This. I have been consistently pulling one motif a day using this method since release, keeping any boxes that do not need to be opened so I always have a supply of boxes to open that day. Works best if I do the quests first to get new boxes. At most it has taken me 6 boxes, with only one bad day taking 12+ boxes and exhausting my box supply on one character.

Still, I would like confirmation that this is the way its going to be from now on or not, because it isn't fair to leave us guessing.

My experience is that I get 1 motif every 24 hours. Usually takes no more than 2 boxes sometimes 3 boxes to get them. The character I use has completed the entire zone's main quest (and all side quest).

I have tried running it on other characters after that and after 14-16 boxes got nothing. I repeated this for 2 weeks and got most of the motifs except the legs and axe with a few duplicates.

My observation. That the chances increase if you've completed the main quest of that zone. The chances are very high during your first 2-3 boxes opened that day to get one and drop very low after that until the end of the 24 hour cycle. At which point it seems to reset and the chance to get another motif is high.

Purely circumstantial I believe. I've had better luck on characters who haven't done the zone at all. Still only one per day but usually only if I do the dailies on someone other than my main.

OK, just to report back after all this time of farming these boxes, the RNG is horrible.

Took me 26 boxes to get one motif page to drop (and no, I did not open boxes right after getting a motif, so there was no cooldown going on). And in all the boxes I've opened I've gotten the same few pages over and over, so it seems that even the different pages don't have equal chances to drop. Do you really plan to have a player in your game farm for two weeks doing the same boring dailies to get one page of a motif? I certainly hope that's not the plan.

ZOS you really need to polish your RNG. Feels like you go from 1 to 10 on a dial and never want to use the 2-9 settings in between. Something we are selling on crown store? Set dial to 1. Something that's a giveaway like the paladin motif, just set it to 10 so people are drowning in them.

If this is how the New Moon motif will be: for a player to spend a whole month opening that box and failing to get one page, then it's a cheap way to push your crown store and IMO pushing more into that scummy territory where game makers purposefully make an aspect of their game terrible so players will pay for 'convenience'.

Let's not even forget that these "dailies" are tied to world boss fights that aren't very easy to do solo, if at all. And once the zone is dead, the possibility to farm them also dies.

I'm not asking for stuff to drop like the paladin motif, but turn the dial to somewhere between min and max on your RNG please.
