Hi all, we made some good progress today with testing some additional crash fixes, and are actually going to continue testing through the weekend. If everything passes QA, we'll get the incremental PC patch scheduled and will let you know when it will be deployed. To be clear, the crash fixes we're working on affect both PvE and Cyrodiil, with the latter involving some recent fixture optimizations occurring near Keeps.

    so... Monday?
August Palatine Davadin Bloodstrake - Nord Dragon Knight - PC NA - Gray Host
Greymoor 6.0.7 PvP : Medium 2H/SnB The Destroyer
Dragonhold 5.2.11 PvE : Medium DW/2H The Blood Furnace
March 2021 (too lazy to add CP) PvP: Medium DW/Bow The Stabber

Did everyone banned get their account back with a proper explanation?

One of my courses at university was business communication and crisis handling. I can say that this is an interesting case, especially in a time where the critical consumer are the fastest growing consumer segment on the planet.

I notice a thread on bought copies of eso. 13.5 millions. We do not know anything on returning players, other than what steam can hint to, not forgetting that we do not know the percentage of players that are choosing steam over eso-launcher. 13.5 millions copies sold and it still seems as if the organization believes it only navigates through the American consumerism?

But they don’t, do they? They also have to navigate through more open mouthed cultures, where an organization isn’t believed to being hurt personally by consumer critique..

I’m not sure I’m here on Monday. The strategy doesn’t seem to care much about the returning player. I’m getting the image of a management that’s tired, getting sloppy, don’t take criticism well at all and actively trying to sweep years and years of “unintended occurrences” under the rug.

Yeah I've got a character stuck in Cyrodiil atm as i cant even get to the base to port out before it crashes. A playing battleground's and logs me out.....then I get a penalty for leaving! Utter Joke, the universe hates one. hehe

This is normal for zos, if you've played for any amount of time.

A new chapter or dlc drops and we get performance issues. They claim to have a fix, but the fix causes more issues.

Then those issues become permanent features we have to work around to play the game.

I crashed yesterday playing PVE and NO addons installed whatsoever.
I had zero crashes prior to latest patch, so yeah, addons are not a problem or PvP.

Crashed twice. Once right after login when I was traveling to Murkmire from Auridon (knocked out to login screen while on Murkmire load screen and got several "You're already logged in" messages).

Second I was just scrolling through items to decon at the Riften jewelry crafting station. That one was a freeze, with a crash feedback popup.

All addons were disabled for both crashes.

Multiply this experience by six months: that’s what PS4 players have been dealing with. No one listened to us. Everyone disregarded us. People told us to buy gaming PCs, told us to check our internet, told us our subpar icky console hardware was overheating, etc.

While it sucks that you guys are dealing with this, it’s nice to know we aren’t the only “peasants” of this community anymore. ZOS needs to fix this damn problem once and for all. We’ve all spent WAY too much money on this game to put up with performance issues like this. I just hope, for your sake, that ZOS does not leave you hanging for half a year as well.

I sure hope so too as i just invested 3k into building an PC really hate not being able to play the game still do to poor management

Game is completely unoptimized, you can have 5K rig and you will still have crashes or microstutter, so don't bother, it will work fine in other and upcoming games. God knows when eso will be fixed if ever.

    3rd crash

Its a major patch day on a MONDAY. How about you take a break for today and do something else?

Expectation is the mother of all frustration - Antonio Banderas.

This is so wrong on many levels. So the course of events: Company updates a product. It has issues. Customer complains. Fan boy says go do something else because beloved ZOS are patching a patch.

Keeping these messages coming keeps the pressure on ZOS to fix it. I'm a server engineer. If something is borken and nobody complains, people are generally lackadaisical in resolving it. But when people start to whinge, boy do we get on it.

I'm linux sys admin for a really big web hosting company, and you are completely right, if we are not getting pressure from our clients that there are issues with server, besides outage and security or load monitoring department, we are not going to do a diddly-squat about it.
People say that the forum is a place for whiners and negativity outlet, I on the other hand see it as a channel to keep pressure on ZOS to fix things that are not working properly.

Nah, this seems a little different, at least to me. If crashing this much in Cyro becomes a feature; then they BROKE Cyro...maybe even the game. I'd play something else...

Random crashes seem to be getting worse, and crashes when logging out to char select have returned.

Cyrodiil is unplayable. Crashing every 10 mins regular as clockwork.

ZOS better find a way to compensate for us players who had to deal with this unacceptable state of a patch! Ugh! I crashed when I was trying to port with the Volendrung; I think I'm done until this is fixed.

