Absolutely loving Solitude, only, no one will talk to me in my final form: a Vampire who sprints to invisibility, only to become visible again any time they hit a small bump on the road :/ . So, according to the patch notes: While at Stage 4, most merchants and tradesmen will recognize your heavily corrupted appearance and will refuse to deal with you… though you may be able to trick them if you are clever enough.

I have tried talking to merchants and bankers in hats, skins and polymorphs, but these things don't seem to be clever enough. Has anyone figured out the trick?

Maybe use the mesmerize skill on them?

There is a monk's robe you can get from the dark brotherhood. You can put it on when you have a large bounty and talk to merchants normally. I would assume this works for vampire lords too.
Otherwise, have you tried using your seduction skill on them? Not sure if that works, but it's worth a shot.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

Just tried it, although I only have its base form. Did not work.

I went to costumes and put on the Black Hand Robe, I assume that's what you mean? Also, did not work. Didn't know it did anything for previous content, either. Interesting. Makes me wonder if there is a similar quest reward for what I am looking for right now.

Maybe they mean to feed? (Lower vamp lvl)

That's not the robe they meant. The Bequeather gives out Unmarked Sacks that contain a monk's robe item that will suppress your bounty for 5 minutes.

Have you tried equipping different skins? Or perhaps a quest costume? I know that quest costumes get rid of your vampire appearance.
Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

Very cool mechanic though. I enjoy when they add things like this to the game, a sort of 'break from the meta' and hat tip to the immersive/role-play side of ESO. Very much appreciated! Looking forward to you finding out how to do it :D has you tried one of the new achievable outfits?

Like Ilsabet already pointed out, that's not the one I meant. The one I mean is an actual item in your inventory that you put into your disguise item slot. It lasts 10minutes I think and disappears when you take it off or commit another crime. So it might not work but there is only one way to find out.

Ah, okay, I know what what you mean. The monks disguise. Looks like I had one my bag, tried it also, did not work.

In case anyone wants to know the clever trick:
It is the Mesmerize skill, one of the new Vampire abilities. It's very buggy though, it seems. I tried fully ranking it up after morphing it to the Stupefy version, to see if it would work perfectly at that point, but it does not. Sometimes it works, most times it doesn't. When it does work, you will see a purple glow over the NPCs head and you will be able to speak to them as you normally would. I really hope this gets fixed because it's a really fun way to engage with the justice system as a vampire.

    So
every time you want to interact with a merchant, you cast mesmerize behind an alley so they don't see you? Or is it not one of the illegal vamp skills? Does it have enough duration? If you talk to a merchant and while you use the buy/sell window, the skill fades away, does the trading stops as well?

I'm guessing it's not an illegal skill.

Even still, having to slot a specific skill just sounds tedious AF and adds a pointless extra step. I'd just prefer less immersion personally.

    Answer:
This isn't a skill that is considered a criminal act, so you are safe casting it. You are only casting the skill to change the way NPC interacts with you, this isn't a stealth/feed thing. You want him to see you because you are looking to interact/talk with them, that's why you are casting it. If you don't, and try and talk with the NPC, seemingly most NPCs outside of quest ones, they will basically tell you to get lost and you cannot enter into dialogue with them. Assuming the skill isn't bugged, and you have successfully casted it on them, I haven't seen any duration issues with it yet, but I've only stuck around as long as it interested me to do so. The dialogue/merchant window has never disappeared on me.

The Hypnosis morph seems to work better, or it did when I was trying it out.
Why are we talking in spoilers? This isn't exactly secret information.

What about the player's merchant. Do fezes and the lady also refuse to talk to their stage 4 vampire master?

That would actually be something that is considered a bug, not a feature. I'm pretty sure, since they are your assistants, they know you are bloodsucker.
I would report it as a bug on PTS if it is so.

Make sure you disable the "Prevent targeting of innocents" option, or whatever it's called.
I have it off and Mesmerising merchants works every time, 100% of the time.
I've unearthed the Legendary Antiquity of Mêlée Island and all I got was this stupid T-shirt!
