Anyone else miss the old Phoenix set?

I know there was also one other set that did the same.. Eternal Yokeda? I forgot it's name but it was from a trial. As of now, Phoenix grants a large shield and a heal.
However, I preferred the old version where in death is resurrects you (yet there was a bug that it would not go off when it was available..) I liked using the old version of the phoenix because in
PVP, there is always those that hide and one hit kill from stealth, but Phoenix would always surprise them and they'd just end up dying after I revived and used detect potion...
I would even get kills with it in the past which was rare, but was pretty funny to see "You have killed _______ using Phoenix" pop in my chat box from an addon.

I always said to friends who tried it: If you can stay alive for five minutes, switch to a 5th bonus that gets used every engagement instead.

no cuz most of competent people never used cheese sets and tbh I like it more how they made EY/Phoenix so stop complaining and adapt just like everyone else.
oh also the main reason both of those were changed like this is cuz most people were cheesing the triple achievements from dungeons and even raids sometimes and that's unacceptable.

That was a good set. I was using it first to learn mechanics and to have at least something against stupid oneshots. Then I moved this set to my reborn elf as it is thematically ideal.

It was also a great set to use in mountain area where you don't waste time on resurrecting after a jump down.
The Three Storm Sharks, episode 8 released on january the 8th.
One mer to rule them all,
    one mer to find them,
One mer to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.

I'd use it alot cause I was tired of people hiding in stealth and one shotting. Even with the fifth bonus like that, I could still get good amount of kills and had good survivability. I didn't die to often unless it was due to one shot killers from stealth..
but as of now, there doesn't seem to be to many gankers although had a few try and they been failing.

Yeah, pretty fun set. Too bad they changed the rez to a damage shield.

It was truly fun to troll with too, would even put it on when needing to jump off a cliff to get somewhere and not wanting to die Lol

It had epic visuals and eagle sound :'( I wish we coud at least get some memento to make the character perform this old Phoenix effect...

I still have 5 pieces of this set, and I used it few times in 2017. But for me it was not reliable enough - the heal was not instant, so if I was under significant pressure, I would drop dead as soon as the "burning statue stun" ended (without Phoenix heal proccing, and without any chance to cast my own heal or shield). Maybe I was unlucky, or had too much lag :/

Yeah, That was a problem. AOE / DoT applied, once you were back to normal it'd automatically kill you before the heal could take place. But I'd just try and quickly activate a shield once I was back up.

I tested the current version against gankblades, It sorta works but had experienced where it never proc'd through the one hit. The shield though is nice, heal isn't all to great but is nice.

Yes, I miss it. Made getting the no deaths on Vet DLCs too easy. But it had to be nerfed though...it was such an overpowering set when it proc'd.

Eternal warrior was awesome in pve, no it's just a regular set.

Phoenix and Yokeda were powerful, but niche. I've never met anyone that considered them OP, only people who thought they were cool for beginners and people who thought they were useless.
Personally I liked the unique bonus they provided, now they are both just one of those generic "heal when below 25 % health" sets that we already have dozens of.
I think some dev at ZOS was probably salty that they could be used to bypass certain oneshot mechanics in trials, even though to knowledge nobody actually ever systematically used them for that.