Don’t count on it. PS4 has been in an unplayable state for three months and PS4 players haven’t seen a single cent.

I love how the mods give you guys daily updates, and we just get dead silence. :)

I find it nothing less than amazing that a predominately performance weighted update has actually set player experience back even further.

I am lucky enough to have a high end gaming machine and great fibre broadband, so I did not tend to suffer as much with lag-related issues in Cyrodiil. However, since U25 (and especially in the CP campaign) lag is absolutely dreadful, targeting seems to be off/broken/or just so affected by lag that it's useless, and any activity involving groups battles is just impossible to play. This would all drive me mad but for the fact that I can't play past a loading screen without being kicked to desktop!

I'm not alone. Our PVP guild no longer wants to run PVP because of the above. Last night - prime time Friday night - you'd have been hard pressed to find a time when any campaign was pop-locked.

Awesome job there ZoS! You said "performance update" - we just didn't realise you meant "worse performance"!

(Kudos on the new dungeons though - maybe get the guy who designed them to have a word with the guy who fixes stuff? Maybe sit them together? Maybe something will rub off?)

Seriously, don't know why I keep trying in Cyrodill at this point. I have missed out in well over a mil in AP from all the crashes before Keep Offense or Defense ticks, resource ticks, outposts ticks, middle of battle crashes... As someone who just started to actually PvP in Cyrodill for the past month and a half, this isn't very motivating. I know a lot of the 5 star ranks out there don't really care about gaining AP, but shifting from mostly Pve to PvP, I do care and its depressing to put in all the work, solo or in a group and not get the AP for it cuz you crash before the tick goes off :disappointed:

if the patch reaches consoles without this "hotfix" you may need to find a new game for yourself until "GeeryMoore" chapter arrives

The crashes are getting more and more frequent. Especially in PvP. I'm expecting a crash report after 15-20 minutes in PvP atm. No set pattern. In combat. Riding on horse. Handing in quests. Can happen at any time.

    Server: PC / EU.
    Setup: Ryzen 3900X 32GB 2080ti - 50mb EE cable.
    Settings: Maximum, FXAA, No vSync.
Addons: ActionDurationReminder, Banditui, Inventory Insights, pChat, Srendarr.

Thank goodness the performance patch is going so well. It's saving the reputation of the game at last.

Can we have any kind of communication about those crashes? The game is unplayable right now. It crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm trying to switch character. Just a black screen and a crash report every-single-time I press "log out". Good job with the patch really, that's amazing guys

All of my friends and guildmates are getting crashes all the time since the monday patch. we cant do any no death runs or trials w/o waiting for people to get back from getting booted. its really a shame how they made the game so glitchy and slow. I keep asking how they planned on testing these major changes without a test system that can test a dungeon/BG queue since launch because they have never implemented it once. then i remembered they dont test anything, we do in live.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Volckodav here, fan of the first hour, playing since 6 years ESO, was playing during beta (and ESO+) and with my wife we were BIG FAN OF ZOS. I've also reporting you lot of bugs during the years, so a free professional QA for you!

But currently this is the worst we've seen, because it's NOT PLAYABLE. crashing every 3min!!! I've tried with no addon, delete shader cash etc.. not working. I'm a QA lead, believe me I've tried everything I can to find workaround.

For now on this is so bad that we STOP CONNECTING AND PLAYING ESO. NEVER HAPPEN BEFORE SINCE 6 years!!!
    What can I say more?

We are looking into other game, so ZOS, this is the last chance for you to make it right, otherwise we are simply leaving the game for good, because we are not arguing on balancing, performance or anything here...we SIMPLY CANNOT USE THE PRODUCT WE ARE PAYING FOR!!!

I'm even not mentioning the irony on the "Biggest performance update" ever made on ESO, 30G less etc... NOW WE CANNOT EVEN PLAY THE GAME, GG!!!

I don't think of anything worst that can happen, PRODUCT NOT PLAYABLE, GAME OVER!!!

PS: At least crashes keep me off the frustration of playing because I have NO STAMINA RECOVERY on all my characters. Not an UI issue, I've tested it and my stam just drop...and never get back, unless I'm using a pots.
If needed I can quickly make you a video of it.

How we can fall to such critical issueS, ongoing for days, on a game that is live for 6 years already? You said to your customers that you will give them quality of life with performance increase, and emotional dropdown, reality Vs expectation contrast, you deliver NOT PLAYABLE GAME!
