you actually GET the free lead? Is it literally when you enter the zone it appears on your screen or do you need to do something to trigger the green freebie?

Got the lead for Tall Papa's Lamp from a wood node in southern Bangkorai.

So so lucky. Managed to get the leads for the two furnishings this really one wanted today, both in totally random ways.

i think patters always same and no reason to report anymore

purple - any source, but bosses much more chances
gold - any world-boss with 50% chance

with some exceptions like Aldmeri Symphonia or emote from alinor

Got a gold lead (echoes of aldmeris) from a simple chest in Auridon, got two ancient high elf pages from the same intermediate chest. Think it's all completely random, but boss npcs, chest containers of all kinds, lots of places to get leads.

The green starter leads will show up in your Journal right away. You can browse the different zones under the Antiquities tab and see what they all are. You have to be in the applicable zone for the leads to show as scryable, though.

There is a BUG in the description. The lead IS NOT in Bal Foyen, it IS in Imperial City, as shown in this video:
